I’ve only just bought a mk1 Audi TT 180 and stumbled across your channel tonight, loving the content so easy to follow going to Learn so much watching these videos 😁
I bought the kit off cb auto as well and struggled to work out how the engine cover fixings fitted, well now i know - very informative videos, keep up the good work 👌
I must admit I’m not doing too bad at the moment, however it does keep breaking so the list keeps growing. The wipers have stopped working so you can expect a video on that in the future 😂
Greetings from Germany!!....Another good informative video...Thanks. One point if I may: I believe the captive nuts for the engine cover fitted to the brackets on the inlet manifold, should be fitted underneath the brackets to allow tightening. If you put them on top then only the clips are holding the cover on. Keep up the Good work!!
Thank you, I was 50-50 on that as if I didn’t the other way round it feel like they might have lifted up a little, next time I take it off and swap it round see how it goes appreciate the comment hello from England 👋🏻
I bought one of these kits the other week but haven't got round to fitting it yet, i dare say your video will help me out! Cheers for the vid mate, keep up the good work! 👏🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the vid. Mine came with most of the plastics missing. Not a fan of putting more back in but the battery area def needs something. The cap looks great by the way!! Cheers.
I’m not a massive fan of engine plastics, however on a TT the 249 on top of the Rocker cover looks awful, and so does there coolant bottle, so I thought why not cover them for the time being until I fit something bigger and better 😂. Thanks man appreciate it
Good video as always. Can I confirm. Some of the screws for the dress do not unscrew but you have to access them from underneath with pliers, pinch the screw wings together, to effectively pop the screws out to allow the panels to be removed. There was always a temptation to pull up those panels thinking the screws would pop out but this would result in damage as another person said on here. I found the front valence panel and main cover over the coilpacks impossible to remove due to my lack of knowledge.
Steve E thanks Steve. If you are talking about the audi factory fixings. The rocker plastic cover has 2 quarter turn screws. Then Lifts away. The front valance either has spread clips of the ones where the centre push downward and you catch the dowell. Then they will pull up.
Good idea for the series, these cars seem in general to be in good condition because of the build quality, but after 20 odd years they need little spruce ups to keep them looking their best...
Just fitted mine using the same kit looks smart, an excellent video as I didn't even realise I was missing the battery and water bottle covers (eBay to the rescue). My engine top cover looks different as I have three plastic rivets and only 2 alloy screws so will leave those as is.
@@TheParrottBros Dude I bought the most bodged car ever 😂 Every time I go to remove something (Lets say, the Airbox), "Right, I'll just undo these screws - wait, there's none here!".

I just got mine delivered today just waiting for the cloude 9 customs heat shield to arrive and ill be putting it on. How does it sound and also do you have a video for fitting it coming out soon?

Excellent "tweet of the week" really enjoying your content. Trying to track down a 225bhp in Ireland, what a struggle. As soon as I have it will be watching out for 1 of you UK meet ups. 👍
Are you southern? I’m guessing it’s not worth importing one if that’s the case as heard tax is a right killer. Although your road duty is also steep too. Was chatting with a cabby when in Dublin last and he said he’s 3 cars were like 8k a year in road duty. I nearly fell out the cab 😂. Yeah do it your always welcome! Or feel free to host a meet and invite me over 👍🏻
@@TheParrottBros was looking at importing, duty on a mk1 TT is €1500 but haven't ruled it out yet 🤣 love these motors. Gonna keep watching the forums till end of Jan. If nothing I'll be the revenues best friend 🤣🤣. Actually great idea about inviting you over, was chat with a buddy (fellow TT lover/owner) and massive lack of TT enthusiast meets here. I guess if the choice is not great, and I’m sure the price is quite high too so importing one may not be a bad idea after all. Yeah drop me a message in the New Year and we can have a chat about doing something, I’ve always wanted to come over and heard the roads are epic
Hi, sorry for my english. I really like your channel and you make a great job with your tt. Wahat would you choose for daily driving 1.8 180hp or 3.2? Front wheel drive.
I was always curious. Those engine covers, they're not used in engine cooling or something like that, right? They're just for dress-up. Because I'm thinking of ditching the lot. They're old cars, I'm not sure covering up wires/hoses is the best thing to do. I'm thinking it's best to just let them exposed for easier checking.
Another great video! I’ve been looking at the red washer version of these to dress up my engine bay (going for a red/black kind of theme) except the last bastard to own my TT decided to pure rip the plastic covers off instead of unscrewing them so they are all more or less cracked. eBay still the best place to buy replacement covers? After that it’ll be straight on to these little things like this and a few red vacuum lines
Ebay or if you are on facebook speak to some of the breakers in the sales page :) They are a nice little touch, not too bling but enough to personalise
