You can move your mouse cursor from monitor that displayed DeX, to tablet default display with multi control option ( it also present in quickpanel menu)
On my S9, MultiStar doesn't offer the optional resolutions, it seems. At least, to my surprise, it's a 1440x2960 pixel phone, so at worst I'd be missing a bit off the sides of my 1440P 21:9 monitor. Two phones newer, my S22 does get the most from MultiStar. Now I'm just waiting for cables to see the magic work...
I have Dex on my S10 I made sure the Dock and HDMI supported 4k 30fps and 60fps and such and on a previous Dock I had the 4k Setting came up but I dont have that Dock anymore and I'm limited too 1080p so I did the instructions as follows and it crashed Dex and restarts my phone... I have too reconnect it again too register Dex again but it defaults back too 1080p...
Well explored n explained. Question: How's battery discharge on max resolution compared to default? Also, if the USB C port on Monitor can be turned off/on, how to do it? TYVM
Ah thanks for watching. 1. Going to drain more battery and the device will get hotter. Most USB-C monitors will charge the phone too so the battery isn't a worry. 2. You can turn off DeX but it'll still mirror your display on the external display

So the issue is when you turn off Samsung DeX but connected to an external display, that external display will mirror the tablet's screen instead. The Pause USB power delivery option is only available for devices released since Galaxy S22 series. We have a video about that on how to enable the option.
If you're using a USB-C dock connected to a Samsung phone or tablet, it will drop to 4K 30Hz if you connect a flash drive or SSD to the dock due to bandwidth limitations. Unplug any storage devices, etc from the dock and Dex will go back to 4K 60Hz. Dex in 4K 60Hz is meant for a USB-C to HDMI adapter or a USB-C to USB-C cable. Not a USB-C dock.
If you have a 2k standard external monitor. Will dex upscale to 2k automatically when enabling the higher res option in multistar? Can you run Dex in 2k on a 4K external monitor?
Hi there - thanks for explaining. I have a 32:9 samsung ultrawide monitor along with the samsung tablet s8 ultra and can only get up to 2560x1080, even with Multistar. Is there a way I can at least get to 1440p, although I would prefer higher if possible??

guys why all my Dex settings like wallpaper, keyboard, font , resolution, Spen etc. are all grayed out. I am connecting Samsung S24 with Xiaomi 4k monitor via HDMI cable via Baseus 13 in 1 USB C hub ? Can any expert help here. I am thinking out loud what can be wrong in the setup , old HDMI cable ?

I am using s23fe Dex and I can get 4k out but only at 30hz 60hz is only possible at 1080p. Does anyone have a solution

AFAIK you need to restart DeX when you change the resolution

Hmmm... what input are you using? USB-C or HDMI?
32:9 = Super Ultrawide.
NOT Ultrawide.
Ultrawide = 21:9.

Hmmm... What method are you trying to connect it to the monitor? Sounds like a bandwidth issue.

DeX displays can't be rotated, sadly.

this is not hidden option. these are the only setting dex has.
