Now Samsung needs to copy Sony's power bypass mode, so we won't be constantly charging and discharging the battery as the phone gets powered directly via cable. Very useful feature that dex must have. Let's hope Sammy plays like Apple and (re-)invent power bypass mode into note devices.
A Nexdock has reverse charge. Plug in to connect Dex and it charges the phone! Makes a portable set up easy with a blue tooth mouse. If not, carry an hdmi-USBc cable to plug into a monitor, a charging source to the monitor, Bluetooth keyboard, bluetooth mouse and wait for your phone to run out of juice.
Had a galaxy tab e that did not charge when connected to a computer. Not sure if the feature was intentional or some kind of bug but it definitely was pretty useful for me
With wireless DeX and Nexdoc, add a Miracast dongle and all set; although the wireless option doesn't solve the charge question. I like the option of either with the Nexdock Touch and a mouse with the Note 20 Ultra 5G, or a good ol' cord.
@@huntercon610 so what happens in my experience is that the Note 10 plus doesn't charge fast enough on dex mode to outweigh the consumption rate, so your battery kind of stays stale and very slowly discharges. But one easy way to figure is to touch your phone to feel how hot it is, and if you want to geek about it you can download the Accubattery app. 👍 Still Sony's battery mode powers the phone while bypassing the battery, so you should see some battery decrease every so slightly, but the temperature should remain fairly low and not go over your charge/discharge cycles like mad 😁

Nexdock and UperfectX have a lapdock made for Dex. It's just the shell of a laptop, with a 2-in-1 design so that you can fold it all the way back as a tablet or in presentation mode. They have backlit keyboards, well designed track pads, sleek and light bodies, great displays, and obviously touchscreen displays. You just plug the phone in and go. They have decent battery life that can last on and off use for at least a day for me personally. 10k mAh for one and the other one is a bit better. Just got the uperfectX one yesterday for my note 20 ultra and this is a game changer for sure.
Yep. I paired a NexDock 360 with my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra specifically so that I can use my smartphone as a software development environment (Termux within which runs a Alpine Linux virtual machine within which I run Docker, tmux, vim, nodejs/mpn/npx, etc.). Great video. I'm waiting for the note 20 and I will try out the DeX experience then. Im still rocking the S9 plus. I love Samsung products and innovation. This is a really big year for Samsung. I really wish they took their time on the S20 Series of phones. Battery life and size, camera system and the 120 refresh rate. Take care and stay safe Sister.
I've been using Dex on my Note 9 for over a year now. I rarely touch my desktop anymore unless I need serious computing power (e.g. creating architectural models on Sketchup, creating composites for video editing). When I get home, I just slap my phone onto the dock and I can do all my web browsing, RUclips, word processing, basic image editing, and other light workloads. The multitasking experience is surprisingly decent considering my Note 9 only has 6GB of RAM. It's also convenient having all of my stuff on the phone and I just use OneDrive or Dropbox when there are files I need to sync over with my Windows PC. The 400GB micro SD on my Note 9 is quite sufficient.

After buying so much of their stuff, I feel like an investor and you got my vote for marketing CEO.

I watched a 30 minute reveiw on the S8 Ultra and the guy didn't know how to take it off of screen mirroring in Dex mode. You just showed me how to get the mouse over to my tablet. Thank you!
Awesome tip! The sound assistant actually solve my problems.Thank you so much!!
I DO NOT EVEN HAVE DEX, BUT I STILL FOUND THIS VIDEO INTERESTING!!! I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT GETTING A GALAXY NOTE 10 + AND I AM INTRIGUED BY THE DEX FUNCTION!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!
great video Thao!
You're a great content creator. I haven't seen Apple based youtubers show so much important information. Your videos are too good. Keep it up!
I just found your channel and I can't stop watching your amazing videos. Congrats from Chile!!!
Great video I loved dex since 2018
Kiwi browser is great app for opening desktop sites. Maybe u can use it as an alternative to Samsung browser. Good video as always Thao! Keep it up.
Audio assistant is no longer available. Anyone have a similar app that does the same?
Which is this sound assistent she uses? I don't find on play store. Thanks
I've Loved using Dex! It's awesome multitasking on it and using it as a computer. Makes me glad that I have a Samsung phone.
With my new s7+, I'm stil configuring my set up options. It's so helpful when you show multiple accessories & apps in use. In particular I find the stands & keyboards worth researching . When you mention an app , my instinct is to begin the download process. I cannot express how helpful You have been. Just as valuable and pleasing as finding a hidden gem! ... p.s.: Does Samsung even know about how talented you are? After buying so much of their stuff, I feel like an investor and you got my vote for marketing CEO.
Thanks! Was looking for someone to speak more specifically about google docs and such, which is about 90% of what I do.
I used Dex exclusively for 4 months when my only Laptop died. So instead of buying new laptop just bought generic dex station, keyboard and mouse and connected to my TV. I am so glad that my note 9 have this feature ,it was a life saver got tons of work done. But still if possible I would still like to use laptop because screen, keyboard, mouse everything is in one small package,
I like the fact you try to make more video about dex even though Samsung not properly advertise this, keep it up
I just found samsung dex features and capability on my S10+ when I was in collage and oh boy it saved me A LOT..
I remember when I need to make some urgent documents or note ASAP I just plugged my phone to a monitor and creat word documents like a normal pc. All my friends just jaw dropped at that momment XD.
Dunno why samsung not revealing dex much in their ads.
I'm pumped about Samsung Dex ! Ty for the video
Great~! I am also a Samsung DEX user. Those tips mentioned in the video are great. I do wish more tips will come and make Dex is really an alternative working platform for light computing user. Thanks.
I love Dex, please don't stop advertising it, Samsung needs you!
It's been said hundreds of times already, but you're good at this, please do more. Thanks for this video, Samsung should be paying you! They have a great concept here that soon others will catch on to and perhaps surpass them, steal their lunch. You're a brilliant presenter.👍
You are the best reviewer for Samsung, none other does what you did.
👍👍👍
I have a tab s6 and I live it. I use the dex mode every time in school and like all my friends is like: wtf🤯
Same 😂
LOL! I have the S5e with the keyboard cover and a Bluetooth mouse. I have never actually been in tablet mode ever; have owned it for a year.
@@sirswede8969 Agree, Samsung just needs to switch to the DEX interface.
I have the S4 LTE and note 10plus and I took for my work the s10e and on all of them DEX . S4lte as default
And my 2 phones plugged in my 2 screens at work haha and I have my laptop sadly just because some prob won't on the company VPN.
Now waiting the s7+
So it's possible to Use the Tab S6 as a bigger portable Screen. I need it more for Screen Mirroring my Note Display. Has anyone experience with that Usecase ? Best Regards
Dex is becoming my dedicated driver. Thx for the tips
Sorry I checked for that app but couldn't find
I just got the Samsung note 10 plus and I’m going to be trying dex for the first time I can see smartphones becoming mini PC,S so that all you will need is a monitor or portable monitor so that you don’t need a full desktop
i'm only two minutes in and this video is REALLY good! great content!
Amazing vid as per your usual. The Sound Assistant and the Mouse pointer are life savers. I have been using DeX as my main PC since the launch of the S8 and haven't looked back. Keep these videos coming. You ROCK!!!!

Hi Thao, Thank you very much for your video. I find it very informative. Samsung Dex is a very useful tool. I must mention that I started using it after watching one of your RUclips videos. You do a great job. KEEP GOING👍
So I don't know if you'll actually see this but I use Samsung Dex almost on a daily, and the best app that I have found to use windows on Samsung Dex is an app called SplashTop. Look up what you would be able to do if you wanted to use windows through Samsung Dex on the go with this set-up
Never knew about sound assistant! Thank you so much!
Your videos have helped me find the right setup for me for my Samsung galaxy s20 setup. Thanks alot!
I appreciate the time and effort you put in. Quality videos! Big fan Thao
I like how your watch screen changes colors, is that a filter film attached or the actual screen wallpaper? 1:17

Ugh, thank you so much.
I like to draw and have music playing on my tablet. This was getting on my nerves, but this helps!
I can’t get google to not force the docs app to open when I want to use the Samsung browser for it. Love your videos! Learned about life, creativity, and tech! ✨
Out of all channels on youtube. This one has probably sold me the most stuff. You need a kickback.
