Del Toro actually had an entire troll language created just for the writing on the troll market door (and maybe the market itself?). Gotta appreciate his level of detail.
I love Hellboy 2. He was the beginning of my acquaintance with this character. But I have to admit that the plot has huge problems. First of all. Why was everyone so fussed with a fragment of the crown? For a princess, a king, or people who understand the danger of the crown, the best way out is simply to melt it. Secondly. If the princess knew that Noada KNEW about the places she knew about, why didn't she tell ANYONE?! How did the fight between Red and Noada end? They fought in the heart of the bureau and the second one just... Evaporated? How? Agents have already arrived there. P. S. The moment Liz blew up the door to Red's apartment is hilarious, but dumb. She could have killed someone. P. P. S. Noada is strong, but not invincible. Well, he killed a dozen guards. Why not put 50 against him? It's about the death of the world from the Golden Army! And how did they let his sister go at all?!
Well, they didn’t melt the crown, because that is what kept piece. By there being something each side wanted maybe they would be forced to not just commit genocide. Nuada easily left because he had the Princess as ransom, and let’s be real, NO ONE could have attacked him besides Red anyway
@@whitenoisereacts Okay. I see the point about piece. Anyway, in spite of any problem with plot this movie is a masterpiece in superhero-movie field. It has its unic style, beautiful art-direction and outstanding action. And it's so sad that they messed it all up in remake. I'm still hoping for a third one from Torro. I know that Perlman is old, but his is still charismatic as hell. I really want to see a some sort of Logan-type film, but about old Red.
Guillermo del Toro is nothing short of a genius when it comes to character design and world building. I have his book where you can see a bit of his proccess and it is amazing seeing how his mind works.
I sometimes really miss seeing a lot of practical effects in more modern movies. Thr current monster films use so much greenscreen these days it feels disapointing in a way. Like they rely too heavy on cgi. I feel the films in the earlier 2000s and before really hit thr sweet spot for practical effects and cgi.
Oh, yeah! I never made the connection before. Even after you said it, I had to mentally go through the characters for a second before I figured it out.
The "angel of death" in this movie, is ultimately how the bible describes angels, without the head design. Eyes on wings. Del Toro pulls from so many sources and does such a great job, along with his crew of creature designers.
I can't remember which brother it is (I think it's Luke who's the actor, & Matt's a singer in Vegas), like Mark & Donnie Wahlberg, started in a British band in the 80's called BROS. The Shape of Water is technically grouped with Hellboy, as its the origin story of Abe, but its more a love story than a superhero story.
I saw this in theatres and didn't like it at the time, but now I love it.. just like with Blade 2. Funnily enough, both this film and Blade 2 have the same director and the same actor (Luke Goss, one half of the 80's pop group "Bros") as the main villain/antagonist.

Del Toro actually had an entire troll language created just for the writing on the troll market door (and maybe the market itself?). Gotta appreciate his level of detail.
Dr Krauss was played by Seth MacFarlane.
Really??? Wow
i prefer this one to the first one, Prince Nuada was so cool
Check out the two animated hellboy films aswell they are fantastic
Mommy I don't want to b a doctor. I want to be Prince Nuada.
Agreed lol
if they ever make a movie about the comic the darkness I hope the people who did the CGI in this movie work on it.
You should put Pan's Labrinth from del Toro on your list
@@whitenoisereacts or they sould make an aminated series.
Hope you will react to Blade 2. Ron Perlman and Luke Goss are both in it as well.
del toro's creation is always on another level....I am one of his die hard fan
Love this movie. And if you think you've seen Nuada somewhere before he played Nomak in Blade 2
Luke Goss from the pop group Bros was the guy with the white hair. He was good in this film
I love Hellboy and Abe's drunken duet; it's really a sweet scene.
Guillermo del Toro is nothing short of a genius when it comes to character design and world building. I have his book where you can see a bit of his proccess and it is amazing seeing how his mind works.
Great reaction!
Guys please watch tumbbad, you will love it
Unique species with unique designs anatomy
Prince Nuada is played by an actor that features prominently in Blade 2.
Oh, yeah! I never made the connection before. Even after you said it, I had to mentally go through the characters for a second before I figured it out.
Can’t wait to see him!!
I keep coming back to this movie and I love the designs. I want to cosplay Nuala again at one point.
Is it? I thought it was a different character
@@whitenoisereacts It's a different character -but both are played by Doug Jones 😊
A movie that kinda reminds me of help boy is League Of Extraordinary Gentleman. I don’t know why but they feel similar
What if Abe is related to the creature from shape of water?
I adore this one more
I saw this in theatres and didn't like it at the time, but now I love it.. just like with Blade 2.
Funnily enough, both this film and Blade 2 have the same director and the same actor (Luke Goss, one half of the 80's pop group "Bros") as the main villain/antagonist.
Prince Nuada is a HELL of a warrior, and so is our hero, the title character....
LITERALLY!!!!!😤
the golden army bots kinds remind me of DMT machine elves lol
Have fond memories of this movie definitely in my top favorites
Guillermo del Toro directing...you can see the fish man in Shape of Water is just like Abe Sapien. I guess Abe's romance stuck with him.
He is a master
A couple of fun facts Ron Perlman aka Hellboy was in Blade 2, also the main villain in Blade 2 also plays the Villain in Hellboy 2.
Well we are watching that very soon so can’t wait!!!
The witch is actually based on the biblical description of the higher tier Angels who have "eyes on wings".
Man, honestly, now: at least 7 or 8 advertising brakes... what the hell for?
I'm watching on a smart TV. I have no idea how to install and ad block on a TV.
I know we all need money, but every 5 or so minutes ad brakes?
luke goss is amazing. you should put the death race movies on your polls its like the video game twisted metal. heavily armed vehicles trying to kill each other.
My suggestion would be to watch Daredevil and then Elektra since they introduced her in DD and then started her storyline for her own movie. Love the reactions ❤️
we need (All THE BLADES)!!!!!!!
