Oh god, that is a tough question. I am unsure who but it’ll have to be like someone who auditions for Logan but has a more Hellboy-ish vibe. Because there is similarity in the two characters but Hellboy is like a blend of Logan and Deadpool rough exterior but funny.
Ron Perlman and Guillermo del Toro are still kind of hoping to do a Hellboy III and make a complete trilogy. They weren't able to earlier because Hellboy II came out only a couple of weeks before Batman Begins and lost a lot of viewers to it. The Hellboy reboot attempted was apparently a colossal failure.
Wow it's the man himself! A true legend mate, it's an absolute shame your treatment for Alien vs Predator didn't get made. I'd love to be lucky enough to read a script or draft of it someday! I heard it was an excellent one, and based upon this adaptation, I can confidently say your version of AvP would have been far better than what we ended up getting in 2004 lol
@@KrazzeeKane Thank-you. That's very kind. Various transcribed copies (some missing pages!) of the first "Alien vs Predator" draft I wrote are online, although not the second draft. Selma Blair (Liz) was a rising star when this movie came out. She was in many successful romcoms but unfortunately had to quit acting when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). She has trouble walking and speaking. Despite that, she is an activist for people suffering from MS, a terrible illness. Thank you, Selma! You’re very loved and your work is still appreciated today!
took four hours every day to put all the makeup & props on Ron Perlman. he did it without complaining for two whole movies and again years later for a kid in the "Make A Wish" Foundation.
Doug Jones, who plays Abe Sapian, is someone you should have an eye on while going through these Guillermo del Toro films. He does amazing physical and prosthetic acting, and stars in Pan's Labyrinth, The Shape Of Water, and Hellboy 2, where he has no less than 3 roles!
I met him once at a Sci fi convention, he had a panel all about his career starting with miming.....he was so sweet, you just had to go up to him and he'd give a big bear hug and take pictures with you no charge.
He also plays Cochise the Volm on "Falling Skies" and physically wore the Silver Surfer suit in "Fantastic Four:Rise of the Silver Surfer" which Laurence Fishburne(Morpheus from the original "Matrix" trilogy and "Matrix Online")voiced.
Hellboy 2004 is an awesome comic book film, and I really love the mix between Gothic and HP Lovecraft. As a person who has read the comics, it is ‘good’ but not accurate representation of the comics. The comics are in a entire league of their own, and is honestly one of the best things I’ve read. It is up there with Berserk. Nonetheless the 2004 film is better than the 2019 movie, and Ron Perlman was born to play Hellboy, just his voice alone is so Hellboy. Look forward to Hellboy 2 The Golden Army reaction. Edit: I recommend reading the Hellboy comic. It is worth the time and investment.
hellboy creator mike mignola worked on this movie, and from what i gathered mikes input was to make this film how he envisioned it, so if anything this is accurate enough since its the creators input that shaped the film
@@KaregoAt yeah, its like how the one piece live action strays from the original anime and manga, but oda himself was heavily involved, like the perlman hellboy films, it means the creator iss adapting there own creation to fit the medium

I like how HB is more of a local hero type like DD. Even though he's fighting super beings it still feels grounded in the local area. Instead of the super team up type film for Avengers.
Good point, almost like a fantastical more experienced/been there done that Ghostbuster. For lack of a better example, I mean paranormal is in the name.
Which is ironic considering that all 4 of his movies (Guillermo del Toro 2 and the 2 animated ones) are all globe-trotting Yet even with that they feel grounded and local stories
Yeah, I think Hellboy 2 is a great companion to this film. I never saw the remake, but I did see about 3-4 minutes of a fighting scene & it made me very sad. I was actually sad for a couple hours after I watched it, so I can’t see myself ever seeing it, unless it was to save the world or something. This movie always reminded me of "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" in certain respects. It's also based on a comic book (graphic novel) series. Wonderful merging of practical effects and CGI. I highly recommend it; it brings together a number of characters from various historical authors contemporary to the Victorian steampunk setting. I think it's Rasputin and the mechanical Kroenen that seems to have come through that steampunk period to modern day that is the link between the two films; they share a sensibility.

Hellboy, Spawn, Watchmen and The League of Extraordinary Gentleman are all must watch superheroes movies! Great reaction! I truly love this movie and the comics as well. Go for the sequel! The effects made a huge jump even thou those were perfectly done for the 2000's
Hellboy comes from Dark Horse Comics, which are very much known to take comics to a darker place like Hellboy, Sin City, Umbrella Academy, 300, The Mask, and more. They're also responsible for many comic-told continuations of famous franchises such as Star Wars, Alien, Avatar the Last Airbender, Terminator, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Critical Role, and beyond.
I love the first and second movie so much and I'm still forever sad that Del Toro didn't get to close out the trilogy like he wanted to. These movies got me into the comics and made me into a life long fan of Del Toro and Ron Pearlman
I’ll always have a soft spot for Ron Perlman, ever since I was 13 & saw Quest for Fire, which is a bomb-ass movie, in need of some reactions. Anyway, I’ve loved the guy ever since..
Quest For Fire is beyond interesting. My dad had me watch it as a teen. I still remember how intriguing the story is and hope they take your suggestion.
Quest for Fire is the most under-rated movie ever made. Other good Ron Perlman films are Cronos (the first del Toro-Perlman movie) and The City of Lost Children. Love him as Hellboy but, imo, his earliest performances were his best.
Kinda obsessive with this film. To the point that I had a red iPod back in the day inscribed: ''If Lost Please Return To The B.P.R.D.''. Then got Hellboy's creator Mike Mignola to autograph it. He was super cool.
Nice. This is what happens when you take a beloved indie comic book and fight hard to keep the studio from interfering. This one is amazingly good. The sequel is decent as well.

if you're interested there are actually two animated hellboy films as well! Sword of Storms and Blood and Iron and I believe they're meant to take place before the 2004 film and include some extras characters from the comics (and the actors reprise their roles for the voice acting)
HOW THE HELL AM I THIS LATE! I was just searching for OG hellboy reaction vids on RUclips like 2 weeks ago... did I mention I have been subscribed to you two for atleast a year and a half? XD

A lot of people dislike these films 2019 understandable but I kinda liked it. I grew up with these movies which seems strange. I just enjoy whatever I watch without pretending to act like a nostalgia critic.

Hellboy II is probably my favourite superhero movie! I hope you enjoy it ❤
Oh, oh, oh, my god! That’s my favourite watch Hellboy movie 1 (2004) And Hellboy The Golden Army Two (2008)! 🤩👍🎥🍿Best movie!
I don't think I'll ever be able to separate Pearlman from Sons of Anarchy
Guillermo de toro also did the series trollhunters tales of Arcadia which I really enjoyed. It may not be the best but it gave me motivation and ideas for one of my final 3D animation project
Ohh I’ve yet to watch the video but I was just thinking of this film yesterday and saw this pop up! It’s a childhood favorite so I’m so looking forward to seeing what you all have to say about it!
I would highly suggest also watching the animated hellboy movies ("Sword of Storms" and "Blood and Stone") there sort of cannon with the Guillermo del Toro hellboy movies but also sort of not
Hellboy's revolver is like a Warhammer 40K bolt pistol.
Have you guys seen "The Crow"? If you want a different take on the superhero theme, that's the one.
