Doctor Doom is my favourite Marvel villain and absolutely deserves justice on the big screen as the character reflects a Shakespeare character who has suffered and lost so much, that he could never learn to trust anyone, and learned to master all forms of science and magic to earn his title and thoroughly believes he can save the world, just as he was able to save Latveria from poverty and tyranny by overthrowing the oppressors. I truly hope Marvel Studios take their time when adapting Doom as the character, should be completely fleshed out in order to feel invested in his character and his rivalry with Reed and The Fantastic Four. Despite his origins and powers being changed and the missing accent, I think Julian McMahon played him perfectly for what he was given. He convincingly plays a villain, similar to his roles in Charmed & MARVEL'S The Runaways. Also. Chris Evans has said that he would be interested in reappearing in the MCU but as this version of The Human Torch. I loved how the dalmatian shielded her eyes before the fire engine's accident. The Fantastic Four is very significant in the Marvel Universe, because it all started with them. That 's why they're called Marvel's First Family. Although this film wasn't that popular I still think that they covered a great origin story except for Dr. Doom. He barely has any resemblance to the comic book source. Hopefully, the MCU's reboot can correct all that. Pixar actually made a great FF movie in the form of the Incredibles. Maybe Brad Bird should direct the new film. He did wonders with the Incredibles and the Iron Giant.
13:40 Mr Fantastic's powers are surprisingly versatile tbh. Not only can he stretch, flatten & create all kinds of shapes w/ his body 41:1241:58 (like Elastigirl), he's acc also pretty much indestructible (punches, bullets, explosions, etc can't harm him).
Dr. Doom doesn’t like turn into metal he usually just has a mechanical suit he can fly in and shit, He even knows magic. in the comics is the definition of built different in my opinion. Yea I own and rule my own country that you can’t fuck with, yea I have an army of Doom bots that are just like me and listen only to me, yea I could cure Ben at any time if I wanted to. What of it.
in the comics Doom is a combination between Magic and Tech, also he's not a rich corp guy he's the leader of his own Country think like Evil Black Panther.
I had theory Ben been the only one wearing spacesuit in the movie that was large and bulky with way effected by radiation exposure was reason he got his abilities as been solid
Dr Doom is one of the coolest villains in the comics, in the secret wars run (which people predict will be the next big Marvel phase) he gets unlimited power. And in a what if run he literally becomes God Emperor Doom
I saw the first Fantastic 4 in 2005,on the big screen. It was exciting and fun. I loved it. Fantastic cast. Chris Evans stole the movie. He loved Johnny Storm being turned into a celebrity. Stan Lee ‘s cameos alway fun to see. ❤❤❤ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I like all of the fantastic 4 and how they are portrayed. But ben grimm aka the thing will always be my favorite character. He is just your genuine run of the mill guy. He's strong and smart. Which is rare for the hero type, besides spiderman or ironman, I think he stands out more than the other three.
Great reaction! I have fond memories of this movie as I watched it when I was growing up. I know John Krasinksi is a fan favourite for Reed Richards, but I think Danny Pudi would also make a great Reed - blending the awkward scientist and brave hero. I don't have any strong picks for the other roles, maybe Alison Brie for Sue Storm as she and Danny have great chemistry but I hope they give lesser known actors a chance in general.
Aight so the thing about Doom is... they got him really wrong in this movie. In the early comics, he had no powers at all, he was just a really smart scientist with a suit of high-tech armour that could surpass Iron Man even on his best day. He could do damn near anything (fly, shoot lasers from his hands, etc), but it was all just part of his suit's technology. Behind that he was simply a really smart dude. In later years (around the 90s / 2000s) they made him into a sorcerer, granting him control over magic of all kinds, meaning he could once again do basically anything he wanted. Teleport, throw fireballs, etc. For the movie... as much as I like it, they really had no idea what they were doing with him. I guess the idea is his powers are themed around 'power' itself, hence controlling electricity and such, but then they throw in him also turning to metal, I guess to work in the 'armour suit' idea mentioned above, but it really goes nowhere and just kinda confuses the issue. Everyone else's powers are clear-cut and obvious, but Doom's powers are just kinda random. The sad thing is, there's never really been a singular 'good' version of Fantastic Four outside of the comics. There's cartoons and a few movies, but they've all been hit-and-miss. As I said, I actually like these mid-2000s movies, but they're FAR from perfect. We've had god knows how many Batman, Superman and Spider-Man movies, and everyone can point to at least one that's considered the 'best'... Fantastic Four has NEVER had that luxury. It's honestly kinda depressing. All that being said, there were some nice parts of these movies, like all the little touches carried over from the ocmics. Stan Lee having a cameo as the mailman Willie Lumpkin, Alicia Masters (the blind girl) being Ben's girlfriend by the end, Doom originally coming from Latveria. It shows there was SOME amount of effort put into the film. It falls short in a few places, but it wasn't totally brain-dead.
What blows my mind is that in the actual comic lore. Doctor doom is the smartest person in the entire universe. He's on par with celestials in his amount of knowledge.
Fun Fact: Julian McMahon who plays Dr Vincent Doom is an Australian born actor & his father Sir William “Billy” McMahon was the 20th Prime Minister of Australia.
The Fantastic Four really are an excellent comic back in the old days and have tons of potential on what they can do, time travel, dimensional travel, far future tech in present day, a super team based in science to solve problems. Their called the Marvel's First Family because they're not only a team but a family, even their powers demonstrate their traits within the family steuben (Reed is flexible and stretchy towards problems, Sue thinks she's goes unseen and puts up walls so she goes invisible and creates force fields, Johnny is a hot head that acts without thinking and Ben is the rock that everyone leans on). It's a bit difficult for modern audiences o grasp that quality because family is what it was back in the 60's. That's why this is a bit goofy but the Incredibles captured it the way this movie didn't.
The Fantastic Four are elemental based in their power design: Reed/Mr. Fantastic = Water, Ben/Thing = Earth, Sue/Invisible Girl/Woman = Air, and Johnny/Human Torch = Fire. I always thought that was cool.
This movie is better than than a lot of people make it out to be, but it is definitely better than Fantastic Four (2015)! This is my favorite Marvel superhero team! Ben Grimm/the Thing is one of Stan Lee's best creations! Dr. Doom is what George Lucas based Darth Vader on
Yes! It is so good and so much fun! Actually a lot of Chris Evans' movies are really good and that I would love to see these guys react to. Like of course Cellular, The Losers, Gifted, Punctured, What's Your Number is a very funny comedy that I wish he did more of, Snowpiecer and he was great in the miniseries Defending Jacob. He's come a long way since Fantastic Four!
i just saw this movie recently i thought it was good and by the way the first fantastic four movie is from 1994 but it was never officially released but its available online as pirated copies !
Something a lot of people confuse is the differentiation between mutate and mutant. Mutates develop their powers only after exposure to outside stimuli or energies (the Hulk, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and Captain Marvel). Mutants have actual genetic mutations, the dormant X-Gene (The X-Men, The Brotherhood, New Mutants, and Mauraders).
To explain Dr. Doom would be to explain an absolute horror show. Doom was a candidate for sorcerer supreme. So going up against him would be like going to against Dr. Strange on top of that thanks to a bad deal with the Devil Mephisto he has one of the most advanced suits in the world rivaling Iron Man and in some cases surpassing. To top even that he's a time traveler who will literally lock himself in a time chamber sort of situation where he's tinkering with all sorts of gadgets so that when he decides he goes back in time to the day he started working on the invention basically overnighting things that normally would take years, into days instead. If that wasn't enough he can safely enlarge or shrink things with ease thanks to his inventions making him a match for Ant Man. Though I think his form of size manipulation can't be done on the living or some other limitation pretty sure it's not as good as Ant Man's. Basically to beat Dr. Doom you would need a character capable of taking out Iron Man, Ant Man, and Dr Strange with time manipulation. All at the same time. Doom's biggest flaw he is all that and he knows it. That is to say he's arrogant as all hell. Oh and he has a thing for Sue Storm. Also he's the supreme Sovereign of Latveria not King mind you. So he has comic book diplomatic immunity. So in the above mixture add in Black Panther too. Fighting Doom is literally going up against a Sovereign nation. And in the comics he is probably the best Robotic engineer even surpassing Iron Man in that department but those are just my opinions on the matter.
Sue's Power isn't light, it's a little more complicated than that, her body produces certain types of energy, her body cells produce an unknown energy that somehow makes light completely pass through her body, Her neural cells on the other hand produce another type of energy that condenses in the form of force fields whose shape, size and density she is able to freely manipulate
Chris Evans' 1st stint as a Marvel character- the fiery Johnny Storm, The Human Torch!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Fast forward 5 years, and he becomes The First Avenger, the patriotic Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America in the now established Marvel Cinematic Universe!!!!🇺🇸
This is a classic, very nostalgic, for me at least. Most of the powers were CGI but I think for Reed's power, it was a mix of CGI and perspective filming, I'm not sure. Please watch the second movie, because you get the silver surfer
I’m sure other people have already told you this but in the comics doom was a rich genius evil sorcerer… he didn’t have natural superpowers….he was also a leader in his country…
Comic Dr. Doom is so powerful and so strong of will that not only has be effectively taken on the entire Avengers team, _and won,_ but at one point he also went to hell to save his mother, faced *the devil,* *_and won!_* His sheer arrogance has carried him into more success than it has failure, as well as it being one of, if not his most endearing and popular characteristic.
Loved this reaction guys! I'm really glad you were able to watch it as just a movie rather than a Marvel movie if that makes sense. If you just watch it as a movie, it's actually pretty good in my opinion. I've always liked The Fantastic Four.

So in the context of the comics, because of the persecution against the mutants like the X-Men, it was soft-retconned in the comics that it was Reed himself who decided to make the four of them into some sort of celebrities. So that him and and his family don't have to face the fear humans have with mutants. Also the Fantastic Four are dubbed "Marvel's First Family", because not only are they one of Stan Lee's first breakout creations, but in-universe lore, The Fantastic Four were the first known superpowered people who went public with their identities and made a superhero group, inspiring other groups like The Avengers.
I had a dream once and it was Epic Lou Ferrigno Hulk vs this Ben Grimm fighted each other from what I remember of the dream the fight was in town square I woke up with tears of joy after I woke up I wanted to go back to sleep to continue on with the fight that is how good the fight was

Words cannot express how excited I am to see the Fantastic Four join the MCU, especially when you add Dr. Doom to the equation! Can't wait to see Marvel's "First Family" done to its greatest potential
In the comics, Victor Von Doom has no super powers. Picture Dr. Doom as an evil narcissistic Tony Stark, in technologically advanced medieval armor and hooded cloak … a scientific genius … into black magic and the occult … ruling his own Eastern European country with an iron fist from the dark lair of his castle fortress.
So, Been Grimm (The Thing) is Hulk level strong. His defining trait is unbreakable will. He's as tough as stone. Johnny Storm (Human Torch) can be the single hottest thing in existence. Figuratively and literally. Susan Storm, can manipulate light to make herself invisible and create forcefields. Reed Richards, smartest man in Marvel. Mr. Fantastic. Super stretchy and endurent. Team leader of the Fantastic 4. Dr Doom. Their Magneto. One of the smartest humans. Matter of both technology and magic. Imagine Dr. Strange, Iron Man, and Obadiah Stain (Iron Monger) all in one human. He is a problem. Usually because he's right. His only weakness is hubris. He believes he is the only one capable of ruling everyone. And he very well may be right again

Chris Evens AKA Cap..and Johnny Storm said recently he would come back as the same character...since they just introduced the Fantastic 4 in the last Dr.strange movie.....
Lastly, idk if you guys take recommendations in the comments but I would love for you guys to react to The Fifth Element (1997). Dope reactions as always!!
Facts
8:53 He watched the flowers scene and sneezes Lol
I legit love this movie lol and it's crazy how Chris Evans got to play 2 completely opposite Marvel characters so well
With this movie my Marvel journey started. It has a special place in my heart. Love it!!!
Ppl want to hate on this movie a lot but it's actually better than most movie's we get currently. It's so underrated.
I honestly hope they don't botch the upcoming F4 movie.
@@fynnthefox9078 Abandon that hope, you know they will. We can't have all straight four white characters. One of them has to be Non-Binary, another gay, another black now these days. SMH😮💨
@@beautifulbliss5883 Honestly how many gay superheros have you seen on screen so far? Beside having a deverse cast dosn't nesessarily mean a move is bad.
Reed and Sue have 2 kids in comics, Franklin and Valeria.
Franklin also is a mutant more powerful than Chatles Xavier.
@@JuntosXlaLibertadMileyBuIIrich I think he lost his powers, but yeah, his mind abilities exceeded almost everyone’s.
This was the first marvel movie I watched since I am a part of Gen Z and this made me fall in love with sci-fi and stuff (superhero movies in general)
13:40 Mr Fantastic's powers are surprisingly versatile tbh. Not only can he stretch, flatten & create all kinds of shapes w/ his body 41:12 41:58 (like Elastigirl), he's acc also pretty much indestructible (punches, bullets, explosions, etc can't harm him).
I had theory Ben been the only one wearing spacesuit in the movie that was large and bulky
with way effected by radiation exposure was reason he got his abilities as been solid
OMG DID YOU JUST SAY CONSTANTINE?!!! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THAT!!
Yep!!
30:42 I remember going to Burger King a lot as a kid just to get the toys for this movie and the sequel and got all the characters :D
Along my favorite moments is the ending battle. Each one had a crucial part to play in defeating Doom and I love that. 😊
Dr Doom is one of the coolest villains in the comics, in the secret wars run (which people predict will be the next big Marvel phase) he gets unlimited power. And in a what if run he literally becomes God Emperor Doom
This was one of my Dads favorite movies and he had no interest in most superhero movies so I always found that so amusing
I saw the first Fantastic 4 in 2005,on the big screen. It was exciting and fun. I loved it. Fantastic cast. Chris Evans stole the movie. He loved Johnny Storm being turned into a celebrity. Stan Lee ‘s cameos alway fun to see. ❤❤❤ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'm excited for Constantine 🌌💖💖
You guys will love it!!
And now is time for Fantastic 4 II ~ !! Go Go !!
Watching your guys' reaction to this was so cool it was really fun reliving this movie again. I enjoyed it so much as a kid
🙏🏽💪👏
06:56 loooool, yeah, never noticed
IT'S CLOBBERING TIME🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ohhhh yeaaaahhhh!!!
Boyz. Your house lights go on & off like that? Run. Anywhere.
But run.
Fun Fact: Julian McMahon who plays Dr Vincent Doom is an Australian born actor & his father Sir William “Billy” McMahon was the 20th Prime Minister of Australia.
Fun Fact: They are Marvel's First Family.
That's why this is a bit goofy but the Incredibles captured it the way this movie didn't.
this youngeer chris evans reminds of a very good thriller with him called Cellular. I recommend you guys check this out later!!
The Fantastic Four are elemental based in their power design: Reed/Mr. Fantastic = Water, Ben/Thing = Earth, Sue/Invisible Girl/Woman = Air, and Johnny/Human Torch = Fire. I always thought that was cool.
There’s already hints that Victor Vondoom is going to be in the MCU since his company is seen in the moonknight series
This movie is better than than a lot of people make it out to be, but it is definitely better than Fantastic Four (2015)! This is my favorite Marvel superhero team! Ben Grimm/the Thing is one of Stan Lee's best creations! Dr. Doom is what George Lucas based Darth Vader on
You guys should react to Cellular (2004), it also started Chris Evans and has an amazing cast. The action, the thrill, are all worth it 🚗👍😲
Oooooh I am so excited to see you react to both Blade Trinity and Constantine. These movies are my ‘guilty pleasure’ movies.
Yeah we are going deep on these!!
ooo love Constantine! I know Keanu isn't a conventional fit for the comic book character as he's not British or blonde but I loved him in it.
@@roguechevelle me too! And Rachel Weisz and Peter Stormare are also fabulous in it.
i just saw this movie recently i thought it was good and by the way the first fantastic four movie is from 1994 but it was never officially released but its available online as pirated copies !
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fast forward 5 years, and he becomes The First Avenger, the patriotic Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America in the now established Marvel Cinematic Universe!!!!🇺🇸
Great reaction!
Victor should have pulled a Willem Dafoe and yell: You know how much I sacrificed?!
I really liked this movie no it’s not accurate but it’s actually a really enjoyable movie to watch.
I forgot the guy who plays Cole Turner was in this movie!
I love this movie,i don't remember the second one much but this one is super fun
Such a classic. This film is my childhood
Loved this reaction guys! I'm really glad you were able to watch it as just a movie rather than a Marvel movie if that makes sense. If you just watch it as a movie, it's actually pretty good in my opinion. I've always liked The Fantastic Four.
Honestly it’s really not bad. There is Marvek stuff that is definitely worse
Brothers... Dr Strange 2 is now available on digital on Disney plus.
You should check out the Roger Corman B-Movie "The Fantastic Four" from 1994! It was made just to keep the rights of the franchise from reverting back to Marvel... but it was never officially released. It's on RUclips though...
I ENJOYED THIS MOVIE AS IT WAS FUN AND ENTERTAINING👍😄🔥. I WATCHED IT AS A KID AND WHEN I WATCH IT NOW ITS SO DIFFERENT AS IT MAKES ME LAUGH AT CERTAIN THINGS BUT ITS FUN AT THE SAME TIME👏👏. I LOVED CHRIS EVANS IN THIS FILM AS HIS ROLE AS JOHNNY WAS HILARIOUS AND FUN TO WATCH. VICTOR DOOM WAS AMAZING AS WELL AS HE IS MY FAVORITE VILLAIN IN ANY SUPERHERO MOVIE IVE WATCHED
technically not the original, that would be the 1994 roger corman film
The 2 Fantastic Four movies are really underrated and you should definitely check out Rise of the Silver Surfer which is the sequel to this film, and imo opinion better film. But I love this first one. 👍🏼
Doom looking like Palpatine with that electricity and hood
The energy from the storm in space is the same energy that Wanda created her hex from. 😍
Wait really?? That's cool!
@@whitenoisereacts Yup! It's what gave Monica Rambeau her powers ^_^
what version of the movie was this? on the dvd i own, there is no susan and reed movie scene, and instead of victor saying "bring me the lab rat" he says "bring ben grimm to the baxter building"
This was actually a good movie
Man i feel so old seeing this movie
Jessica Alba....mmm ugh so fkin hot.....prob one of the most perfect women ever.... she quit acting , got into cosmetics..and now she's a billionaire....
Dr. Doom is one of the most dangerous villians in the MCU top 3 last I read...
I had a dream once and it was Epic Lou Ferrigno Hulk vs this Ben Grimm fighted each other from what I remember of the dream the fight was in town square I woke up with tears of joy after I woke up I wanted to go back to sleep to continue on with the fight that is how good the fight was
Well saw as a kid the good old days
Bro I only know the 3 actors that is Chris evans, ms invisible, and doom the actor plays in charmed he plays a great bad guy and fakes being good or is good and he’s just great
Can you do a movie review in movie heat with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino
Limitless (2011) with Bradley Cooper PLEASE!
Doom is the smartest and powerful person in the universe
Words cannot express how excited I am to see the Fantastic Four join the MCU, especially when you add Dr. Doom to the equation! Can't wait to see Marvel's "First Family" done to its greatest potential
I hope he’s the first big bad!!
Are you reacting to the second part?
