Thanks guys! Been in pain for a minute now and this is defiantly helping. I have proper sore feet all the times and have done so for 3 years now and tried foot and ankle rehab work but I didn’t think that my knees buckling could be the problem. Thank you so much for enlightening me on my problem and helping others!! God Bless.

Hello Sir! I tore my ACL and PLC completely in 2011 and underwent ACLreconstruction and PLC reinforcement in 2012. The results were great , my leg felt same as before. 2 months back I reinjured my ACL while playing football. My surgeon said he cant say whether it is fully gone or a partial stretch. MRI says mild degeneration near Tibial attachment of the graft. I feel unstable while walking . My surgeon has given me 3 months time to strenghten my knee. But I dont know which exercises to do as if I do some heavy exercises ( Knee extension with weights , squats) my knee starts paining and I feel that my implants pain. I am totally devastated when I read that that outcomes f 2nd surgery are not as good as 1st. I would like to hear something from you about my condition. Any reply from your side would be helpful. Thanks.

i had a medial miniscus operation on my right knee over 50 yrs ago in 1970 when i was in the u.s air force. i have not had hardly any problems in that time even though i had a very physical job as a power company lineman and very active in life. out of nowhere recently i've started getting pain and weakness in the knee. does that sound like some underlying condition which would require a doctor visit? i'm gonna try your suggestions and i am familiar with the first excersise and have used it often over the years. i am 71yrs. old. thnx.

Hi doctors ,I got my revision tkr surgery seven months ago. I do half an hour walk both morning and evening. Outside I use a stick.Quite often I feel my keep is going in for buckling. Luckily so far I am able to prevent any fall.
While on a visit after surgery the doctor told me about some fibrosis as the gap between two surgeries was about 75 days as I had Corona in between.
Please suggest me to prevent this buckling.

Bob and Brad, a geriatric patient at a skilled nursing setting, has knee buckling but no c/o pain. I did seated exercises with #2 wts along standing proprioception-lateral sways stable/airex very minimally without c/o pain. But next day, she flared up. How do you reason with this? I have director of rehab who is a COTA, tell me not to do exercises, but did anyway because one needs strengthing, but she is very upset that I did this when she told me not to.

I had a work injury and went from 110lbs to 90lbs. I used to have a 6 pack, but now all the muscles are gone from the ribs down. I don't have a disease or anything, it's just that I was walking on the right side of my right foot for more than 6 months because my Janitor job was very hard and too stressful. I didn't know I was walking on the right side : I just knew that no right shoes fit and my knee was always numb.
Since I got laid-off on June 28th of this year, I soon discovered I was walking on the right side of my right foot and tried to correct my foot. Everything hurts, I'm going to a foot doctor, but that was only since August.
Please give me some tips to straightening my feet, ankles.
Thank you so much. I can't afford Physiotherapy.

Great 3 exercises love them. I have not seen these shown anywhere else AND that 3rd exercise is in my book Therapuetic exercise: Moving toward function. That said, should this exercise be done only on the buckling knee or both? My right knee has been feeling unstable lately. I just did the first and third exercise. I liked the way it felt. I will have to find a bench or chair I can lean on to do the 2nd exercise. But that said, how many times per week and how many sets should I be doing? I read in a comment you said 4 days per week. Great video thanks!

***** Thank you so much! I have mild genu varum in my knees, pronating feet and some hallux valgus of my big toe. I'm trying to preserve my body as long and as well as possible. My right knee goes through phases of feeling rubbery or unstable. I typically ice it in the morning and do many PT-type exercises for it. But these are new and I like them. No pain though. I got orthotics with a medial wedge and a metatarsal pad. I am noticing with mal-alignment, it's like a trickle-chain effect of compensations that can tighten muscles and create imbalances. But I'm working to "actively" re-balance these imbalances by strengthening the weakened muscles and stretching the tightened muscles.

Hey Bob and Brad been following your channel just started doing these simple exercise seems to be ok
I have pretty bad osteo arthritis and have implemented this simple strategy just one qs can i use the big yoga or exercise ball instead of the little one against the wall standing up for knee buckle which i just been happening the last 2 days its frightening as you don't expect when you are just about to fall and it hurts for a few seconds then it ok
ps i love the exercise with the chair so simple but effective how long should I do this for a week or so ?

I've been having my knee buckle a lot more frequently and with it extreme sharp pain. It is quite frightening. It happens a lot when going up and down stairs. I used to be a daily jogger but pretty much gave that up in my early 50's. Now I swim and walk. I will need to visit the doc but I'll keep these exercises in mind. They look good. Thanks heaps. I do exercises the physio gave me for my back & it is way better but my body still aches at night or if I sleep more than 5 hours. The knee buckling happens in the right knee & the sharp pain comes at the same time at the front right side of the knee. I have to be careful with the left knee as when I kneel on that l get a very sharp pain too.

so i pulled my back kinda bad a week ago.
Was really stiff, and painful around the knee.
A few days go by and then I pull it in the same spot again on Saturday.
It's now Tuesday and my knee has been giving way completely since Sunday along with numbness and swelling in my entire knee and inner thigh.
I've fallen about 10 times already in the span of two days.
I'm only 29 but I know falls can lead to other more serious problems.
I got a brace yesterday evening.
    It helps.
My knee still gives but now the brace catches it before I completely fall.
I'm gonna give these excercise a try because I need to miss as little work as possible.

Same experience I had. Back problem for a week, then a buckling knee 3 days afterwards and tremendous pain in kneecap, tibia, front of thigh, side of hip, throbbing femoral nerve. Can’t sleep at night. Went to an osteopath this morning. He said I should feel some improvement by Monday…today is Friday. He recommended seeing an osteoarthritis doctor. Also not to do my 3 times weekly walk.

I’m a 13 year old soccer player, and that often happens to me. I’ve been walking with my right leg straight since monday and it is normally about 2 to 6 days, due to knee pain (i can walk normal now, but it will start again as soon as i go back on the field), and i can’t use my right leg to sit down, get up from a chair, do squads... and i’m only 13.
In february this year, i was on my way to school, and when i was just about to get out of the bus, my knee buckled, and i fell.
I’m gonna start physical therapy on wednesday, and i’m hoping it will help!🤞
I’ve been at the doctor’s office 4 times, at the hospital to see a specialist 1 time, at the hospital to get an X-ray of my knee 1 time, and 4 different doctors with my knee, since the beginning of this year.
I have literally NO strenght left in my right leg:/

About 6 weeks ago I had a back fusion my third and he redid l34 and I was just starting to get some relief and last night I was getting a drink of water and my knees just buckled on me there's no pain in my knees they buckled and I fell right on my rear end on my cat food and then I basically hit my head it's terrifying no warning or anything it's never happened to be in my life and I'm sure it has to do with having to be in bed so much I had an infection from a bone graft and so on. I recently had to cut out some of my supplements and I cut out the glucosamine and the chondroitin, the sulfur type and it really helped my knees years ago and I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it or if it's just because you know I think my knees are I mean my legs have been atrophied because I have not been able exercise yet. it was recommended to me by my chiropractor to get a number 5 ball a child's ball at Target and when my SI joints go out to put it right where your crack is in the middle and relax into it so when I get that ball I will try to get this one as well thank you so much.

Could the issues be caused by being overweight?

What about doing squats? Does that do a better job or are these three the best ones for the buckle problem. Because my leg is weak from having a ruptured quad where they had to reconnect my tendon. So I was off my feet for months. I'm at the point where I'm walking but like in the video the right leg (which is the real weak one and one with the surgery) does exactly as you said where the knee is at that angle and it wants to collapse and I catch myself.

    quick question:
My left knee buckles, clicks and there is abit of pain on the inside of the knee cap when i climb up or down stairs. i did x ray and showed join space narrowing on one side of the knee joint which i think is causing the pain on the inside of the knee cap, thus, causing the femur and tibia bones to rub against each other...
thats my understanding but i could be wrong and it might be just weak quads causing the kneecap to click and buckle...my left quads looks smaller than my right leg quads..
will these 3 exercises help me get back healthy knees again? ive not done any surgery..i got the knee injury 5 months ago and the nature of the injury, pain seems to evolve abit..is it a sign of improvement?
I appreciate any good advise from you guys. Thanks!

What else could cause knee buckling when climbing stairs? I ask because strength probably isn't the issue. I have hiked to the Grand Canyon bottom and back three times (age 62, 66 and 68) over a 5 day period each time. I camped throughout the trips, so I carried 20-30 lb. backpack each time. The third time I used hiking poles. I had no issues. My knee buckling started about 6 month after the third trip. It is occasional. I walk 5 miles often with no issues. Only climbing stairs. There is some pain going down stairs sometimes. Only my right knee is a problem.
Do you have any idea what my problem is?

no they didn't. and tbh i dont know, that was 4 months ago i finished my work out with back knee pain only when bending the knee. but i didnt rest so i think i did overwork it also. i thought its the lateral meniscus cause it never gets better, swollen around the patella increased and pain developed even while resting .

I am an older female and I keep active enough- I think- but sometimes I do feel pain in my knee and other places, too, shoulders, etc. Maybe arthritis. But I would think that taking off the weight would NOT cause my knee to buckle . Maybe keeping the weight ON actually strengthened my knee? But no way am I going to put that weight back on! I'll try the exercises.

My knees are so weird , so in the beginning of the year I injured it when I fell of my motorbike (I do enduro) and I fell down a hill and my right leg bent backwards by the knee and like "got stuck " we had to un click it (I dont know If that makes sense?) Anyways , my knee became swollen and I couldn't really put weight on it . I went to a chiropractor (I think that's what they are called) and he told me I have lose tendons or something and said I was double jointed, he then said I must go for an MRI which would determine if my ACL was torn and if it was I would need knee reenactment surgery or something, but luckily my kneecap was just bruised and I was told I had to strengthen it ... now I've been doing knee strengthening exercises and my knee was better. So 6 months later , which is now. We went riding again and I fell , when I was getting onto my motorbike my left knee just randomly gave in and I fell in the water, my knee gave in twice that day and now its swollen and sore . So I dont know what's wrong with my knees . Are they weak ,but they cant be because I have been doing all these exercises and I dont want it to happen again because its sore . My right knee also just randomly gave in at school one day, I was walking on the netball court and then just fell because my knee gave in... (this is such a long story , I'm sorry)

I had an ACL surgery on my right knee almost 3 years ago everything went fine and I dont have any problem with Bending or stretching my knee but I realized that even know when I put some how of an angled pressure or a jump on there is a severe pain and feeling of my knee giving away sometimes following by swollen knee for a few days, I talked to my doctor about it and he said your knee will never be the same but then I have read some articles about ACL operation and knee joints that basically said It can be the same and people woth ACl surgeries are able to do what ever a regular person can do from jumping to extreme sports.
Can you tell me if my problem is permanent or there is a way??
