I have snapping sound in hips knees shoulders and elbow even neck and vertebrae area ( the back) , no pain but the sound, is that tendons or ligaments snapping on bone,???is it possible for LCL to snapp or slide on a bone I feared about that?
My knees started popping and cracking. Every time I bent it on. I was about 14 and everybody told me I wasn’t going to be a problem. They lied. It is now a problem 30 years later.
This might not be you at all but I have this problem with my elbows and knees. Was embarrassing doing push ups in PE as a pre teen with all the loud cracks and pops. I have ehlers danlos hypermobile. Not sure if you might have that. Can’t do anything for it but just help the symptoms. Doctors have no idea and are not helpful. But looking up physical therapy and buying braces for when I break out in tendinitis. I say that because I get tendinitis when doing normal everyday tasks.
Popping and clicking is very normal, unless you've had an injury then it's normal like everyone else that has it, your muscles are just so weak they click against your bones 😂
My left knee have been popping and locking for 3 years. Ive tried pt to strengthen the vmo muscle but no help, 3 years further and still my knee snaps when bending. It feels locked really tight when bending. What to do
I swear your timing is impeccable! I just blew my ACL yesterday. Your examples are so helpful. My doctor did the 1st test and said the same thing you said about being able to live without an ACL. He suggested a good brace and 10 days of rest.
Actually, it’s meniscus tears, not ACL. Not hormone-related, but anatomy: females have a wider pelvis than males, so the leg joint is at more of an angle, making it less stable in certain movements.
I have it band syndrome. Been standing on the steps on my bad leg while lowering my other leg to the next step down. I've also been doing weightless split squats. My leg has since been a lot better.
MSG. Contd. My left leg's ankle troubles me while walking. Recently I have purchased special sports shoes with arch shape, which are very comfortable when I go for a walk. 👍🙏👍
Can a torn ACL be repaired after ignoring it for 20 years? I also had a miniscus -sectomy years earlier on that knee. After 20 years as a couch potato, I have lost the fat and have been doing exercises recommended on your channel for the past 6 months. I was formerly a ski instructor and am hoping to get back into shape (age 70) and resume skiing next winter. Do I have any hope?
"Bend on your good knee...." Me: Oh shoot, I don't have a good knee! LOL I get Coolief injections to help me endure the pain. For me, and I weigh 280 pounds at 5'9, it gives me more movement with not as much pain. I was almost immobile, I'd done the steroid shots (VERY BAD reaction) and had the chiropractor helping (he was able to keep it from grinding with his thumper thingee). My Ins says that I'm too young for a new knee at 52, I call BS because I know enough others my age that had better ins and got it done. Two others who "aged up" and were in the new age bracket, were then told they were too old now. Basically it would be a waste of time seeing as they didn't have long on this plane lol How ridiculous!
The first two didn't bother my knee, but wow....what it did to my ankle! I've been in PT for over a year. First, I had complex spinal fusion due to scoliosis. I started PT but my bp kept dropping and everybody was afraid to push me (got down to 50/30 on tilt table test). I eventually did fall and broke my right ankle, so started PT for that. I eventually came off all pain killers, bp stopped dropping so I was able to start PT for my back and it helped some but I was still in pain. Then, my right hip developed some extreme pain every time I tried to get in and out of a car, slacks or my bed. Therapist thought is was comparable to a rotator cuff problem but in my hip. Things were moving along well, but as I started doing exercises that stressed my knee, the right knee started hurting. I could do one rep of 15 but never got halfway through the second rep. These were squats, quick sitting and standing without pushing off the chair, and stepping up a step then down a step. I'm continuing to do what I can each day but don't want to end up back in PT again. I love them and they love me, but it's become my home away from home. BTW fusion was done to correct 60 degree scoliosis with pronounced curve that forced me to lean to the right, so nothing on that side seems to work correctly anymore, even after the surgery. Is it possible to ever be pain free after your entire alignment is thrown off for several years? BTW, where are you guys located?
Good morning friends. I am 68 years old from India. I have been suffering from Flat-Foot problem developed during last few years. Please let me know if it can be cured at this age ?
Have you seen our videos for flat feet? You can certainly start doing the exercises and see if they can help: www.youtube.com/@BobandBrad/search?query=flat%20feet
I did a MRI and Radiography, everything seemd good. When I bent my knee, when I sit on my feet almost, something happens. When I want to stand up, my left knee pops so loud, that everybody turn around to see what heppend. Three therapist don't know what it is. We did massage to the thigh and needeling. Nothing helped.
I had a knee replacement (problems from day one) but 3 years after the replacement my joint kept locking up weekly for 10 months at the slightest movement. It would take 3-4 days to unlock and was very painful. Drs had no answer and not interested in helping. Would like to know why.
Always great content thanks! I had a walk-in clinic doctor (who must've been at least 6'2" and 180lbs) do that pull test on me once and he was standing and really put his body weight into it, it was way too aggressive. Nice to see your more careful testing approach here, it looked way more reasonable.
I have snapping sound in hips knees shoulders and elbow even neck and vertebrae area ( the back) , no pain but the sound, is that tendons or ligaments snapping on bone,???is it possible for LCL to snapp or slide on a bone I feared about that?
I am a jogger, have had problems with my knee for a month and a half and have already had an MRI done. But the doctor said the meniscus is okay, after a long walk I have pain in my knee and sore muscles the next day, when I climb stairs I notice it immediately, should I go to the orthopedist? I only have pain when I do a lot, such as a long walk. Greetings from Europe
A couple days ago i was using the leg press and after a couple sets i was starting to do my final set. I pit my feet on the pad and when i was starting to put pressure it started hurting. What could that pain be. My left knee did not hurt before the previous sets and only start hurting when in was preparing for the last set.
Man I’m 14 and play baseball. Went to swing with my feet planted in the dirt. The pitch was coming for me so I moved out the way. I twisted my knee weird and I thought it was just a knee cramp. But anytime I move my leg(knee and down) it feels like I have a cramp again and it locks up and pops. I can’t play because it hurts to bad being a pitcher
Hi I already have an mcl tear I know for sure grade 2 I think yesterday I had my knee brace on and I twisted quite quickly I heard a pop in the knee but no pain?
No need to do all those stupid tests. I can barely walk as is. About 2 years ago I was getting in my truck ( my late husbands truck that I promised him I wouldnt get rid of and would take care of no matter what), Well this is a big truck. Way too big for me and not really something a woman would even drive, but again, my promise. Anyway, my husband took the side steps off of it as soon as he got it because he said it hurt the look of it. Well, the floor where I put my feet, when I'm standing on the ground, comes all the way up to my butt. So I have to kinda half jump and pull myself up in it. Yes I get made fun of on the regular. Anyway, it was late one night, raining, cold. I was going to make a store run. Again, its raining and cold and I'm in a hurry. So I go jump up in the truck and my foot slips and I felt something pop in my right knee. I screamed in pain and had to sit there a good 10 to 15 min before I could even move it hurt so bad. Well I was sore for a week or so after. Well about 8 months after that, I was in the hospital due to a blood clot from a bad fall. Plus I had other issues and ended up staying 2 months in 2 different hospitals. but after I had been in the first hospital for about a week, my right knee started really hurting. Bad. Of course I was walking again, which I hadnt been doing for a little over a month (different situation due to the blood clot) Well I kept asking for ice packs for it. It seemed to help. Then I got to the second hospital. It got so bad I couldnt even lift my foot up off the floor to straighten it out. This was a year ago. Today, I can't even stand up without using my hands to push myself up. I have to use upper body strength instead of my legs to get up and down. The Meniscus tear sounds like a real possibility. I definitely need to get to an Orthopedic Surgeon.
I tore my menicus at work and am on Workers Comp. Unfortunately, I've been having to deal with doctors who are only in this for the money and do not care about my health and healing. I've been off work for 1 year and am sick of being at home. I just had menicus surgery just over a month ago. It's better, but I am now feeling pain in other areas of my knee. It's still swollen. I still have trouble standing from the sitting position and going down stairs is painful unless I go down with both feet, one step at a time. Also, the opposite knee is now hurting due to the work injury because I've been using it to bear weight, taking it off the bad knee. I am so aggravating and frustrated because I want to get back to work. The workers comp "physical therapists" give me 5 different ways to do the same exercise, and I feel like they may be trying to actually get me to hurt it again. I hope I'm wrong. I just want to get better. It's horrible. It's just horrible.
I swear your timing is impeccable! I just blew my ACL yesterday. Your examples are so helpful. My doctor did the 1st test and said the same thing you said about being able to live without an ACL. He suggested a good brace and 10 days of rest.
Have had a knee issue for over a year and a half. X-ray a few years ago showed normal no arthritic changes etc. Saw Dr in November 2023 and he examined me and ruled out ACL issue. Said I had a torn meniscus. Have worked on PT exercises and being more careful due to my hyper mobility, seemed to be getting better overtime (Dr said it’s a very slow healing process). He also recommended I do not depend on a knee brace because my body will depend on it and weaken it but lately I’ve been having it flare up again (seems like any exercise causes a problem). I’m surprised he never ordered an MRI when I asked for one last year. He said they are only needed if you’re having surgery. 🙄 Well it’s back to clicking and clacking again and having pain. We are going on vacation in three weeks and will be walking nonstop for three days. I’m just trying to live with this and get stronger. I love working out but seems like every time I exercise an issue arises whether it’s my knee or my back/spine. I eat very healthy and drink water no soda no alcohol. Why does it seem like when healing comes it returns later and feels like a setback? I’m trying to get an MRI but Dr said I have to have another appt with him before he can refer me. I think he plans to refer me to a Specialist and they will do what they always do, recommend starting with a steroid injection. No thank you been there done that and it causes my glute to be weak and then got tendinitis, caused weight gain, hormone problems. Am I stuck with this knee thing?!
I didnt need to do it to know it will be painful! It suddenly pops out of the blue, slight on the inner knee. However if i turn my knees inward or straight instead of slightly outwards, its better
Hi, i had a knee injury for almost two months now 😢 i try to resume training but still. The problem am facing now, fluids in my knee, tick blood in the middle knee close to the Acl if i squat i can feel it with pains, i can kick the ball with my upper foot no pain but inside foot like passing the ball then my knee pops and feel unstable but no pain
So im a runner. I run a lot. I try to stretch but probably dont do it enough. I have no pain in my knees but when i go to sleep at night and wake up sometimes my left knee feels as if its locked, i have to slowly straighten it and its fine for the rest of the day no pain no popping, nothing. Does anyone have a clue or can lead me in the right direction as to how to fix this problem ?
I did and he replied the diagnosis would not change with the locking. I found if I tape my knee and use a brace together, this helps my knee from popping so painfully. The locking still hurts but I now walk very slow and have been resting it. So when it does lock I am not completely caught off guard. I will try the exercises along with the ones my dr gave me. I feel like the knee has gotten worse since my appointment, of course no fault to my doctor. I am guessing this is another stage I have to go through before it can get better.
If a meniscus injury is causing your knee pain, here are a few exercises to you rehab. ruclips.net/video/ucUGxOHdDvQ/видео.html

Hi Patricia - so you will not be doing surgery?
I don't have a good knee to test first. I have the bad one and the worse one 😄😄
We are sorry to hear that!
Me too
So why are ACL tears common in girl's basketball? What are the risks there that we can avoid overall?
Simply a guess but possibly hormone related
Actually, it’s meniscus tears, not ACL. Not hormone-related, but anatomy: females have a wider pelvis than males, so the leg joint is at more of an angle, making it less stable in certain movements.

check out kneesovertoesguy on youtube. I'm having the same issues. I've also figured out that my IT issue is coming from hip flexor and glute weakness
That's good!

There's always hope. I definitely would go for it, as opposed to not. Do whatever you can to stay active.
Yes! Please see your doctor for an appropriate exercise regimen :)

Can an adductor strain cause the knee to click or catch a bit on the medial side?
Knee started locking due to arthritis I was told by X-ray I thought it was a tear

Had a dr’s appt (thorough and good dr) today he said it was a strain. Right after the appt. my knee started to lock. Is a lock ever part of a strain?
It's possible, did you ask your doctor about the locking
I did and he replied the diagnosis would not change with the locking. I found if I tape my knee and use a brace together, this helps my knee from popping so painfully. The locking still hurts but I now walk very slow and have been resting it. So when it does lock I am not completely caught off guard. I will try the exercises along with the ones my dr gave me. I feel like the knee has gotten worse since my appointment, of course no fault to my doctor. I am guessing this is another stage I have to go through before it can get better.

@reylaine8965 I know the truth now about why Bob was talking this way. I'll leave the comment up for my shame.
My knee did that yesterday. I have hypermobile joints so I wonder if it has to do with that.
When I do the bend and back and forth , my knee pops out and drops me to the floor ..

No. Bob is sick.
It would be a good idea to do some research before making rude/ignorant comments.
