Honestly? It's the most likely candidate for the next camera I buy. I already have 8 or 9 m4/3 lenses that I'm very happy with, so for about £400 (UK) I could have something close to my dream set up from 3 or 4 years ago.
@ always having a good collection of lenses is honestly one of the only reasons to justify shooting M4/3rds today imo. However if you ever have any desire to upgrade to a larger sensor or switch brands you'll have to rip off the bandaid at one point.
After much consideration, I bought a used G9 earlier this year as my new "flagship" camera, after owning the GX7, GX85, and Olympus E-M5 Mk III (which I gave to my daughter). It is an awesome, well thought out camera, and it doesn't feel too heavy in hand. I've shot Micro Four Thirds for well over a dozen years. The system is solid, though it does feel a bit stagnant. OM Systems and Panasonic seems to be chasing only the high end market, even though premium compacts (which they defined) are hot now. No new lenses coming out. Even Sigma has bailed on them.
@ it's definitely stagnant and they need to start investing in development of smaller daily carry camera and more entry level models or it will truly die out.
@@selishots It looks like they've given up on the consumer market and are only focused on the prosumer and professional market. They will become (have become) a niche player, perhaps sputtering out for good in a few years. I hope not. I still hold out hope a GX9 Mk II or PEN-F II may come out some day...
Just want to take a second to acknowledge and appreciate the absolutely INCREDIBLE photography in this video. All of the frames you shot were absolutely amazing. It's definitely a solid camera, and should be considered when looking in its price range. I'm just not sure how quick a user would outgrow it and start to want a larger sensor or to invest in a lens mount they can grow into more.
It's the user not the camera. I have the gh7 and it renders beautifully. There's nothing else to innovate maybe inbody E ND filter ? But that will make the body more bigger and less robust
