- LIVE: A Massachusetts woman accused in the death of her police officer boyfriend is back in court Friday for a motion's hearing. Karen Read, 41, is charged in the January 2022 death of Boston Police Officer John O'Keefe. Prosecutors say Read backed her car into O’Keefe and left him to die outside during a snowstorm. Read claims she last saw O'Keefe when she dropped him off outside the Canton home of another Boston police officer, Brian Albert, where he was beaten and left for dead on the lawn.

Right she has no patience when it comes to defense. Clearly this is going to be a battle. This young lady had broken up with deceased from what I understand and rekindled their relationship now all of this. Her attorneys are amazing and very passionate.

Okay if I was this judge after hearing that the lab keeps documentation of all of their contact with Commonwealth and that they have not been contacted by then and he didn't ever respond to their request about if they should test. So I would subpoena the head of that lab and have them come in and explain what's going on with those items because I honestly do believe that the state is withholding evidence. If this occurred nearly two years ago now why is it just now finishing being tested it doesn't take that long and the fact that he keeps saying 30 to 60 days 6 months ago and then before that he also said the same thing clearly he's a lying and I just hate that so much deference is given to the state that they couldn't possibly be lying to the judge when they freaking flat-out do a lot

The autopsy pictures do not match what they are accusing her of. A vehicle backing up in a snowstorm did not cause those injuries.

it turned totally illogical on the basis that his ‘think tank’ as he calls them are all former law enforcement and see it as a we(cops) versus you(anyone not in law enforcement)) and even said said ‘we’ -it was really pathetic and disappointing to see court tv couldn’t get a non biased group of commentators.

One of those accusations that does not add up. This is a very sketchy case. I don't believe she's guilty. There is simply way too much obfuscation going on, and other parties are suspected as well.

This case reeks of corruption.
Just by the injury to officer O'Keefe's arm, what appears to be a scratches from the dog and other injuries he suffered.
I was married to a cop, close to Canton. I've been to plenty of cop house parties, alcohol infused fights that got out of hand happened all the time. Infact, some serious injuries happened alot as well.
O'Keefe suffered those injuries inside the home and everyone is covering it up.
You can't hit someone and have extensive injuries officer O'Keefe had.
Men in blue stick together, a brotherhood they all share, just like the oath they took to serve and protect, there's a mental oath they take as well to take care of their own.
They'll go to great lengths to make sure they all tell the same story.
Everyone involved in this crime should come clean and do the right thing.
This is beyond reckless, it's a tragedy.
Those that are involved that won't step forward should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
How could they live with themselves is beyond me.

Alan Jackson - One of the great lawyers we saw on the earlier version of Court TV. I remember wishing we would see Closing Arguments with Alan Jackson someday before they went off the air. If he is as good on the defense side as he was as a prosecutor, this trial will be a real treat to watch.
I deeply respect and admire Alan Jackson, he's an inspiration.

However, I know from having watched him in trial previously that Mr. Jackson is a very tough and admirable adversary in the courtroom. The prosecution better bring their "A" game for this case. If I had the $$ to afford him, he would definitely be on my list if I needed an attorney.
I spoke to Alan Jackson (8/12/23) and he knows I am seeing thru the BS that Turtle is creating on his behalf. Alan Jackson back-peddled when we spoke, on the hard questions Alan is failing to provide an explanation, he's relying on 'reasonable doubt' and not her actual innocence. Reason is, Karen did it... period.

@@TequilaMockingBird91 Defense proved yesterday he flat out lied to the Judge herself about speaking to the lab regarding testing for trace evidence. He’s also lied about the “human hair” after real DNA evidence proved otherwise.

And another note. The defenses arguments are so smooth because they’re telling the truth. The state on the other hand is so choppy. Their argument is choppy because they know that they’re lying and that they are protecting the police officers, who murdered this officer. It’s crystal clear that the state is lying and that the defense is crystal clear in there argument.
I've said it so many times, you see Lally state his case and he's a bumbling mess. Her lawyers present a good case, they're professional and they have passion. Lally works for the state for a reason, he sucks.

Okeefe left the bar with a drink in a glass. There were pieces of that glass embedded in Reads black SUV. How does that happen if she never hit him with her wheels?
The glass was dragged to his body during the staging when they took the body from the basement to the roadside area. Karen pulled up looking for him and ran over the glass pieces that were carried there earlier for the staging, embedding them in the car.
Yep. All those people, with their pensions and careers in mind, just did all this staging just so. Yeah, right. It's too much conspiracy baloney for me at this point.

@@MrBetc 56 pieces of evidence have not been allowed to be reviewed by the defense. Defense experts haven't been able to examine the glass or the car yet.
They were planted by Proctor when he was alone with the car for more than an hour. Missing more than 45min from the sallyport video, and Proctor wrote that he picked up the vehicle later than he actually did.
There's a reason Proctor, DA Morrisey, the DA's office, and the McAlberts are being investigated by the feds.
If Karen was truly guilty, there would be video evidence from the Albert home and the neighbors home Ring cameras which coincidentally were not working at the time. Or the security cam video from the library, which Karen would have driven by and would have shown her broken taillight - yet in another coincidence, there's a missing 2min portion of that video that's also missing.
Too many coincidences for it all to be coincidence.
Why does the judge allow the audience to shout out and cheer/give applause. Zero control. Innocent or not I have no opinion until after evidence given (if any trial).
She traditionally has had zero control of the court room.
Read the court documents, might give you a better idea of what’s going on. That’s what most of us do.

I can't get over how the Prosecutor just blatantly lies. In the last hearing he claimed that because Nagle was behind the car then left then it was possible that the event happened after he left .....completely omitting the fact that Nagle's statement made it abundantly clear that he had a view of the interior of the car and Karen was alone!!
Then we get to the step counter and he then claims that the phone was moving after John died yet those steps are easily accounted for .....the phone wasn't secured properly so each time it moved in the hands of the police their steps were counted .....not John's!!
The judge appears to just go along with whatever the Prosecution says .....yet its clear from the Autopsy that bruised Knuckles on John's body are defence wounds .....he omitted that information and then tried to say that it was the glass that caused those injuries now that it's abundantly clear that it's not road rash!! The story changes every time from the Prosecution and every time the judge agrees!!

Is it not odd that entire police department isn’t outside to support one of their own?
Judge made a pretrial order that they couldn't be there. Strange, to say the least. Usually when there's a death of a cop, the courtroom is filled with his fellow officers.
As former student for law school I have not been trained nor explored the additional reader that can be extended in a court case but in my common sense as an investigator I would make sure to :
1) Investigate the home since it is involved in the case even if there is no current evidence. Even if has a new owner as it is part of a current crime investigation.
2) Use any forensic blue lights to see If any blood was left behind after evidence was cleared if any from the home that would give a full clear description of he did go into the home his blood would be there from any bite marks. Blue lights will generate stains even from years in walls only unless walls are replaced as well as flooring. Then all evidence is decomposed.
3) Investigate the body and home for any fingerprints relating to the injuries.
4) Get a second opinion on a forensic investigation. There is always something overlooked. Specially if there is a cover up going on.
This is just basic common sense things I would investigate. I have been bitten twice by a dog one of them being a grown k-9 who I adopted but became very territorial. Bite marks no matter how small will make your blood drip and you will leave blood behind. I cannot attest who is guilty or innocent as it is currently an investigation but I can say these are some steps that can be performed.
transparency-if the prosecutor is all about transparency and put out a statement that said stop harassing witnesses, then why isn’t he in the courtroom himself﹖ this is a different prosecutor from his office. second, why is the prosecutor so scared to speak into his microphone﹖ It’s not watchable
that was a Mass DA that put out the statment ...michael moracy.....might of spelt the name wrong , but you could find it...
