"It was not if he was going to kill, it was when." This statement that the prosecutor made, *THIS* is what people who don't really understand relational domestic violence don't realise.
Abusive men, once they get physically abusive, it's just a matter of time until they kill their girlfriend/wife.
The idea that the woman leaving is all she has to do to remove herself from the abuse and the abuser is so, so ignorant.
Most women who leave end up dead even some who plan their exit quietly.
Without a strong and active support network, they don't stand a chance.
If you don't understand domestic violence and the impact it has on the victim, keep your opinions to yourself. Victim blaming shows how ignorant people are and continue to be about DV.

Exactly. This tragic ending is almost inevitable in abusive relationships. Which is why we desperately need to educate girls, maybe in high school health class, about all the warning signs and how critical it is to have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy so you can end the relationship while you still can, before things escalate. I don't care how much you think you love a guy, if he's exhibiting DV warning signs, it's literally a matter of your life or death. And we need to educate boys on domestic violence as well. It's like the topic of sexual consent--both girls and boys need to understand this issue. But girls--please!!!--ZERO TOLERANCE policy!

    • @LanaKay777

That’s because the narcissist loses control prior to the discard phase. They want to maintain control and when the woman leaves, they’ve lost that. So, they control by love bombing…the groceries and flowers and when she rejected that, she was immediately in danger. Do I think she could have handled it differently? Yes. But each of us in this situation, does what they feel they need to do to keep the narcissist happy until they are gone. She only did one thing wrong, misjudged how far he would go to maintain the control.
They also keep finding ways to involve themselves in the woman’s life, ie fixing their car, using the child as bait and being nice and making believe they will change cause they love the child, paying rent, etc. They aren’t doing it to be nice, it’s to retain control.
This is just a story of a narcissist scorned who can’t bear it, can’t allow disrespect or to not look like the good guy. SHE had to look like the bad guy, the cheater, that’s the reason for the constant need to record. He even said it , people needed to see she was the bad guy he’s always said she was.
But in the end, catching her in the act wasn’t enough to assuage the anger. Only death would be enough but then that’s not enough, even after death in the trial she has to be the bad guy.
He’s just a classic narcissist and ladies, this will always be the ending of a relationship with men like this and men, this will always be the ending with women like this!

Man, that Defense Attorney is a piece of work.
I suppose she's just doing her job, of course, but I wonder if she would be so nonchalant regarding this double MURDER were it her daughter, sister, brother, or son that had been so callously and violently disposed of in such a calculated manner.
He parked in a convenient spot, avoided the lobby cameras, brought a deadly weapon to a location where he knew that he was going to have a confrontational meeting, prepped himself for said meeting by snorting a ton of blow and afterwards, rewarded himself by taking with him a trophy of his crime; a photo to remind himself of the comeuppance she "deserved" for all of the "trouble" she put him through.
The attorney can do all of the victim blaming she wants, it still doesn't justify what this drug-addled man-child has done.
At any time, he could have taken some responsibility, gotten himself some help and left that woman alone.
