I bought an 86 15000 miles wing best bike for your money she had been sitting for over for almost 30 years good lord this bike runs like a top theres no wonder there called a gold wing they surpass the rest
Back left of the bike below the speaker there are some wires leading to what looks like a hot plate in the bottom of the bag, do you know what that may be for or how you would activate them?
nice bike i do have a question i noticed when you turn the key on and then started it i was looking at your temp gauge and it was about 3/4 on the gauge, my 86 that i bought the end of last year and i had to put new bearings on the steering head and going through the front of the bike but i havent road the bike no distance yet and when i run the bike the temp gauge sits up there about 3/4 up and thats starting it cold am i missing something with the way they operate being i spotted yours at the same place as mine. i was hoping not to have to replace the temp sensor. can you fill me in on yours not working correctly or does it drop down once you start driving it!! hope you can fill me in on the way they work, thanks and i like the setup you have going on...
any special place to search for them? I've been searching one year now for a 1986 1200 (bought a 1993, way too big for me, I'm only 5'6") but I've found only two locally and one was an ambush I got out of intact thank god and the other was a scam, being sold over and over by a non-owner, just a picture!
ethanol gas burns just as good as pure gasoline. The issue is ethanol corroding and destroying fuel components that arent designed for it. A very slow cancer for the fuel system. Avoid E10 if you can with these older bikes.

Did you ever have any problems using gasoline with ethanol in it? Have ever heard of anyone having problems?
No. I think we have 10% around here.
