Shrinkage means your hair has elasticity. I remember getting heat damage once 4 years ago. My pattern loosened up and I was like "That might be a little more manageable". Girl! My hair went from tight springy coils to frizz in 3 months. I chopped it all off. Gotta have elasticity.
Katrina yes it’s not a bad thing but I was definitely glad when my hair grew so it didn’t bother me as much & heat damage is definitely no joke. How’s your hair now?
@@AmberAlycee my hair is great now. I'm a scissor happy natural and I've never had a long natural hair journey besides the time I had locs. I started a protective style journey in November. I want to see how much I can grow in a year. Great video! Loved the photos and seeing the progress. Lots of inspiration.

Hi, honestly my hair is a lot easier to manage now that it’s longer. My hair has grown since this video and my wash days aren’t as long and I’ve learned a great routine which always helps. Thanks for watching 💞
Thank God I was able to avoid my aunt relaxing my hair 🤦🏾♀️I’m on a journey myself I’m trying to limit products and use what works for me , more protective styles and instead of always leaving my hair looking a mess and just going to sleep I purchased my first bonnet 👏🏾 at age 14 (yes I know big accomplishment😂) so I can keep it protected when I’m sleep but im not worried about length just health 🙏🏾

For some reason, I love shrinkage, and seeing my hair curl to it's shortest state , even though it doesn't help hair retention.
Nancy Jada That’s a really good thing lol! My head shape isn’t made for shorter hair so I was happy when I finally got some hang time 😂

Your hair is so thick and lovely. I love it so much. Our hair looks similar but my hair doesnt do well with weave/wigs/braids so i try to do it with just my hair. Im learning how to flat twist and it has helped so much. Youre that one RUclipsr that I need. Your hair is amazing. I just started really learning how to do my hair. Ive been natural for 5 years with 2 Big Chops (the 2nd was because of color damage). Definitely goals.

I had very pretty curly hair up until I was about 6 an my aunt permed my hair while my mother was gone an I just had to stick with perms after that an I just big chopped June 15TH 🥰

Was there any referred Products ? Your hair is beautiful and I’m have the same problem my hair is healthy and I don’t put much heat but can’t get past collar bone length😩
EP TV I have a video on my channel of all the products I use on my hair. It’s quite long but I wanted to include everything I use from shampoos to everything else inbetween. But keep in mind your hair may like some of the products I use & May reject some of the ones I use so it’s all going to depend on your hair. 😊

You need to keep the ends of the hair trimmed because of splint ends
Shrinkage is a sign of healthy hair. It is something positive

Honestly I just developed a good routine at the time. I think my initial growth came from just getting rid of those permed ends but everything else was just finding the products that really worked well for my hair & having a consistent routine. I’m actually posting my wash day routine this Friday if you’re interested in seeing what that’s like for me 🥰
