  • Hey naturals, transitioners, or relaxed ladies!
    This video is about my natural hair journey. I’ve been natural for four years, since April 2014! My natural hair journey has been full of ups and downs, but I hope this fro-tivation video inspires you on your journey! Although my journey has been rough, I’d never get another relaxer again! I would not trade my thick, kinky, curly, shrunken natural hair for anything! Like & subscribe for more videos. #adorablealliehair
    EDIT!! PLEASE CHECK OUT MY 2 VIDEOS ON GROWTH FOODS IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS!
    Make sure to check out music by my friend Bryson Banks with his information below. In this video I used the song “Again” produced by Bryson !
    Disclaimer!! If you saw an edited meme of me saying you were “bamboozled” I didn’t make the meme so stop trolling lol. RELAXED OR NATURAL DO YOU BOO! I’m not bashing or judging, this is MY story. Also I call it a perm because I want to, I know I got relaxers. ITS SLAG!

    I love watching videos about people transitioning from relaxed to natural hair because I find the process interesting. Also, I have been forced to relax my hair since I was 7/8 years old (and I am now in the 10th grade), and my hair started getting silk pressed when I was 3, and I am tired of it all. Especially since I am now swimming a lot my hair constantly breaks from relaxers and the overuse of heat (I am also forced to straighten my hair).
    I want to say thank you, because videos like these give me the confidence to start embracing who I am once I get to college (since I am probably going to be stuck with relaxers until I’m out the house).
    Also, your hair is beautiful!

    • @adorableallie

      @@anotherpersononplanetearth3936 Such a kind and thoughtful comment thank you so much for watching and sharing your experience! I am so glad to help motivate you on your journey! It can be really hard when you are living at home or still in school! Still learning yourself, what you like, and how to care for your hair! It will be worth the transition even at times when you feel insecure with the change! Best of luck in your journey and just know it’s never too late to start! Take pictures to document your journey as well. ❤️❤️

    Omg great video. What a beautiful hair journey! I’m glad u didn’t give up with all ur hurdles. Thx for sharing.
    I’ve been natural for apx 10 yrs wearing sew ins and leaving them n too long..my hair would grow long but would constantly break off and I didn’t take care of it.
    Well April 2018, I made up my mind to take care of my hair. I had it cut n a bob near my jawline and decided to wear clip ins instead (and will until it’s bra length) and now March 2019 my hair is a lil past my collar bone. It’s so exciting to see progress. I’m thinking summer 2020 I should be at a perfect natural length to wear my hair out.
    I agree the less u play around with ur hair and just pamper it daily with moisture (after discovering ur hair staples) it’ll flourish fast!

      It’s not so bad if you focus on healthy hair rather than length. Healthy hair will grow long. Focusing solely on length makes you think that your routine isn’t working even if it is.

    When I was about 6 or 5 my mom got just for me and it was the first and last time I used it. A couple days later my hair was STRAIGHT then my mom bought another just for me box but I still have it and I never used it again. Btw I have 4c hair and I have never straightened my hair. Since the time I put just for me in my hair I told my mom I wouldn’t do it again, after that what I mainly wore cornrows box braids and only in 1st grade and 2nd sometimes wore my hair out. Now I only have work cornrows and box braids and I started putting rice water in my hair and hopping it will help with growth .
    Btw I’m going to 6th grade and I’m planning on going natural as long as my hair get to a length I like I also am gonna start eating foods that help hair growth

      Yes please keep the faith! My sister was literally the same way, spent about 3 years with a short cut trying to go natural. Eventually I told her just keep wearing protective styles if she wanted to cut/ disliked the short phase! And looking at photos of other naturals will keep you motivated! She’s now one year natural! Very nice video. At the very beginning of my journey and I’m hating my hair. Did a 6” chop but still have about 3-4 inches of heat damage. Don’t have the heart to cut my hair shorter. My texture sucks. I was told natural hair needs a lot of love. I’m trying, but I’m barley two months in and it’s so hard. 😞

    • @tiffy_loves
      @tiffy_loves 5 лет назад

      Lynette Rowtie haaa I feel you!! I feel like it’d be easier to just big chop and not manage two completely different textures but I’d look TERRIBLE nearly bald 😐. I’d suggest box braids in for two months then out for a week or two to give your hair love and then put them back in.

    • @adorableallie
      @adorableallie  5 лет назад

      Lynette Rowtie Thank you! You don’t have to cut the heat all at once! I only cut my heat damage once a month. It does need love so it stays moisturized. Just hang in there, my sister grew her hair from a low shave and hated every minute of it. Now she’s one year natural & loves it. Find inspiration from other naturals, that helped me not give up!

      adorable_allie... thank you for your response. I appreciate the support and advice. As a woman of color, I put so much value in my hair and it’s length and less on my inner self; I’m sure many women of color can relate. so when I did the 6 inch chop, I felt ugly and hated my hair. I still do. I hate seeing the different textures, but I do know it will take time, and I have to be patient and love my hair regardless. It is hard to picture what it can be, when I see what it is now. I watch a lot of natural hair videos to find inspiration as well as courage to continue this natural journey. I never used relaxers, but I always got my hair blown out. So it’s hard. I’m going through withdrawal from the blow dryer. Lol!

    • @adorableallie
      @adorableallie  5 лет назад

      Lynette Rowtie Aww I hope your love for your hair and length grows! Just wear it out more often, and take photos to document how it changes! I wasn’t very confident in my hair when I went natural but by wear my short afro out more, I grew to love it! I’d also recommend putting in protective styles like braids or twists. I do this when I miss a blowout to prevent myself from getting one! lol & it helps you have fun with temporary long hair!

      thank you so much and thanks for watching! I would say be sure to hydrate and keep moisturized. Try to not pull bun too tight so you don’t have breakage from hair ties. Switching up the style may also help! I watched a ton of videos to help with style ideas before chopping.
