Really believe in the last part about loving your hair rather than seeing it as a burden. It’s about vibe, and energy. When you speak life and love to something (even plants), it grows. It’s the same for our hair. Truly.
I can't speak to everyone's hair care needs but it's really easy to care for my hair and I enjoy the time I spend with it. I'm sad to hear women talking negatively about their hair. But I did have to simplify my routine a lot from when I began. I don't need a million styles anymore. I let her do what she wants. I accept that one side is thinner than the other. It all looks the same once the frizz hits anyway. Lol. I don't try to control her anymore. I serve her needs and we work together. That's how this natural girl rolls.
Amen, I prayed steadfastly for nearly 17 years after hair loss from chemotherapy and my hair has seen a revival since January last year. The Lord Jesus answers prayers; I am in awe!
That last tip is so crucial!! I speak positively of my hair while I massage it and Do not see taking care of it as a burden. I even speak positive affirmations to my hair much like you would a plant , and I kid you not my hair has grown sooooo much just of giving it love and moisture I’m almost at tailbone length.
I suffer with Alopecia and as I’m on this journey, I’m noticing it getting thicker and a lil longer and definitely getting unmanageable.. I keep it in 2 French braids under a wig.. I’m growing it from a bald head after 10 years of shaving

I agree completely it's so important to have the right mindset and to accept the hair you were born with. That made me smile when you mentioned having a chair in the bathroom...no one ever mentions this but it really does help 😊
I was thinking about doing this Or just doing some things outside like washing my hair and shaving my legs I live in the islands 🇹🇹 And I want to incorporate Nature more into my routines 💜
This was very informative! I notice thet my scalp gets itchy after one week, but I still push wash day another week. This is my sign to wash my hair weekly, instead.
Love that you mentioned ‘chair in the bathroom’. I always wonder how people stand in the shower for all those hours washing their hair!! 😅. I thought about using a stool but I can’t have the water flowing over my body for all that time - my body starts to itch. I have resorted to over the bath washday. I think it saves so much water as well 😊 Thanks for the tips. Great video 👏🏾👏🏾

"Need" is a strong word. My first few grays came at 19 years of my life. You'll feel much better embracing and loving your hair wholly as it is, I promise.
Did a big chop in feb.2022 after not relaxing for a year. Hair grew fast......colored it😢. It got damaged. Just did another big chop last week. I am done with color. I have learned my lesson. I am back to a twa.
This just popped into my feed and I’m so glad it did. I’m currently working on not coloring or perming my hair and it’s been hard. The GREYS are no joke. It’s a journey but I’m learning to love it. Your hair is BEAUTIFUL and it’s certainly a goal. Thank you for sharing.❤😊
Thank you! I know the greys can be a little more difficult to work with but just keep your hair moisturized and embrace them the greying process looks fire ❤️
Have you ever tried using henna? That's what I've been doing for over 2 years now....less damaging than chemical dyes. I apply the red henna first and then indigo (best to Google it for the full process) and the best thing about it is that you only need to apply it to the roots each time. Once the greys have been dyed they never revert back...l should know I'm 60 now! 😀
I use Madison Reed black rinse, I do it myself , washes completely out of my hair in about 10 washes, it’s very expensive, but oh chile, my hair 4c, high porosity hair is so frogging SOFT and rich in color, gentle and absolutely No chemical smell, I never use permanent color, just sharing, blessings !!!
Love your explanations. Thank you! Tip for wash day (especially for tighter coils)-section your hair in twists. Once you get the hang of it and the order of which twist to lather shampoo etc and rinse first it’ll take less time. Also massage your scalp while saying affirmations and loving on your hair.
Pro tip: These clays are not for all hair. I did a vinegar and clay coating for the hair (though it would remove buildup from the hair). My hair is still hard from it. Never again will I add in clay. And washing a few days is fine. There are myths out there not to wash frequently.

Loved the tips but especially resonated with the last bit. I went natural so so many years ago, and my hair has been through it all. It's now finally reached a point where it's had enough and was getting severely damaged. And I wouldn't care for it in nor out of protective styles, for the reason you mentioned, I viewed it as a burden. My attitude is changing as I've now made that choice to put in all the effort.
