    Hi Zinhle, I know that you are God sent. I've been talking to God about my hair because He knows the numbers of my hair - I am on journey to grow my natural hair and this is to glorify God, and your videos have made my journey so easy, I'm even happy with my growth and so patient (one person even mentioned how patient I am with my hair) - I didnt notice until they said it. I'm on a protective hairstyle right now, and most of the times my hair is covered because of my love for head wraps (I do allow it to breathe) - I just wanted to thank you and may God increase in you.💙

      I hear you, when you’re still starting out of course you’ll have to experiment with quite a few things but my biggest cheat code for you would be:
      1. Once you find something that works, stick to it, don’t be tempted to change things out all the time.
      2. The products that have the most natural ingredients in them have a higher chance of actually working so research is key.
      In no time you’ll be comfortable with your fav products and routine ❤️💃🏽🫶🏽

Lately life has lifed hard, my hair has been thinning and edges are receding. I pretty much keep my hair in a protective style for 4 to 6 months at a time. Recently though even that's not helping the thinning. I'm hoping to get my hair back on track.

I'm struggling to get a hair salon that can trim our split ends as most of the salons we go to dont know how to trim natural hair. I also use a tea spray on our hair which i make with natural herbs ❤ and than i seal it with Auntie Jackie's leave in conditioner and with an oil or hair grease ( hair food ). It's true what you mention about coconut oil , it makes my hair hard but it's very good for dandruff. I used it since my grandma introduce me to it when I was a little girl but with the years it just doesn't work with me anymore.

    I bought organics after using a gentle shampoo for the past year (pick n pay had a special earlier this year and I was still finishing my other product). She's not joking when she says it can be drying. I struggled for about 2/3 weeks with a dry/flaky and itchy scalp and I had to do an apple cider vinegar rinse, conditioner, lots of moisturizer on wet hair and sealing with oil. My hair and scalp is doing a lot better now. I still have the bottle but I think I'll save it for when my hair is really dirty.

    A normal conditioner cannot be like a deep conditioner because the molecules in a deep conditioner are smaller so they can penetrate the hair shaft whereas a regular rinse out conditioner isn’t small enough to penetrate the hair shaft and only coats the hair. So mixing oils into a conditioner doesn’t make a deep conditioner. If the oils you use can’t penetrate the hair shaft it’s just products sitting on your hair and then being washed off.

    • @zinhle.africa
      @zinhle.africa  2 месяца назад +3

      I hear you but I disagree. The base of a deep conditioner is the formulation of a basic conditioner. As far as oils go - natural organic oils are different and offer a variety of properties but there are definitely many oils that penetrate the hair shaft and are able to condition the hair, they don’t just sit on the hair.
      I am not a chemist and I haven’t looked into the molecular biology behind all of this but from a formulation standpoint - we wouldn’t be able to have the deep conditioner if it wasn’t for the basic conditioner.

    • @LeilaVividSounds
      @LeilaVividSounds 2 месяца назад +3

      @@zinhle.africa I replied and then my comment disappeared. How strange.
      In a nutshell I said that ingredients can be very similar in a rinse out conditioner and a deep conditioner but what makes it a deep conditioner is that the molecular structure is smaller in deep conditioners allowing for it to enter the hair shaft. Adding oils cannot carry the regular conditioner into the hair shaft if too big to penetrate. I also did say that the oils need to be able to penetrate the shaft, not all oils do, so adding any oil to a rinse out conditioner doesn’t create a deep conditioner, it creates an oilier conditioner. I have studied advanced chemistry so do have a decent knowledge base, but am not a cosmetic scientist but do have an interest in the field. Thanks for replying to my comment.

    • @zinhle.africa
      @zinhle.africa  2 месяца назад +4

      Hmm…I hear you, adding to a basic conditioner doesn’t make it a deep conditioner.
      I’ve done it many times and it always softens the hair beautifully but with what you’re saying there could be a limitation there because it just isn’t as penetrating as a deep conditioner.
      I’ll keep that in mind in future videos, thank you.

      @@zinhle.africa my comment did not go through, but the second half of what I said is this... (RUclips glitch. I will continue) .... I have used it in this way and it has worked for my hair. Ladies with long healthy hair such as yourself have suggested this to me and i tried it. I just use oils that i know will penetrate my hair shaft, but it is what works for my hair, so I understand that it works even though it may not be systematically correct in terms of chemistry. Thank you!! 🤗

    Hi dear.
    I have a question, is moisturizer the same as a leave in conditioner? Do they function same?

    • @zinhle.africa
      @zinhle.africa  2 месяца назад

      Hey hun, I’m not a chemistry professional but from what I understand, in a nutshell.
      A leave in conditioner contains most of the ingredients of a conditioner but it’s usually more of a runny consistency and it’s intended to not be rinsed out.
      A moisturiser has moisturising and hydrating ingredients, with a runny to creamy consistency, meant to be applied and not rinsed out.
      They are both verrrrrrrrry similar and in my opinion pretty much the same thing, so you can choose which one to use to as your moisturiser. Hope this helps 🫶🏽

    • @zinhle.africa
      @zinhle.africa  2 месяца назад +9

      Don’t relax your hair out of frustration, rather take some time to understand your hair and you will start to see it respond back positively to you ☺️
      Of course I don’t recommend relaxers because of many reasons, it has weakened your hair so much. If your hair was fully natural I would recommend that you prioritise water in your routine and do this to get back to health:
      ruclips.net/video/1a7425AvLu8/видео.html
      Personally I don’t think you need a relaxer, you have beautiful hair that just needs you to put some love on it ❤️ If the relaxers aren’t working maybe give a natural hair journey a try 🥹🤷🏽‍♀️

    • @zinhle.africa
      @zinhle.africa  Месяц назад

      It’s a pleasure hun ❤️ Yes it’s very important to moisturise even when you have a protective hairstyle in. If you think some of your products are too thick you can dilute them a little bit with water and spray them in or just use a braid spray. Either way, as long as you find a way that works for you.
      When you moisturise your protective style, you will experience less breakage and even shedding when you take the style out.

    • @zinhle.africa
      @zinhle.africa  2 месяца назад +2

      The more you get to know your hair the more you’ll know which oils work best for you. This is when you might start getting into making an oil mix, which I would advise you to include castor oil.

    • @naturallybecca4360
      @naturallybecca4360 2 месяца назад +1

      Only use glycerine in warmer months because its a humactant. In dry seasons the air takes the moisture away from the glycerine and keeps your hair dry. If you use it in winter...make sure you seal with a thick cream. Not oil moisturizer

    • @zinhle.africa
      @zinhle.africa  2 месяца назад

      Unless it’s a hair growth oil, natural hair will tell you immediately when it loves or hates a new change you make.
      You can give it a chance the first time, and maybe even the second time but after that, if it’s not working leave it.
      Glycerine is amazing for the hair, but a little goes a long way, adding too much can be harmful sometimes - it’s all about formulation. A better option to try if you’re still a beginner is honey, but not in your spray bottle rather in your moisturiser

    Water is the best moustrizer oil is not a moustrizer oil seal in the moisture in your hair while your is damp place on your middle and ends to stop breakage if your on a budget you could use Vaseline oil do not make your grow oils stop breaking which will make your grow

    • @zinhle.africa
      @zinhle.africa  2 месяца назад +2

      They used to say that but water in it’s basic form is a hydrator. There are some natural hydrators that also moisturise like aloe water, okra water/gel, etc.
      Yes some people like grease or Vaseline, after their moisturiser and water but natural oils are also a good option, my personal preference 🫶🏽

    • @chinelonwadukwe4451
      @chinelonwadukwe4451 2 месяца назад +3

      Water is not a moisturizer, it’s a hydrator. It hydrates the hair allowing products to sink in. If putting just water on your hair, can dry out your hair later. Instead make use of your leave in conditioner to moisturize, then apply oil on your hair strands and on your scalp, before you use your leave in to moisturize.
      Or use aloe water to moisturize but water alone does not moisturize, it only hydrates your hair which is still very good

      Hey hun, when we’re talking about porosity the most important thing is HOW we moisturise more than WHAT we use, so I’m not sure how you prefer to moisturise your high porosity hair.
      However I have noticed that high porosity hair loves light to medium consistency products, so if it has a runny consistency and they have included some natural oils in there - of course give it a try and see ☺️
      Always research and then if you’re still keen - try it out. You hair has the final say 🫶🏽☺️

      Hello my Queen ❤️ I’ll be posting a video specifically on hair shedding (hopefully in less than 2 weeks) where I can give you all the full details on this. Please stay tuned 🙏🏾 Stress, aging and other factors can be the cause but it doesn’t mean that there’s nothing we can do to improve it 🫶🏽
