    Dear Marly, thank you for another wonderful tutorial. Questions: 1) is there an advantage to holding the hook as if a pencil over the "stabbing" technique that I use? And, 2) do you know where I can get an American size H hook that is actually 4.75 mm instead of the usual 5 mm H hook? Thank you in advance for your kind reply.

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  5 лет назад

      Hi there. I don’t think there is an advantage to holding the hook like a pencil instead of a knife. It’s just how I learned.
      Size h hooks are supposed to be 5mm. I don’t know if any 4.75. Sorry.

    • @pokagal7335
      @pokagal7335 5 лет назад

      @@MarlyBird Thanks so much for your reply! Well, about the hook: it is confusing because the Annie's aluminum hook conversion chart shows that an H hook can be either a 5 mm or a 4.75 mm. I also saw that on two other charts that I cannot recall from whence I read that, lol.

    Hi Marly can you please tell me what size the 61 chain wrap will fit, love the pattern and look forward to making it, thank you for your time, patience and instructions on teaching us how to make it, best regards from Scotland, Carol x

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  5 лет назад +1

      I would say if you want to wear it like a wrap as shown on the mannequin it fits about a size s-l...on me it rested more on my shoulders than around them. You can see a picture of me wearing it on my instagram account.

      Great question Carol, being on the larger size, I would think of adding a pattern repeat or 2 to give more ease. Thanks for giving a sizing example Marly.

    I have a question on this pattern. The instructions state to work the pattern until the piece is approximately 58 inches. However, I have already used up two of the three yarn balls and am at 36 inches. If I continue at this rate, I will need the entire third yarn ball just to get to 58 inches and will have nothing left for the borders and joining. I notice on the second page of the pattern the diagram shows only 48 inches total. Is that the correct number for the total width before the border and joining? Thanks!

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  5 лет назад

      Yes, there was a discrepancy early on and people made it to the 58" and didn't run out of yarn (remember to measure it slightly stretched) but you can totally stop at 48" and it will look nice ;-)

    • @beckyrudd4222
      @beckyrudd4222 5 лет назад

      @@MarlyBird Thanks for the reply. I think part of it also is I'm making gauge on my stitches but my rows aren't quite as tall as they should be. I may need some extra length for sizing too--which I should have thought of. I'm going to get another ball and hope the dye lots are close enough to finish it up. Thanks for getting back to me. I really enjoy your projects, videos and all the support and information you provide. Happy New Years!
