  • Beginner Crochet Lace Made Easy: Lafayette Chic Shawl [Right Handed] uses the 100% washable merino wool yarn, Chic Sheep by Marly Bird™. The lace chevron stitch pattern is a 1 row repeat making it easy to remember and fast to work up.
    Get the pattern details over on the blog: marlybird.com/...
    This pattern uses beginner basic skills like the chain stitch, and double crochet, and also more advanced stitches like the dc3tog (double crochet three together), and the 2dc-cl (two double crochet cluster) that are used to make up a unique crochet shell stitch.
    This shawl pattern is rated for intermediate but with this crochet tutorial and Marly's help, you will be able to make this wonderful shawl for the Spring or winter. It is not too lacy but it does use a crochet lace stitch.
    Don't take my word on it, go and watch the video and make your own shawl!

    When I watch your videos, I always feel like I'm learning something very practical (how to make the specific item you are featuring) but I also feel like I am learning concepts and theory and things that make me a better crocheter overall, not just for that one object.

    So would the pattern width become longer or there be a hiccup if I added chains? By this I mean instead of chaining 67 could I chain 77 or 87 to make the shawl a bit thicker in width in that sense?

    @chrislopez5337 5 лет назад +2

    Everyone has pretty much the same idea- love your poncho!! Seriously in love with this shawl though; I tend to prefer this shape over triangle shawls. Every pattern I see is triangle. Refreshing change. Is that hook from Leither Co? I subscribe to their hook box and get completely wood hooks. Haven’t tried the ones available with the metal. How do you like it? You look amazing as always! 😘💕💕💕

  • @KittenBowl1

    I normally found your tutorial easy to follow and see. But this one was extremely hard to see the stitches and what you were doing. The yarn colors you used were too dark and it was very fine yarn to see exactly what you were doing. Next time use bigger yarn, brighter lighting, and light yarn color. I can’t follow this as I couldn’t see much.

    Sorry but I can not follow your video. The camera does show where you insert your hook at all. I have been crocheting for almost two years so consider myself an advanced beginner. The worded instructions are fine, but again I can't see your hook placement to follow as your camera is to far away to really see what is going on...
