Marley, thx so much for your easy to follow video. The shawl is lovely! Can't wait to try to make it.I am 68 yrs old and have recently started to Crochet.I am having a blast making throws, blankets and scarves etc. Keep the videos coming ,love you!
Just found your videos! I'm fairly new at this. I think your videos are easy to follow if you know the basic stitches, as I do. I always have trouble crocheting a double "into the third chain" at the end of the row, but I saw your separate video on that, and the tips and stitch markers for that really helped! I bought a giant ball of yarn and I'm going to keep going to make it a full-sized shawl. Thank you!
Great tutorial! Beautiful shawl! I have some variegated yarn that I didn’t quite know what I would make with it. Now I do! Can’t wait to get started. Thanks for sharing! 😊
I made it!!!!! It really is easy and I finished in one day!!!!! I used Red Heart Stripes Colour Sweet Treats unfortunately no photo. The person who requested it left before I could take one. Sorry 😔 I will be making another one soon with a different yarn and will get a photo and post it on Facebook. Thank you again!!!!! 💙💜💙
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who buys yarn in that way!! I definitely want to have a go at this shawl once I have finished the blanket I am making. Thinking it might be a nice pattern for Christmas presents, although I'd love one for myself too!! Oh dear, so many pretty projects so little time... ;) xx Thank you for this pattern and video, Marly. xx
Another ball jumped into the cart person here. What a fun project and beautiful shawl. Love that picot edging! Thanks Marly. Two days later.....Just finishing up the picot border. Went back for a second ball and two more balls jumped into the cart. Blocking, then this shawl and the next go to one of my Yarn Group member’s church charity.
I did it! Gorgeous. I used the same color you put your purple buttons on. It was supposed to be for me but I needed an emergency gift so it's getting given away but I'll be off to the store to get another ball of yarn for sure . This is too darn fun. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for this pattern! I made a larger version of this recently as a prayer shawl. It was super simple and looks beautiful. I used one cake of Lion Brand Mandala and modified the edging to conserve yarn.
I made my first one yesterday with the color called Seattle. It’s in pink colors very beautiful. Now I’m making one in Tidal in greens and blues. It goes really fast and turns out beautiful.
Thank you! I'm still getting used to crocheting... I've made a couple of stuffies and tons of beanies and I'm fairly good at coming up with my own ideas and patterns once I get going but for some reason I have had the WORST time trying to start a triangle shawl! I've read patterns and watched videos and for some stinkin reason I couldn't catch on! 😂 your video is so extremely easy to follow! Thank you so so much! ❤
Yarn is absolutely lovely....never seen it before in my local area. I also love the idea about the buttons on the back....thank you so much for sharing.
Most times I know what I want to do with the yarn but with making shawls I never know how much I’m going to need because most tutorials only give you the yardages of the skeins and not how much. Thanks so much!
👍🏻👍🏻 Loved this! It turned out great! I will definitely be making more. P.S. I really appreciate your tutorials! Knitting is my first love but sometimes I like to try my hand at crochet for a change and your tutorials make it possible for me to make something lovely every time.
Hello, there! Just started this afternoon and got the hang of it. I'm a novice, so it took several attempts. I can't wait for it to be done - perfect for the weather at the moment. Plenty of time home these days to make more than one. Thanks for the great directions.
Ooooo pretty pretty! I’m glad to know that I’m not alone in doing that. I’m drawn to yarn by color and the feel of it. I do the same thing with fabric (I quilt too). My daughter says I might need a “yarn/fabric intervention “...who knows. 😳😂😂😂 I’m making this one too. Thanks Marly
Thank You!!!!! I needed a new shawl pattern..... And I just got a package of 50 assorted buttons and yarn..... Now I know what to make for my nieces and sis- in- law! Can't wait!!!!! 💜
HELLO MARLY IM GLAD IVE SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR CHANNEL. I'M REALLY LOVING YOUR TUTORIALS. IVE ALREADY STARTED AN EASY TRIANGLE SHAWL, AS WELL AS THE MOSS STICH SHAWL THAT IVE LEARNED FROM YOUR TUTORIALAS.YOU ARE TREALLY A GREAT TUTOR AND I REALLY HOPE TO LEARN MORE FROM YOUR TUTORIALS. THANKS FOR BEING A GREAT TEACHER.
Thanks Marly! You’re right! Super simple and it is lovely! I really like the idea of the buttons. Awesome! Thanks for sharing ad we were all asking! You’re quick! Lol
I totally love this pattern that uses only one ball of yarn. I have so many single balls of yarn that I didn't know what to do with them. Thank you Marly!!
#MarlyBird I know this tutorial is a yr old but it came up and I started crocheting along with you and it's so easy! This is only my 2nd shawl. I saw another one I liked but it was a 7 row repeat!!😮🤦♀️ I'm not ready for that..lol. thank you for doing this tutorial for us💜🧶🧶🧶
Very cute idea especially for the fall when you need a little bit of cover against the chill but not a ton. I’ve got some red heart ombré left over from a project that should be perfect for this. Thank you ☺️
I started to make this yesterday (Friday) and will probably finish it today. It would make great shawl too if made bigger. I love the idea of using buttons to keep it in place, especially a bigger shawl. Very good for those of us with slanted shoulders, seniors and anyone who wants to keep their shawl or a bandana on. I used Mandela yarn in Happy for this and am going to make another one in purple to match my Winter jacket. Thank you for this pattern. God bless you.
Amei seu vídeo, e o xale ficou lindo! Parabéns pelo excelente qualidade. Beijo! 🥰😘👏🏾 I loved your video, and the shawl was beautiful! Congratulations for the excellent quality. Kiss! I’m from Brazil - São Paulo.
i know im randomly asking but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost the account password. I would love any help you can offer me!
@Henry Cannon i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
LOVE this pattern! Made one over the weekend. Will use it for a color pop over my solid-color winter coat. I'll use it for days that a heavy scarf is not needed. As a heavy-busted woman, I like how this drapes. It adds the color I want without adding weight or volume of fabric to the place I need it least! LOL I'm making another one soon!
Thank you Marley nice project, and gift, and thank you so much for showing and video i try so hard but struggle reading patterns . appreciate what you do , your amazing
You are very welcome Tammy. The best way to get better at reading patterns is to read it as you watch the video. I try to always refer back to the pattern so that you can learn how to read patterns better :-)
I liked watching this video.. you looked so happy and seem to be having so much fun doing the shawl.. it's contagious.. looks so easy and simple. I am also buying yarn always ..Now I know what to do with it.. Thank you
Hi Marly, I'm so glad I found your knitting/crochet videos. They are excellent, easy to follow. I've almost finished your big comfy sweater and it looks so good. I just have to seam it up and can't wait to wear it in this Danish spring. I thought of doing this shawl as well. But unfortunately Red Heart yarn is not freely available in Denmark. I love the shaded color yarn you have shown in your video. Can you please let me know which type of a mixture of yarn I should buy to substitute Red Heart yarn you have chosen? There are other kinds of shaded yarn available but I just need to know exactly whether it should be a mixture of wool and acryl or any other? Looking forward to hear from you, so that I can order it online and start on this new project during this lock down period :-) Thanks Marly, keep on posting good videos.

Finally a shawl that’s easy enough to follow and not worry of counted stitches. Thank you so much for your wonderful pattern 😊
You are so welcome!
It's the first time to crochet in English. I really appreciate you 🎉🎉🎉🎉 It is super easy and cool
Haha yes, yarn jumps in my cart all the time!!
I'd seen a similar main pattern, but the simple picot edge is a great addition to what I've learned. Thanks!!
Made shawl, it was so much fun and so easy.
Thanks,
My go to pattern when i have one skein of yarn....Thank you🧶🫶🧶
I keep coming back to this pattern!!! It makes a beautiful shawl using 2 balls !! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
