    Ma'am, I love to crochet but I have been stuck on blankets and scarves for years. I have tried so many tutorials which usually ended with me crying tears of frustration. Today I am happy to say that the tears were of JOY! THANK YOU!!!!!

      I have also been stuck on flatwork and really wanted to try a shawl. I have several cakes of Hobbii yarn (Sultan and Twister) that I couldn’t find a good use for. All previous shawls were too much for me but this is perfect!!! Thank you 😊

    Thank you! You explained this so well! Thank you for telling us it would increase by 6 for each row. For a first time crocheting anything other the amigarumi that I just learned a few months ago. Attempting a shawl from another tutorial, I had it rounding on the straight edge. It was looking like a sting ray! I started over with your tutorial and made my first beautiful triangle shawl! Thank you!

    I have made a waffle pattern shawl but wanted a simple triangle shawl. Your tutorial is amazing. Thank you so very much, my simple triangle shawl turned out beautifully! My 5 year old grandson loves it and said, "Grandma, I want one of my own". He likes the way it drapes over the shoulders and frees up the hands, (you know for playing video games, cars, artwork), allowing him to stay warm all the while. So, I'm starting it now. It's a grandparents right to spoil their grandkids and I'm loving it!

    I absolutely love this pattern because it is so versatile! You can make a really cute shawl with the herringbone stitch (I just chain four instead of three at the end of each row) I've also used this pattern and added spaces and bubble stitches. Once you've got the hang of the pattern you can do quite a bit with it! Thank you so much for this tutorial

    Ty for such an easy simple way to do a triangle shawl-I have watched many other videos where I had to learn a new stitch that was incorporated into the shawl and the shawls were all beautiful but I wanted a “basic” way to do a triangle shawl first and then perhaps incorporate other stitches, knowing the basics of how to make it grow! Ty sooooo very very much!!!! Ingenious!

    This is so awesome! I'm absolutely loving the pattern, and defiantly making a bunch of these for my family for Christmas.
    One question though, how did you double up the small yarn for this? How do you choose which hook to use and how do you not accidentally only pull one of the two?
    Do you have to like roll them together first or something? Any tips would be appreciated, I've never done that before and didn't even know it was an option.

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome  2 года назад +3

      Happy to help! Using two strands of yarn is really easier than you would think! I just hold them together from two different cakes/balls of yarn. No need to roll them together first. The fibers tend to cling to each other a bit which helps keep them together. Sometimes you might catch just one strand but I haven't found it to be a significant issue. As far as choosing a hook I will go off of the recommended hook size for the yarn I am using and make adjustments based on that. So, if like on a light yarn it recommends a G (4.5 mm) hook I will go up a couple of sizes to an I (5.5 mm) and work up a few rows to see how I like the drape. If the fabric is very dense and I want something with drape like this shawl I will go up another size or two until I am happy with the result. I use the technique of two strands frequently in my designs as I love the play in the colorwork and how unique the finished product is. I hope all that helps and I hope you enjoy the pattern! 💕🌸

    Your shawl is beautiful. I've been wanting to make one for the longest time but I feel so intimidated. Your tutorial is very easy to follow. Question, How do you make it longer so it wraps around more? That is what I cant figure out. I want it longer so it wraps around but i dont want the back triangle part too long? Thank you for sharing

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome  Год назад

      Absolutely you could add a border to the outside edge! A simple picot border would be very easy and give it a little boost of fun! You can check out my picot stitch tutorial here: nanascraftyhome.com/how-to-crochet-picot-crochet-stitch-tutorial/

    Hello Tanya bush. I am looking for the pattern it was in the work basket magazine. I was a tan Indiana shawl made with beads and fringe. I think it was done in double crochet. If you could help me with this pattern I would be very grateful. Thank you sue.

    Fantastic and easy pattern! So let me have things clear. Doing this the shawl will grow from the widest part of the triangle and works through the pointy part of the shawl, is this correct?
    What I say is that the first stich (or the magic ring, that you reference on your video) will be on the middle of the widest part of the triangle, and then work like a fan, growing from the centre.
    Sorry if i don't explaing myself well, since english is not my mother language and thank you for the pattern!

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome  Год назад +1

      Yes, the magic circle will be at the center of the shawl under the center point of the triangle. The shawl will grow on each side with a stitch increase of 6 stitches per row. + 1 stitch on each end + 4 in the center of the triangle. You can also see photos of the beginning on my post with the complete written pattern instructions here: nanascraftyhome.com/simple-crochet-shawl-for-beginners-free-crochet-pattern/ I hope that helps! 💕🌸

    Currently making this as my first crochet project ever.....i underestimated how much yarn i would need 🤦‍♀️ 2 red heart super saver jumbos is not enough to make a shawl with this pattern big enough for me. It is turning out gorgeous, but i guess i have to put it on pause until i can get more yarn

    my favorite DC triangle scarf - what size would you suggest this for a toddler and child?

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome  4 месяца назад

      I am so glad you like it! Sizing will definitely depend on age/size of child but the great thing about this scarf is you can simply stop when you have the sizing right if the child is readily available for "trying on" the scarf as you go. You could also measure from the neck down to where you would like the point of the scarf to the mid or upper abdomen would most likely be the best place for the triangle point to hit. Then simply go until you reach that measurement. I hope that helps! 🌸💕

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome  2 года назад +1

      It depends on how fancy or intricate you would like for your border. If you would like a more simple/beginner friendly border in keeping with the design I would recommend working a simple shell stitch border or even a picot edging. I hope that helps! 💕
