Row 3: 6:08 Row 4: 9:30 You can use these timestamps to review these rows, though the one you should be thanking is 'The Craft Nut' Wonderful tutorial that is really easy to follow and can get you satisfying results for beginners. As a beginner myself this video really is a starting point to a wonderful crochet journey.
Putting this here for beginners like me. You can jump back to round three at 6:07. This is a beautiful pattern and I'm really excited I was able to follow it (so far). Thank you for the clear instructions!
I did this shawl a year or so ago & loved it & gave to my mother. I did mine in deep purple. I started another one last night & fumbled it so tonight I’ll start over. One good thing about crochet you can just in do pull yarn & start over. I love this shawl.
I ended up writing a cheat sheet on how to do the turns step by step for row three and four, it helped me alot. Took a long time to watch the video for every single turn, now I just hade my notepad beside me every time I was going to end a row and turn my work.
I've been crocheting for about 47 years, so I'm not a beginner, but I came across your video and really liked the way the shawl looks. I also love ombre yarns, so it's a win-win for me. I subscribed! Thank you for sharing. Blessings all!!!! 💜💜
It would be useful to have total sts per row, as I only need to add/lose 1 and the whole thing goes wonky. I know, I must concentrate! Great pattern, many thanks.
Thank you soo much for this pattern, just finished a shawl that I'm going to give my grandmother as a christmas present. It took some late nights and some frogging since I only started crocheting like two months ago, but I'm so happy with it. Going to make another one right away for my mother.
I have never seen anyone do the treble crochet by spinning the hook, I just yo twice. I might just have to give it a go! Lovely shawl, my next project.
Same here! Talk about mind blown! Lol This is a true win-win...a learning 2 in 1 type of deal. Definitely going to give this a try when I make this lovely shawl! Thanks so much.
Thank you for the tutorial and pattern design. After 30 years, I started to crotchet and this is my 3rd project. I finished it and it doesn't look as perfect as yours but good enough for not continuing to crotchet for so long.
You nearly made my head spin by twisting the hook to tc like that, but once I understood I was immediately like WHY have I never thought of this before!?
Beautiful shawl. I completed in 2 days !! I did a color change every 3 rows with a pattern of maroon and grey. It came out great. Thank you for the tutorial !
Love the pattern. Thx for sharing. Also love the way you start your triples by winding the hook. I’ve never seen that done before and I’ve been crocheting for over 30 years, it’s cool 😎
I’m impressed with the way you showed how to make a slipknot I think it’s the best I’ve ever seen on RUclips. I’m also impressed with the way you pick up your yarn overs for your trip or crochets. I’ve never seen anyone twist the hook to do that I’m going to try it!
Someone from my knitting and crocheting club had recommended a different shawl video for a group project . This shawl looks better than the recommended one and the instructions here are much easier to understand. I might cheat and make this shawl instead of the recommended one. Thank you for posting.
I have been wanting to make a shawl for a long time. I am a very visual learner and this is the first instruction that makes sense to me. Thank you. I want to make it in the same color as blue is my favorite color.
Thank you dear for making this crochet shawl video. I so appreciate it and it is a very nice pattern to work out. I'm adding fringe to e o St to complete it as I like. Cuz I'm a fringe lady.
I watched your video three times before I attempted to make your gorgeous shawl. I did everything exactly as you said . . . except for one thing. I'm using Bernat's velvet which is a little more difficult, used a 6mm hook, then in the second Row 3 ... oh, horrors, I skipped the extra chain between the triples! In the second row 4, I still made the DC between the triples, and voila! It worked out. I'm on the third go-around, and it is still working. Please forgive me, but it is working out beautifully, and I thank you so very much for your kindness in sharing this beautiful pattern with us.
Thank you so much for tutorial & pattern. Your instructions are very easy to follow for a beginner like myself and I do appreciate that! I'm on my third shawl since finding your video and I'm loving how using just this one pattern with different yarn types makes them all seem different. Again, thank you so much for sharing. :)
Thank you for your calm and quick shawl instructions. It is quick and easy. Making it for my sister with white cotton then am planning on fabric painting it. Peace to you and everyone in internet land
I started the Shawl on Saturday September 7th come to find out my sister started the same exact shawl the same day. We are both enjoying this very much
THANK YOU for this very easy to understand/follow video. I've searched for a pattern that's enjoyable and not too complicated! You present the pattern exceptionally well.
I noticed that how you twist your hook while yarning over twice. It's an amazing clever way to do the triple crochet, I will try that thank you @The Caft Nut I'm always looking for amazing clever ways to do my triple crochets.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am a visual learner so printed patterns are useless to me. Your video was very easy to understand and at a pace that I could easily follow.
Beautiful shawl and thank you so much for your clear detailed instructions. It really helped when you stated and showed how many stitches you should have in each row. Thank you again!!
I just did this with a Caron big cake in boysenberry. I made a couple of adjustments. I put a couple of sections of 6rows of double crochet together. Reason for it being my niece is going to use it as a nursing shawl. Thanks for the pattern. !!
I made this one with the violet ( I love Purple). I made it longer and I love it and it was really easy to make which I like. So thanks for this pattern.
BEAUTIFUL!! I love your technique of spinning your hook for yarning over twice on the hook for the triple crochet, I never saw or heard of anyone doing that before! I must say, though, that I almost always feel I should do something a little different to "make it mine" so to speak so I am thinking of, when finishing the row of sc to reverse sc back across the top and then doing a picot edging. Thank you so much for a lovely pattern!
What a joy to find your tutorials. Your voice is calm, your instructions clear and you have lovely hands (no garishly painted fingernails to distract). I am happy to be a new subscriber. Many thanks!
Thanks for the tutorial! Nice, easy and relaxing with stunning results! 😊👍 I like the way you twirl the hook on the triple crochet for the 2nd Y.O., -never seen it done like that 😎
Hi, I am a newbie to crocheting, and your instructions are really clear, however I was wondering if it would be possible to do this shawl for a baby in 3 or 4 ply (UK) with a 3.5 crochet hook? Do you think this could work? Thank you

Thanks for the tutorial! Just finished one in purple and absolutely love it! Wish I could share a photo so you could see how I finished the edge. You suggested we could decide how many finishing rows so I added more to give it a bit more substance across the neckline. Keeping this one for me!
Thank you so much for the video. I ending up making a purple one with ,white, beige and 2 different purples. It’s for my sisters mother in law for Christmas.
Great instructional video and lovely pattern! My only question is if anyone else is having an issue with the top ends curving upward and inward? Is it correct to continue crocheting 3 times into the same stitch at each top corner after the 4th round? I wonder if the top edge would stay straight if only 1 stitch was done at the beginning and end of each round instead of 3 in the same stitch?
The curling is normal ☺️ if you would like to try with only 1 st in the end st on each row than that is always something to try out ☺️ it may not end up being curved or straight enough across the top, but it always good to experiment too ☮️💙🎶
