I'm about halfway through my Lamia shawl and I'm loving it! Thank you so much for this fabulous project Toni, I've tried Tunisian a few times but could never really get into it until now. The satifaction of learning and applying a new stitch (purl) but still having a lot of simple stitch to practice is great, and I love that I can just keep increasing until my wrap is as big and juicy as I want. Tip for fellow beginners, place a stitch marker in the yarn over (increase) when you're doing your return pass, I was having trouble identifying it when working the next row because it tends to sit 'sideways'. Lots of love from Australia x
I started this last night thinking I wouldn’t be able to follow along- 50 rows in and it’s looking SO BEAUTIFUL- you’re right it really is easy! I love it so much
Thank you for explaining so well. I just had brain surgery and I’m starting this right now. My fine motor skills need to be pushed so I don’t lose them. Thank you for explaining so well and being such a pleasant voice to listen to ❤
I absolutely love, love , love this wrap pattern. Since COVID I rediscovered my love of crochet and am amazed of all the new and beautiful stitches. I taught myself to crochet with a book after watching a woman ‘knitting’ when I was about 12yrs old and I went to the library which had instructions for several needleworkS, crocheting being one of them. I have to admit I thought knitting was much prettier but loved the speed of crochet. I’ve been working since I was 16, and after kids , a busy demanding job, I had to lay down my craft. I am over 60 yrs young now but at that time there were only a basic few stitches out there. Then I came across Tunisian crochet and thought it was so pretty! But now the plethora is crochet patterns and stitches is astounding, awesome and wonderful! I just bought your book because I think you are awesome and wanted to support your real self!
I’m new to the Tunisian crochet style and I must say that your tutorial is super helpful and easy to follow. I made a scarf for my son with your instructions. I’m hooked (pun intended).
I just picked up Tunisian crochet about a week ago and I am absolutely in love! I am blowing through this shawl and already have 2 others planned! Such a gorgeous pattern. Thank you Toni!!!
I'm a beginner at Tunisian crochet and your videos are fantastic! I'm so glad that I found you on youtube! Your instructions are clear and easy to follow (even if I have to pause several times, I get it!) Thank you! I'm working on my shawl and hope it turns out well, fingers crossed! Jo
Thank you for this simplified Tunisian stitch shawl. I have been crocheting for years and always have been interested in learning how to do Tunisian crochet. Attempted it several times then gave up. After seeing your video, I know I am more confident and can succeed in doing this project.
Hi! I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. I'm trying to learn make tunisian crochet and I found you to teach me. Thank for transform the tunisian crochet, with your vídeos, in something that encourage me to try in this amazing adventure. ❤
I cannot wait to try this project! I love your tutorials. I learned how to do Tunisian crochet from your expert tutorial after crocheting for 50+ years! I love it! I also just received your personally signed Tunisian Crochet Handbook and absolutely love it! The way that it is assembled with clear direction and colorful photography is just outstanding! It just calms my spirit! I am so grateful that I found you on RUclips. Thank you for serving your crocheting community; beginner, intermediate and advanced. Thank you for being a blessing to so many!♥️
I am using 1 Weight yarn and I am loving it. The drape will be amazing. I stuck to your original pattern so a thicker border does not overwhelm the design. Oh course I will have many more rows. 😂 Got 30 rows done today and will try to at least do 30 per day.
I’m somewhat new to crochet so I haven’t attempted Tunisian stitches yet, but watching your tutorials gives me the confidence to try it. You really are a marvelous teacher. You’re instructions are clearly specified leaving no room for confusion. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate the hard work you put into these tutorials. You truly are a gem ^^
I am new to Tunisian, i believe I started in February and am completely addicted to learning this Beautiful Craft. I still make some mistakes but they are getting fewer. The Lemia is my 2nd actual shawl and love the stitches and the way it feels. I think the hardest part for Me is learning the new language of Tunisian. The good part about that is theres so many great places to find the information right at Your fingertips. Thank You Toni ❤
Hello Toni, thank you for your great crochet site, and I subscribed it too. This wrap "Lamia wrap" reminds of my beloved late mother's name "Lamia!" She used to be an avid knitter during her youth, and she loved my crochet crafts too. I wish you all the best, and I am looking forward for your future crochet projects along with Lamia's Wrap! Lord bless you. Thank you again.
Hey Toni, I am just starting out to learn Tunisian crochet and love the versatility and appreciate the different ways of using spaces around the stitches to create beautiful patterns. Your tutorials are most helpful. Thank you.
I love it. It is so relaxing and fun. It is my first attempt of Tunisian Crochet project. I have never even heard about it before your channel, but now I could not be happier at trying. THANK YOU! Love from Lithuania!
I've recently learned to tunisian crochet from your videos and this is the first big project I'm going for. So far I love in, I'm working with the Lion Brand Mandala Ombre. the colours are a bit busy, and if I'm to be frank would not make this again with that kind of colouring but the yarn itself is a dream to work with in this shawl.
I have to say you are probably the best teacher of all times; your voice is soothing, and you explain extremely well. I can't wait to tackle this project. It's absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much 💓
So glad you popped in to my feed today! I am on, yet again, bedrest for a foot surgery…and your friendly, excellent style about Tunisian crochet has made me want to take the plunge and try it. I am a knitter, regular crochet, embroidery, needle point…you name it. A 67 YO gramma in MN and ready to learn something new from you! You made my day. I will be ordering some yarn (the same color you used) and give it a go!
I have been watching your videos for a few months now because your voice is soothing and this week I finally decided to try to crotchet! You're recommendations have been so helpful in getting me started! Thank you!!!
This is my first exploration into Tunisian crochet and I absolutely LOVE the technique and the fabric it creates. Thank you so much for such a clearly presented tutorial! ❤
I love your videos, you are so easy to follow and inspire new crocheters like me. I am eagerly waiting the delivery of some Tunisian hooks today so I can start. Wish me luck. Thank you. ❤
I am just finishing up crocheting a blanket as a house warming gift for a friend, and after that I was planning a shawl for my grandma as a birthday present I was planning on your Westmont shawl but I might have to make this instead. Thank you for all your amazing crochet videos you taught me everything a know about tunisian crochet and quite a lot about regular crochet too
I've made this once before for my sister-in-law, but I made the honeycomb pattern one color and the simple stitch another (I used her 2 favorite colors) and now I'm using this pattern to do a Temperature Shawl (forward pass one day, return pass the next), and so far it's coming out so cute! Obviously, there's more rows (183 since 2024 is a leap year), but I'm using a smaller yarn and hook size, so it's still gonna measure how I want it to. I can't wait until it's finished!
I love, love, love, love this wrap! My first one I gave to my Sister-in-law and she loved it. My brother commissioned me to make two more for my nieces in the favorite colors because he knew they would ‘’borrow” their mothers and she would never see it again! I will be making more! Did I say I ❤ ❤ ❤ this wrap?!
OMG I just stumbled upon this pattern, your site and this channel - a quick trip to Amazon for supplies and this weekend I am going to make this BEAUTIFUL shawl and I am SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!!!
Dear Toni,I live in Germany and you are one of the best instructors I have found on RUclips. Thank you for your effort and flawless instructions. I will start my Lamia Wrap as an absolute beginner today and I will let you know how it works our😅. ❤
I am so in love with this pattern. Worked up my sample. Made some mistakes, but I see where they are. So today I am going to start the real thing. Thanks Toni💜
I finally bit the bullet and bought myself the Clover Tunisian crochet hook set!!!! I'm working on the Pilson blanket for practice, and it's so soothing and such a joy. So excited to make this shawl for my mom for Mother's Day !!! You're a phenomenal teacher
Thank you for being so through and pointing out the particular stitch to work with. I admire your pattern and will give it a try. To be honest I couldn’t get into the Tunisian stitch, however, I’m very excited about this new project!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
So glad I found your channel! I’m an avid crocheter and am just dipping my toe into Tunisian crochet. You make it look simple and I’m going out to get my Tunisian hook and some yarn today! Your pattern is stunning, great job. Thanks for the inspiration 😊
I’m making this pattern with the Caron big donut o’go yarn in the color way mint julep. It’s looking so pretty already! I’m loving this pattern. Thank u Toni for explaining it in a way that is easy to understand and follow. I’m so happy with Tunisian crochet.
This would be an amazing baby blanket with the honeycomb around all four edges! I'm expecting my first grandbaby and would absolutely LOVE to to a blanket like that!❤
Just finished my Lamia Wrap. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm a beginner at Tunisian Crochet and this made me love it. I'll definitely be doing more of it in the future.
I finished my Lamia Wrap, made with Malabrigo sock yarn. I didn't see this video first, just followed the pattern, which was very clear - it took longer than it should have because, well, sock yarn. It is so luscious and drapy! I'm going to block it this weekend, then take some pictures. And next time Louisiana has cool weather, I have a gorgeous new scarf to wear, yay!
Toni, i just love you so much and thank you for all the great lessons. Also, I am a tour guide on the road all the time, used to get sick a lot with colds and respiratory, but now never! My wonder combo is apple cider vinegar capsules + turmeric capsules, I take 3 of each when traveling or first sign of feeling off, repeat every 4 hours til back to normal. Colds never develop. Get supplements at any pharmacy. Hope you feel better fast! Wishing you the best! Looking forward to more videos.
Just found your channel 👍😍 thank you so much for all your help. What a fantastic teacher,I am 65 and learning thank you again for your patience. Love you ❤️
I love and will do it once more. That time by having the a frame of honeycomb stiches and having simple stiches just in the center - "growing" every row for one stich as the frame moves to the left. Love your tutorials, thanks a lot.
Hello, I have just discovered your site and I find that it is easy to follow your instructions, believe me, you have just found a new follower, I love the way you explain and you are very friendly to me. Can't wait to see more see you soon from Quebec thank you
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm making this wrap and it's coming out very nice. It's my first tunisian project. Could you do the border in a solid color and the simple stitches in a variegated? Since I'm new to this, not sure how to accomplish that or if it's even doable. I have some gorgeous variegated yarn and this would be perfect. Thanks for the great videos on Tunisian!
This hit just in time! I've been looking for a couple wraps to make for a trip I have coming up later this year. It's gonna be this one and Ada! Thanks so much Toni. Now I get to go yarn shopping! Yay!
Bonjour 👋🏻 je viens juste de faire connaissance. Je ne parle pas anglais. Mais je comprends très bien ce qu’il faut faire car vous montrer très bien à la caméra. Je suis débutante en crochet tunisien J’adore. 🥰Merci beaucoup
ok, I'm gonna try it. I have done a hat, a scarf (mesa style) and a baby blanket. It is time to try this!! I have also done the kima cardi, but not tunisian. Loving your stuff!! We shall see how it goes!
I saw this wrap and knew that I needed to learn how to do Tunisian crochet. I’m practicing with cotton mill ends so my practice can become washcloths. One day I intend to have a Lamia Shawl
Just finished my first one, it turned out beautiful! Before finishing I already ordered new wool so hopefully start the next one tomorrow. It makes such a great gift 🙂. Thank you!
Love It!! I’m almost ready to try my 1st Tunisian project and I do believe this is it!! Just need to get better Tunisian hooks, with the cords before I try this one out. A keeper for sure. Thanks Toni.
I just finished my first Lamia Wrap! it also was my first big Tunisian crochet project and I loved everything about it: the stitching, the drape, the easy, super detailed instructions 😍 Toni, I agree 100% with the warning on your website: this pattern is absolutely addictive ❤ I've made it as a stashbuster, using 3 skeins of the same yarn weight I had around, so that I could also practice the two alternate striping techniques of your other video, and I'm already starting another one 😆 Thank you for this wonderful pattern and the great tips ❤❤❤
Inspired by your channel. Purchased yarn and waiting on my Tunisian crochet hook to be delivered. Thank you for the video because reading the pattern to a newbie is daunting. Wish me luck.
I've been wanting to give Tunisian a try and this shawl seems like the perfect beginner 1st project ! It's beautiful and can't wait to start it ! Thank you for all your hard work, it is truly appreciated !
Hey Toni, I don't comment often, but I feel like I had to here. I just LOVE this tunisian crochet pattern, and it's what made me pick my crochet hooks back up (after several failed attemps at starting tunisian crochet). I'm currently a bit past row 13, though I made a little modification and am continuing the honecomb pattern past 13 stitches, since I'm using a thinner yarn and crochet hook. I hope to see many more vids in the future. Thank you for all the effort you put in to your patterns and videos. Sincerely, a yarn crafts enthusiast 😄
Dear Toni, I just found your Chanel and this Project on RUclips. I really love the way you explain every single step! But because English isn’t my mature language, I didn’t understand how much of the yarn I will need to crochet this shawl. Lots of greetings from Germany, Tanja
Hi Toni. I have been so neglectful of Tunisian crochet. I am starting my fiber arts business this year, a photo shoot the end of April to finish creating designs for, and have four sponsored shows to create inventory for this fall. To say my days are crazy busy is an under statement. Regardless of what I have on my plate I always choose a area of fiber arts on which to focus for myself for the year. This is the relaxing crochet time for me in the evenings when my day of work had ended. This year is Tunisian crochet because I seriously need to refresh my skills. Having some beautiful items to wear or curl up with gives me something to look forward to as well. I am in love with your wrap!😍 It has to be fate it popped up in my feed. Lol ( and that I'm subscribed to your channel). I also signed up for Skillshare. I look forward to the many classes offered that I know will benefit me and the growth of my business. Thanks so much for all you do and offer all of us. Feel better soon and have a great day beautiful.
Thank you for explaining the yarn weight. I've been crocheting for years, but never really understood how yarns of the same category can differ. I love how much info you give. You make me a better stitcher, and thanks for introducing me to Tunisian crochet. Keep up the awesome!
Hi Toni was about to start this and then remembered I had some Baby Snuggle from the only supplier I will use HOBBII. I think it’s Super Bulky I was going to use Malaga but fancied it a bit more of a cozy snuggle shawl. Thank you for all you do. If it wasn’t for you I would never have known Tunisian crochet xxxx
Never made a Shawl as I’m usually a blanket crocheter but I’ve always loved Tunisian crochet and love this pattern. I have started making it now and it is coming along lovely. Your channel has inspired me so much and thankyou for such beautiful patterns.
I love watching your tutorials! I learned how to crochet using RUclips tutorials last year but haven't been brave enough to try Tunisian crochet yet. Maybe this will be the project that gets me brave enough!
I'm about halfway through my Lamia shawl and I'm loving it! Thank you so much for this fabulous project Toni, I've tried Tunisian a few times but could never really get into it until now. Great tip! And I'm so glad you're enjoying the project. Love the use of "juicy" to describe a shawl. The cozy factor is off the charts!
Yes that increase stitch do tend to hide.

What kind of yarn did you use. I can't find the one toni uses
Love It!! I’m almost ready to try my 1st Tunisian project and I do believe this is it!! Just need to get better Tunisian hooks, with the cords before I try this one out. A keeper for sure. Thanks Toni.
Same!!!
Your shawl looks stunning. Lovely colour and pattern. You are very good teacher. You make it very easy to follow.
I just finished my first Lamia Wrap!
it also was my first big Tunisian crochet project and I loved everything about it: the stitching, the drape, the easy, super detailed instructions 😍
Toni, I agree 100% with the warning on your website: this pattern is absolutely addictive ❤
I've made it as a stashbuster, using 3 skeins of the same yarn weight I had around, so that I could also practice the two alternate striping techniques of your other video, and I'm already starting another one 😆
Thank you for this wonderful pattern and the great tips ❤❤❤
Inspired by your channel. Purchased yarn and waiting on my Tunisian crochet hook to be delivered. Thank you for the video because reading the pattern to a newbie is daunting. Wish me luck.
Your instructions are so clear - I’m Goins to pull out those Tunisian hooks and try again.
You are so uplifting to watch.
Thank you and much blessingsto you.
One of these days I’m gonna give Tunisian a try. It’s so beautiful!
Great tutorial. Looking forward to seeing you at Have You Any Wool.
This is the first shawl I've ever attempted, let alone increasing... thank you Toni for a gorgeous shawl that is attainable for us newbies.
Beautiful, Toni! You are my go-to Tunisian Queen! Thx! 😊👍🏻🧶
Thank you! You are the best instructor! You have made this sooo clear to follow ;) !!!
Thank you for explaining Tunisian crochet in an easy to follow video! This is the first video I've found that's clear and easy to understand. ❤
I am in love with your wrap!😍
It has to be fate it popped up in my feed.
So beautiful I went to do this. Thank you. Love your voice so soothing. And you are gorgeous.
Love this shawl. Thanks for sharing. Going to make this as a secret Santa present and also as a challenge for KraftingKitty
