I did mine in Number 10 crochet cotton and instead of double crochet, I did triple crochet instead for a summer shawl. This pattern is the same as the Secret Yarnary's Cakes and Candles pattern. I get so many compliments with the double crochet version and my triple crochet version. It's my go-to pattern for all my shawls. Thank you for your so wonderful instruction video.
Oh that's such a fantastic alternative and it would definitely be more flowy and airy! I wish youtube allowed people to show off pics of their projects, but I imagine your shawls look gorgeous. Cheers!
Absolutely love your tutorial, thank you kindly for such clear instructions in your video! I didn't have yarn weight you recommended in a multiple color handy but I had a worsted weight gorgeous one skein in blue, purple, black from rocker girl I fell in love with, but could only get one hank of it. It's 220 yards, but I think being a thicker wool I'm using 6 mm hook and it's coming out lovely so far. Not sure how big it will turn out, but the colors are gorgeous! I have some beautiful fingerings weight merino and some alpaca yarns too, but many are solid colors few are blends that I already have patterns picked out for, I'm determined to make a light weight shall with this pattern too it's so lovely! Hopefully I will remember it, or it will still be available. I'm a cancer patient so memory isn't so good anymore 😢 but chrochet for charity gives me strength..
Oh that sounds lovely!! It might be a shawlette size but I think you're right to use a 6mm hook. I hope it wraps you in love! I love the idea of you doing this for charity. You are a crochet warrior! Don't worry, the tutorial isn't going anywhere so it will be here if you need a refresher. Wishing you all the best in your recovery and sending lots of strength, healing, and good vibes.
This is such a Beautiful shawl! I can’t wait to start making one for myself to wear in the upcoming cold NY days. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️
I Made one shawl with a thin yarn one with a multi colored yarn and just started a third with a thicker yarn using a larger needle. I had to increase the chains by one to accommodate the seven double crochet stitches. I am using the Caron Colorana Hala yarn in Bluestone Frost. This yarn is so soft and easy to work with. I will be buying a few of the different colors.
I used "Blue Theban" from my shop "Republic Of Yarnia". This was in DK but you can use other bases too. I linked to the shop in the "info" section but you can find the yarn here: www.republicofyarnia.com/product-page/blue-theban
@@RepublicOfYarnia I’m going to try again when we go camping - I’m still fairly new to crocheting and this is a really pretty shawl! I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks again
When I first do a pattern and that happens I do this…take the work apart, put you tube video on a slow speed.. sit and do the piece with the slow video. It’s probably just a matter of skipping a stitch . You can do this, really.
Beautiful pattern easy to follow thank for sharing!😊

Oh wonderful! Yes, that's a smart tip to increase the chains with thinner yarn. I'm so glad you're just plowing through with shawls. Go you!!!
Delightful. Very clear instruction. Thank you

How many yards of yarn are you using in this shawl?
It's 1000m, so about 1093 yards.
What is the yarn name please

@@srimadassanayake9660 The yarn in that picture is not sold in any stores. I dyed it as a gradient on request from a customer.
I just tried getting your website up and it says it’s not available😢
Oh that's so strange! How about trying it this way: www.RepublicOfYarnia.com
It’s beautiful but I couldn’t get my stitches to line up with yours to save my life…. I tried all day. I’ll stick to an easier one I guess.
Oh darn it! I'm so sorry it's not working out. Let me know if I can help.
