Finally an easy shawl that doesn’t have so many holes or spaces. I’ve looked for a few “easy” ones and they weren’t. You’re directions are clear and such a great teacher.
If any one is having trouble finding the true last stitch in each row, just put a stitch marker in the first stitch in each row you start, and in the very last stitch in the row. Move the markers up into the new first and last stitches as you go. Now you will know exactly where your last stitches are in each row. Less stress and easier counting.
I'm about to give up on crochet because nothing ever turns out no matter how hard I try but after watching this video you give me confidence to try again.... Thanks for this! Cross your fingers for me! I need all the good vibes I can get on this one lol
This is hands down one of the most straightforward and easy to follow tutorials I've ever seen. I'm so glad I found you and thank you for making crochet accessible to us n00bs!
I made this shawl and love it, and am making my second one now, but I have modified it slightly to make it fit and wear a little better. For the first 10 rows, at the start and end of each row, instead of doing an increase of only one stitch in the first and last stitch of each row, do an increase in the first AND SECOND stitches and the last AND NEXT TO THE LAST of each row for the first 10 rows. This makes the center of the shawl very gently curve, when wearing the shawl, this is the part that goes around the neck. By doing this slight curving around the neck, it forms the shawl so that it lays nicer around the neck and the shawl will wrap beautifully over the shoulders and stay in place better and more naturally. It’s a simple modification, but works beautifully. I am making several shawls for Christmas gifts out of Red Heart Heat Saver yarn, which I think is going to make some warm shawls, but this yarn has a lot of body, so I think forming the neckline is going to be even more important with this yarn so the wearer is not constantly having to fight the shawl to keep it in place.
Hi Vickie: I just finished my 12th row & I can see that I have a slight upper curve, behind the neck, which looks odd. If I tear it out & try your method, I’m wonder if it would work on a lighter yarn. I’m using a Mandala #3. J.
Tried your method & it made such a difference behind the neck. I also decided to change the centre, from 1dc, 1tr, 2sc, 1tr, 1dc; To: 2dc, 3sc, 2dc. It just made a slightly larger eyelet. But I do love the pattern! J. W.
Trying to do the shawl and really want to try Vickie modified so it lays easier but I'm not really understanding...im still a beginner to crochet and having a hard time following....if anyone can explain, I would really appreciate it...thank u
@@bethhigdon8304 let me try to help. You know how Tiffany puts 2 double crochets in the very last stitch? Instead, put 2 double crochets in the last 2 stitches, chain 2, turn, put 2 double crochets in the first 2 stitches (back loop only) then proceed with one double crochet in each stitch. Basically to “increase” you put 2 stitches instead of 1 in a space. This should curve the neck upward. I just wanted mine straight across and in order for this to happen, I had to modify by putting 2 double crochets in the last 2 stitches (end of each row) chained 2, turned work, and then proceeded with just 1 double crochet in back loop of each stitch. For some reason, when I followed Tiffany’s pattern, my shawl curved down. There are tutorials out there on how to increase, if you’d like to actually see it. Hopefully this made sense and wasn’t too confusing. Good luck!!
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm currently crocheting this shawl pattern for my daughter using Red Heart in Zebra color, she only likes Black, but I talked her into the Zebra color!! This is now the way I will be crocheting many more shawls that I need to make for my family and friends. Again, Thank you so much. God Bless you and your family, always!!
I love this! ❤ I’ve recently gotten two of my girls wanting to crochet. My youngest has shown interest a few years ago. Now my oldest is trying her hand at it since finishing college. I’ve directed her to your page to follow. I feel like you’re very thorough in your descriptions and easy to follow. Thank you so much.
Best and easiest shawl pattern I have found. I have searched and searched. Thank you for actually having a beginner friendly tutorial. First one done and more to go.
BIG TIP: After you ch 2 and turn, right after you take your first dc, put a stich marker in the chain you just made (the "V" preceding the loop on your hook). You will never again worry about which is the last chain in a row. I cannot emphasize enough how big of a difference stitch markers have made in my projects. I never crochet without using stitch markers. I use the locking, flexible markers that don't snap and break.
I saw this the other day and fell in love with the finished product. Picked up a couple of Jumbo Super Saver skeins in a variegated purple and white so I can make one for myself. It’s been a really chilly winter, here, and having one of these to wear? How cozy! Thanks for this!
Thank you so much for this tutorial Tiffany, i really appreciate how easy you have made it for a beginner! I didnt even reach the end of the video yet and im already about a third of the way through. I cheated and used a bigger hook and chunky wool...
I just happen to have 3 skeins of showtime on the way with no idea what I was going to do with them, I just loved the color. I’m new to crochet and I’m absolutely making this! Thank you!
This is gorgeous ! I want to make it. The yarn is out of this world. Red Heart is getting gorgeous yeparns look at the Bitty Stripes to. Drop dead gorgeous yarn. ❤❤😊😊 Thanks for this great tutorial gotta get this yarn. ❤❤😊😊😊😊
I finished my shawl in 7 days and absolutely love it!! I am starting a throw with one of your patterns using blanket yarn. It's going to take awhile and had I known I would have used the 2 strands shown in your tutorial. It with still be gorgeous though. Thank you again for all your help!!
Thank you!!!! I have seen other people try to teach this shawl and for some reason it just didn’t click. Then you come along and it fit like the perfect glove. I have hope Yay!!!! So great full.
Thank you sooooo much, i have watched endless videos looking for a tutorial that is easy and straightforward, omg, this was so pleasurable and enjoyable!! ❤
Hi, I am living in London and during lockdown needed something creative to get me through these difficult times. I have not really crocheted before but have made two beautiful shawls and am now on my third; which is very autumnal. Thank you so much for your fantastic video, it was so easy to follow and having a creative project has been a lovely thing to focus on whilst we all cope with Coronavirus. Sending you a big thank you from the UK😍
Hi Karen! So happy you are keeping busy with some crochet projects while in this time of staying home. I'm so excited you have made this shawl! I'm glad this video could be helpful for you and thank you so much for watching! 😊🧶🧡
This is simple and very pretty. Throwing a simple pattern into WIP can be a respite for the brain. Thanks for your presentation. You are easy to follow.
Just finish this project. My first shaw and largest project yet. The pattern is simple and easy to do. I did find it difficult to find the showtime yarn. I ordered online and waited 2 months for the yarn to arrive. The colors were worth the wait.
I just finished this project with Lion Brand Wool Ease thick and quick yarn and I now have a nice heavy, warm, easy shawl!!! I loved making this and it went so quickly!!
Super simple and easy! I love how you explain each step and not just throw the terms there like everyone knows what they are!! I'm gonna make this shawl for my grandma, but I'm using different yarn and hook size yet it looks pretty so far! thank you for this pattern!
You are incredible for having kids full time & working/filming such high quality video! Gorgeous shawl, I’ve got a caron cake that I needed a pattern for and this looks perfect.
I have made 4 of these now, and here are things that helped me: use stitch markers in the first stitch of every row. This means 2 stitch markers in at all times. Chain 2 at the beginning but ignore the chains and 2dc into the beginning stitch. Mark the first DC and crochet into that, not the chain (this is infinitely easier). DC under both loops on the first and last stitch of every row for a nicer top of the piece. Great, easy pattern!
I keep coming back to your videos, i wish i could have this video on super save, i have looked at other videos and cannot get started but your tutorial i flow, honest to god, i cannot thank you enough!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Please, I must tell you, you should never glue knots or any part of a knit or crocheted project. Always weave in ends so they don't come out with wear or washing. You don't want to go through making a beautiful garment and have it come apart. 😊
I have afghans I made in the 1970's that are knotted. They have been washed many times and used by children, dogs and cats. None of them have ever come apart.
I’m only on my third row and I just love that you crochet with me and it is the easiest pattern I’ve ever followed, my mums college recommended this to me and I’m in love with the shawl and the tutorial (bit repetitive) is soooo easy! Let you know how it turns out ❤
Hi yes - I used this yarn same color for another item. It’s a show stopper! No matter what you make. It never fails -2023 to stop people in their tracks. Something about the “ Show time”. It’s not user friendly in other words no mistakes please lol! And get it right the first time because it is not easily frogable. I’m looking for more now. I have a request for a shawl. I just may do this one. Thanks Lover love your tutorials. Thank you for all you do !
That's Awesome @gobabe2396 !! I love that you had such a great experience making this shawl and that you even received an order to make one for someone else!! How Special! Thank you so much for sharing. 🤗❤️🧶
I have a friends little girl ( 7 years old ) who was given a full set of crochet hooks for Christmas from me ~ but she doesn’t know how to crochet yet ( her Mom doesn’t know how too either ) and this would be the perfect project for me to teach her ~ so Thank You very much ~ AND YES IT IS VERY VERY BEAUTIFUL!!
Hi Lisa! How cool! I love that you are trying to teach this little girl how to crochet. And that you are choosing one of my projects to work with. I try to be very beginner friendly in my tutorials. I have Beginner Basic Videos that might be fun for you to look into also just in case. 🧡🧶
I am going to be honest with you,I learned how to yarn(crochet) and didn't even look at videos till felt like I was actually learning. I'd like you to know you are an amazing teacher. Yes it is beautiful. Thank you
I absolutely love this!! I have tweeked it ever so slightly though. Instead of doing 2dc ch2 2dc in the center space, I like to do only 1dc ch2 1dc. I have figured out that doing my new trick, it makes the center a little bit less pointy! Thank you for the tutorial! I am going to use this video for my friend who just learned how to crochet. She just needs to learn how to tension her yarn first haha! 😁😁😁
Ashely I love how you tweaked this pattern and made it your own! That is so cool! The benefit of making something yourself. I'm excited that you are having your friend watch the video too. I hope you are both having fun! 😊🧡🧶
One of my granddaughters knits left handed.I am going to show her how to crochet this shawl left handed.thanks so much.I may try increasing in the last two stitches see what happens.
Thank you for sharing this. I'm now making two in different colors for my sister's birthday. I love that your instructions are so easy to follow, and the finished shawl looks so elegant. :-) Thank you! Keep up the good work!
Hi Alma! I am so excited for you to make this shawl! It is so much fun. If you can please send me a picture of your shawl as you are working on it. 😊🧡🧶
@@CrochetWithTiffany Thank you, Tiffany. I will send you pictures. I have 3 balls each of the Paparazzi (I'm so in love with that color in the shawl you made), and the color Green room. :-)
You, my girl, are awe-inspiring! I always have planned to do a shawl and never do them. I do sweaters or something else. Watching this tutorial, I realize that I had been intimidated by them. You made it simple. Plus, you hold your hook pencil style, like I hold mine. Bonus! You get 10 out of 10 for this beautiful shawl. 👌🏾😘
...making this right now! this is JUST the lazy-brain project I needed, and with such a lovely result...thank you for the super clear instructions and re-creation...cant wait to show it off. Best wishes and Happy New Year!
I just finished making this shawl. I love it! Wonderful for snuggling on the couch or in bed. I can see taking it to the beach for when the sun starts to set or using on a plane as a blanket. Useful as well as stunningly beautiful. Love the yarn. I used the exact same yarn in showtime with the harvest maize tassels as you did. Didn't want to be a copycat but I loved the look you created. I might make a few more in other colors of this yarn for Christmas gifts. Very happy. Thank you.
Hi Victoria! I am so excited you made this shawl and are loving it! You can copy me all you want. I take it as a compliment. 😄 If you do make this shawl in other colors I would love to see them. I have a private Facebook group called "I'm Hooked For Hope" where people share pictures of things they have crocheted. You could share your pictures there or email me at HookedForHope@gmail.com. 😊🧶🧡
Finally! A simple shawl ! I'm a beginner and I am perusing for a simple shawl pattern. A lot of them say they are simple, but I get lost quickly. This is perfect. About to start on one now! Thank you. Subscribed. ❤️
This is so stunning. I love it. I just made a shawl that is really long... and I love it. Love your enthusiasm... and it's great when kiddies are asleep, mommy can focus! Xoxo
Hi OMGrannySquare! Haha yes! So nice when I can focus. I am so happy you loved my tutorial and that you made a really long shawl! Thank you so much for watching. 😊🧡🧶
I love this !! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing tutorial and for making the pattern free !! It’s incredibly generous and kind of you … now to go find me some melange yarn ☺️
Currently making this and im in love. Will be changing it up in the end but its looking beautiful so far. I end up using mandala ombre mantra. Beautiful blues, teal, with some white. I'm going to use a white and white with glitter look in the fringe. I'm excited!!!
Hi Hope! That sounds gorgeous! Love the idea of the white and white with glitter look in the fringe. I'm excited you're having fun and loving how your shawl is turning out. 😊🧶🧡
I love your video. You are a great teacher! You explain and demonstrate everything so clearly and I love that the written pattern is so easy to understand. Count me in as a new subscriber!
Hello Tiffany...Thank you so much for this shawl tutorial....I've been crocheting FOREVER...😊 & Love, Love finding new crochet projects.. Ur a very good instructor...so charming & informative....Thank you for sharing your talent...!!🌻🌻 Peace & Love from South Carolina, USA
Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate you so much. I have so much fun making videos, connecting with people, helping, and teaching. It’s the best! 😊❤️🧶
I love it! You are such a great teacher! I choose roll with it for my yarn, color is Hollywood! It is gorgeous also! I am amzed at how fast this goes! I'm excited to wear it!
I’ve wanted to make something like a shawl or an afghan for a long time, and I decided to take a crack at one as part of my Halloween costume. After a few false starts-I was having trouble finding the last stitch and my two practice starts kept curbing downward-I’m now 26 hours in and so proud! Thank you for this lovely pattern that is so easy but looks so very nice.
I don't know if you ever read comments from your older videos but I made this for my Mom for Christmas and wanted to let you know she loved it. I used a different yarn, something thicker.
I just found your channel and love how you teach and the way you edit your videos. You are a great teacher. Congrats, you already have a huge audience.
Hi I liked your video it was the only easiest one I could find for a simi beginner like me. I was wondering if you can share how many skeins of yarn I need for this wrap thanks
Just found this pattern! (Still fairly new to your channel) Now I'm sitting here trying to decide on colors, lol! I can hardly wait to make one for me and one for my daughter. I have a suspension that my granddaughter is going to want a small one for her too! Thank you sooo much for all your hard work!!!!! ❤
Hi Tiffany Thanks for that. So simple. I just learned how to crochet just before christmas last. I've been enjoying myself as i love many crafts which i managed to teach myself. I love your channel. You're so encouraging and I happened to have some aran weight yarn which is made up of shades of sage green and mint. Very pretty. I was wondering what I'd make with them. So now I know. I started to crochet along with you and I can see this will be something to nice to wear going for a walk in the park nearby. I'll be camoflagued.... HaHa. Thanks so much.
Haha I love that you plan on blending with your surroundings during your walks. The colors your are using for your shawl sound so pretty! Would you send me a picture of your shawl when you finish so I can see it? I am so happy you like my tutorial and it helped you 😊👍🏻🧶❤️
Thanks so much for the instructions I thought I would never be able to do a triangle shawl until now. Thanks a million. For my tassels I just use a book

I stay out of the center hole, I use the chain stitch for a smaller hole.

Since the chain 2 is a stitch then that is my last stitch to put 2 doubles in??

Oh I am so excited! So happy your daughter loves the shawl. You are most welcome and Thank You for watching. 😊🧡🧶
Thank you again for sharing your work and 'how to'. I have now made two of these for gifts, so easy and I love this!!
You have a gift for teaching crochet, I love your videos x
Thank you so much! 😊🧶❤️
I'm in the middle of making a shawl right now, I LOVE yours, I'm going to frog it & make your shawl❣️ So Happy I ran across your channel!!!
Hi Peggy! Welcome to my channel. So glad you found me! Wow, I am so excited to have you make this shawl. I hope you have fun. 😊🧡🧶
Beginner crocheter and you make it so easy. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank YOU for watching! 😊🧶🧡
👌🏾😘
Your shawl is absolutely beautiful!💕
...making this right now! this is JUST the lazy-brain project I needed, and with such a lovely result...thank you for the super clear instructions and re-creation...cant wait to show it off. Best wishes and Happy New Year!
So excited for you to make this shawl Renée! Have Fun! 😊❤️🧶
@@CrochetWithTiffany ❤

Finally! A simple shawl !
I'm a beginner and I am perusing for a simple shawl pattern. A lot of them say they are simple, but I get lost quickly. This is perfect. About to start on one now! Thank you. Subscribed. ❤️
Hi S Blaikie! I am so happy you are giving this shawl a go! 😊🧶❤️

You have the gift to teach so well. Thank you for your time and effort. I will definitely try making this some time.
Love the fact that the color of the yarn changes so often - very beautiful❤️❤️❤️

Hi Pat! Oh gosh, I love all of the Red Heart Roll With It yarns. They are all so stunning. Excited you tried a different yarn. 😊🧡🧶
@@CrochetWithTiffany , I know! I just got the yarn you made your shawl out of. My current one is really looking good! I just ordered Theatre!
Oh my gosh what a beautiful shawl. Love it.
Great Job! I'm so proud of you for not giving up. 🤗💖🧶
hello, I just wanted to say this will be one of my favorite patterns. Its truly a simple and beautiful pattern. thank you.
I don't know if you ever read comments from your older videos but I made this for my Mom for Christmas and wanted to let you know she loved it. I used a different yarn, something thicker.
It is gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you so much! ❤️
I just found your channel and love how you teach and the way you edit your videos. You are a great teacher. Congrats, you already have a huge audience.
Hi Denisse! Thank you so much! I'm so glad you found me. 😊🧡🧶
Thanks, just found your channel looking for a new (and easy) shawl pattern. Thank you, very nice video instruction.
That yarn is absolutely gorgeous! Super easy tutorial, love this for a great and simple shawl\ scarf, because most of my shawls are also scarves
Hi I liked your video it was the only easiest one I could find for a simi beginner like me. I was wondering if you can share how many skeins of yarn I need for this wrap thanks
Wow this is such a great pattern ❤! I’m really enjoying this make . It’s fun ! Thank you .
Love this shawl! I’ve been looking for one that will be easily done and quick as well. Thank you so much for sharing! ♥️
Hi Tiffany
Thanks for that.
I am so happy you like my tutorial and it helped you 😊👍🏻🧶❤️
P.s thank you for such a great tutorial. Your teaching is superb.
Thank you for sharing this with us I love love love the new yarns hope the work is going well for you happy new year to you and the family xxxx
Thanks so much for the instructions I thought I would never be able to do a triangle shawl until now. Thanks a million. For my tassels I just use a book
Hi Joyce! I am so excited I could make the shawl look easy enough for you to give it a try. Love your book idea! Thanks! 😊🧶❤️
It’s divine 🥰 thanks for sharing your fabulous design
