This was a really awesome video for a beginner. I really like how you took things step by step and weren’t shy or impatient about repeating steps. I learn by watching better than anything. My first attempt was pretty decent since I followed your steps. Thanks!

Awesome video! Can't wait to get started on this. Shared!
Donna Bolton, thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate you being here and sharing! 🌸💐💕🙂
Using bernat blanket extra, the knit stitch was too tight and I had to frog it after the first row. I switched to a 36 peg loom and purled the whole thing and it came out great, if a little too big so I'll gift it to someone with a larger head :)
Could this be adapted for a fine weight yarn?
I'm doing one with a #4 light yarn, but I doubled the thread. So I'm working with 2 threads of yarn rather than one.
I’m beginning knitter thank you for sharing this slower each step I can’t follow when the person shows it to fast! I’m going to make one for myself! Just Subscribed! I don’t have a knit loom like that one just the around one will that work for making one?
Hello! I know this comment was many years ago, but unfortunately some notifications do not get sent to me and I didn’t get this. 😔I received a different notification and that’s when I saw this. I wanted to come back and say thank you! 💕I appreciate you being here and watching. You don’t have to have this exact loom to make this project. I placed a link in the description box for other looms that would work. 🤩Thank you again.🙏
@@GinaLay you’re welcome
Thanks for the video! Awesome vid for beginners.
Richard Velez Thank you! 🙂
Can you make a neck warmer on the round loom the same way? I was wondering what size round loom would you use for adult?
Hello! Yes you sure can make one on a round loom. I use the 41 peg loom. Here is a link of an example of one of my videos. ruclips.net/video/-DdL6l85qU0/видео.html
Thank you! Do you also use the 41 peg hoop for adult hat? It seems so big! What about for age 6 to 8 for a hat and neck warmer? All my kids are in Vermont! I have to get busy!
Wonderfull work
Can i just use this method without removing the pegs in between? The last time i removed pegs on one of my looms for a project I was working on i placed the pegs back but they wouldn't stay in the loom,
They kept coming out.
Ohhh no!! That’s so sad! Are you using this loom or a different loom?
Hi
Have just finished beginners loom ear warmer.
It hasnt much stretch. Think perhaps i used 8ply wool double. Will try single strand next time. Would be a good idea if the ply wool used could be clearer. e.g. what size it would be if lived in Australia America or England.
Video was very good so back to experiencing dufferent wool.
Thank you for your feedback! ♥️
it does not look stretchy. when you pull it, it just sits there. will it conform to your head?
What size loom are you using. How many pegs. I would love to make this
Hi! This is the KB adjustable loom. I am not sure if they still make it. But you can use the Knifty Knitter type of looms like this…. www.amazon.com/dp/B07NT4PMSH/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_8GPR486YDS2C1AV9XPQE?linkCode=ml2&tag=motherswellne-20
Then you would just follow the same amount of pegs in the video if that makes sense. 💕🩵Thanks so much for being here!!!
Is this possible to do with a super bulky yarn? I'm almost done with it (complete beginner here) and now I'm nervous finishing it will be too complicated 😒
Hello A Syzdek ! It certainly is possible! I am so glad you are here and I can’t wait to see your ear warmer!! ❄️☃️❤️
Gina Lay I came across your channel while browsing and love it! Very easy to follow for someone like me. Thank you for doing these videos! ❤
A Syzdek My pleasure! I love being able to help! 💕 I am so glad you found me! If you would like to send me a picture of your work you can find me on Facebook - The Mom Writer or email me through my website. 💐
thank you that you do video for beginers/////////
ELLI SEMITEKOY You are very welcome! Thank YOU for watching and being a part of my channel! 🌸💐
thank you
when you cut the yarn to cast off do you cut it from the work or do you cut from your yarn ball? I know I might not making sense, I do not know if you cut the yarn from the work to do the cast off. sorry if that does not make sense. thank you for this video understand it all but the last part.
Hello Nancy Jensen! You will cut your working yarn after you wrap it around the loom. At this point in time the yarn is still attached to the ball. :-) I hope this makes sense. 💐🌸🌷
do you cut the yarn from what you are working on and the ball and have a piece of yarn to cast off? not sure if I am asking correctly. I can't see from the video if the yarn is cut from what we are working on. wrap it around the loom and then cut it also at the ball. does that make sense
Thank you for making this easy for beginners. What type of loom is this ? Mine is more rounded. Can any type yarn be used?
Jeannie Eaton I am so glad you like this video! This loom is a KB Adjustable Hat Loom. You can also do this on a round loom with absolutely no problem. I would recommend doubling the strands of a #4 or using a bulky yarn. 🙂 I hope that helps and I thank you for being part of my channel.🌷
What yarn is best to make this
You can make this with worsted weight yarn or chunky. A #4 or #5
Could you please tell me which loom you used. You either did not say, or i missed it. Thank you :)
kath0257 I used the 36 peg loom for this project. Thank you for being here! 🙂
Thank you, I am going to make one now. These are very popular where i live
I made this a few days ago. I used a 31 peg round loom. It came out to a child size, which is ok since I have grandchildren. However, it's pretty tight, and yours looks nice and stretchy. Also, it was SUPER tight when I doubled it and did the bind off. Like bending my tool and having to pull with all my might tight. The yarn I used was a #5 bulky. So, a couple of questions - should I used a 36 peg or a 41 peg round loom? Do you know what would make it so tight? Any advice you can give me would be great. Thanks!!!
I use a 36 peg one
Only an idea, but whenever I have extra tension I make sure to have the "e" wrap going the right way so that the round part is in front of the peg rather than the intersection of the "e" stitch. Thanks Gina, you are so patient with us.

I don't have an oval shape loom , what other loom can I use to make this?
Hello Genevieve Torres ! A round loom will work too. 🙂
Gina Lay what size as in how many pegs in the loom would work?
Genevieve Torres You could use a 31 or 40 peg round loom. 🙂
I've not got that loom knitting what can I use instead xxx
You can use almost any loom. Except I have never done it with the small peg loom.
Where did you get that loom thinking about getting xx
Can you make this on a round loom
Ricki Lieberman Absolutely! 🙂💓
That’s what I wanted to ask as well!!!!!
What kind of loom are you using because I have one that looks like a square is not all around like yours thank you
Can I use round loom?
You sure can! :)

Always!🤗♥️ Thank you!! 🤗
Would a rectangle shaped loom work as well?
I have a 27 peg loom would that work?
Ashley Elsner I have never used a 27 peg loom for this project. :-) Is it a large or small gauge loom?
Have a question for you....first, I made the headband and it turned out perfectly, but now I am doing it again and after I got it the width I want and folded it over and fed it onto the loom, it is so tight that I can't get the lower yarn up and over the peg. I took it completely apart and start it over. So now on the second attempt the very same thing has happened. What on Earth am I doing wrong that it works the first time and now it won't?
Chattanooga Baby I think it depends on the tension of the yarn your pulling up. I sometimes put my stitches to half of the peg that I’m knitting over. That usually helps the problem. :-) It still may be tight but that should help the problem some. ❤️🙂 Thank you for being here!
Gina Lay, I'll let you know. I took it apart AGAIN....3rd time. Ugh! I made a hat a few weeks ago with a brim and it wasn't hard at all, then made this headband and it wasn't hard, now this time, I just keep failing.
Chattanooga Baby i
I've not got that one x
I believe in you! ❤️
What sort loom are using
What sort of wrap
What size loom?
Avon Lady This is the KB Adjustable Loom. You can find the link here. It doesn’t look available through this link anymore but you could probably check the KB loom site. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLQO6U0/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=motherswellne-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B00NLQO6U0&linkId=d9e9adf19236163a305a5c8248e38a43

So sorry for the delay Nancy Jensen! ❤️ The yarn is cut from what you are working on. 🙂🌷💕💐
where did you get the loom
Jennifer Ricci Hello! I got this link off Amazon. Here is the link: www.amazon.com/Authentic-Knitting-Board-Hat-Loom/dp/B00NLQO6U0 🙂❤️
Do you need this loom needle to make this hand band?
No you can make it with other looms too. Which looms do you have?
Round Loom
Lflower1 Stars A round loom will work perfect! 🙂
I have a round loom, can i use that, and if so how many pegs?
Hello Kristin Singleton! Yes, you sure can use a round loom. Are you making it for an adult or child?
Adult
Do you use a 36 peg loom
I would say a 36 peg round loom should be fine, unless you have a lot of hair, in which case maybe don't go all the way around (go back and forth) and add a button closure with a hair tie for extra space. I thought a 41 peg would fit me better, but it's too loose, so I doubt it would be better for a headband.
Thanks gonna make this long and try to make a dog sweater😂
You can do it! ❤️🤗
How big to do this for a small child? (she is 4) It looks ideal to keep her hair out of her face...
KM E Hello! What size of loom/ loom do you have? 🙂
How many pugs are you working on?
how many rounds did you do on the ear warmers.
Hi Lydia Nannen! I did around 6 1/2- 7 inches. You can do more or less depending on how big you want it. As you are making the loom fold what you are doing in half to see how big/wide your headband will be. 🙂
How many pegs did you use
Jackie Robinson I used a 42 peg loom. 🙂
