Thank you for this video! Im making these for my husband for a 7th year anniversary gift, traditionally a gift of something wool. I will say, I wish that you went over sewing the toe and closing up all loose ends more in detail. I am not a sewer or knitter so it may be obvious to others, but I was left questioning how I finished things off. Overall this video was easy to follow, and I did watch your heel video too :)
Love this!!! I’ve had a loom set for years and it has been such a confusing thing for me that I put it up, well thanks to your video, I’m taking it out of storage! Thank you!!!!!
Same here! Although I've already had to restart three times...pulled out the old one to start fresh...first row was so tight I couldn't put it over the second...then the second time it seemed too loose! :/ Frustrating but super glad this video is here. I can pause, rewind and slow it down how ever much I need to. 🥰
I started these with Seasons bulky yarn but mine stitches looked much looser than video. So I switched to Wool-Ease Thick and Quick (super bulky) and liked the results much better and looked a lot more like the video and the written pattern, which I did buy. I love them. I have 3 skeins and think I will get 2 pairs from that and plan to make the leg part a little longer - maybe 10 rows instead of five. Thank you so much for the video and the heel video was super helpful as well! I did not do it right on my first try and "got it" after watching the heel video.
I bought one of these looms at a craft show many years ago and got frustrated when I tried to make a hat, put it back into the package and stuck it in a drawer. You made it look like even a non knitter could make slippers. I’ll pull it back out and give it another go...Thanks!
Bailey Clark Thank you for such a sweet message! I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to leave me a comment. You can do this! Believe or not, I did the same thing when I got my first loom. 🙂
Honestly I would have done the same. So I'm trying to find something I can do to make my grandson a beautiful blanket. Where do I start. I think I know but I really am stuck. Ugggg.

Gina Lay I only started October the 12th 2017 and this was my first project that I have finished. But before this I have started making a hat but I haven't finished it yet.
I agree please Don delete this video! I've made probably 100 pairs , yes 100 pairs! Sold them at vendor markets and friends and family. They make fabulous Christmas gifts.
Thank you so, sooo much for this video. Making the heel in this pattern is so much easier than making it on a regular sock loom. Thank You for sharing this video with us. I do really appreciate it.
I come from a large family and don't have a lot of money for all the upcoming birthdays and eventually Christmas so I can get yarn cheap and make everyone some socks and hats. your videos are going to help me so much thank you

@@GinaLay I wanted to reply sooner, but it’s been busy. I ended up making four pair. A pair for my parents and my sister in law’s parents. They loved them and were super excited to receive them. Thank you again for this video. 🤩
I followed exactly how you did it, however, I had to use my hat loom. Let's just say my sock turned into a beanie..... :/ I so need to get a round loom as well. I LOVE looming, and you are the one who taught me how to do this. :) Thank you.
Thanks for a great video. Made 3 pair. Wasn't til the last one I discovered that instead of struggling trying to lift 2 loops of the yarn over one. Just do one of the loops at a time.
This is awesome! For years I've been using these looms to make caps for our mitten tree at church every year! I'm going to make slippers now too! Thank you! I subbed-I want to see more! 😉
You are so sweet! ♥️Thank you! I no longer make loom knitting videos but I plan to start making easy meal videos soon! 😁 If that interests you I would love for you to join. 🙏🙂
I modified this a bit to make the cuff thicker and the ankle bit longer. Rather than 10 rows for the cuff, I did 16, and rather than 5 for the top of the ankle (from the cuff to the heel), I did 10 rows rather than 5. That seemed to fit my grandad a bit better than the shorter ankle. This was so easy, though, thanks so much for sharing!
Yay! This message makes me so happy! I am so glad you love them! I really thank you for taking the time to be here and leave a comment! 🙏♥️🌞 Great job! 🧶

this was my first attempt to make anything on my loom ever and i realized after making the cuff that my loom was the next size up so i ended up just figuring out how to make a hat lmao! it was like, my first successful hat though so thanks for the instruction haha

Hello Gina: I love your video you can clearly understand every step you take. Very good for someone just starting to learn how to loom knit. Thank you and keep making great video's.
Yay!! Do you mean the heel is too big?? If it is you can make less than 10 rows up and then make the other one with the same. I hope that makes sense. Please let me know if you have any other questions and how it works out. 😊 🧦 I am excited for you! It’s an amazing feeling when you see it all work out. 🙌Good Job!! 👏
Thank you. Question: could this be done so it would be with a long neck and be more like a "crew sock"? Something like this would make great winter socks for those of us who work outside in the snowy winter months and are tired of spending the extra dollars for so-called "thermal" socks that are nothing more than different colored regular socks and do not help keep your feet that much warmer than the regular crew socks. So, one would add more rows before making the heel?
I made these for hubs doubled the length on the second pair and he asked me to double that lol. He loves this pattern and I've done so many that I can do it by memory now.
Thank you for this video! I had wanted to make socks and finally did it. You are a good teacher. Trying your other slipper socks now too. Keep on making videos for us! Thanks again!
Gina thank you so much. This is a clear, concise tutorial expertly done! EZY to understand & EZY to follow along. Is there a printed version of instructions that I could copy & print? Again, thank you 💝

Trying this. I have loom knitted before. Nothing fancy. Scarves. So this is my first attempt at something more complicated. So far so good. Just past the heal section and from what I can tell it looks okay. If this works out I may be knitting slippers for everyone for Christmas...lol!
I’m making these for my grandma for Christmas! I did the heel wrong the first time then I competed another one but was way too big for her but I’m almost finished sock #2 and then will ship it off to her! Hopefully they fit!

This is the best tutorial I have seen in a while. However Gina, Is there a pattern for making smaller, child sized loom knit slipper socks? I would love to make them for My Grandsons. If there is a smaller round loom, let Me know. You walked us through "turning the heel" so well. I have subscribed to all Your tutorials
Awhhhh thank you! You are so sweet!💙🤍 The only smaller loom I know of had 12 pegs which make baby booties. I do have another video that might work but it’s not for slipper socks. I will link it here below. 💜😊Thanks for watching. Thank you for being here and sharing your kindness. 🙏⭐️
Can’t wait to use this tutorial! I have knitted socks with sock yarn before on double ended needles, but I assume that will be too thin for a loom. What type of yarn should I use? Is acrylic itchy for socks? Thank you ☺️
With this loom, I use a #5 🧶 yarn. I link an example in the description box so you can take a look at the exact yarn and #. With this look a thin yarn won’t work well. I am so excited for you. Keep in mind this is very different than needle knitting. Some people find this easier because they can’t manage two needles. I know you will make an awesome pair of slipper socks and I am excited to see how you like it. Thanks for being part of my little community! 😊🙏💕
Your videos are fantastic and so easy to follow i love them! Ive loom knitted a long time but i love your videos! Do you ever loom in other gauges? Id love to see your work on smaller gauges ❤
Awhhh, thank you! 🙏 That’s so very sweet of you to say. I have never used a smaller gauge loom before. One day I might try. Do you have any suggestions on the type of looms or what to make? ❤️❤️❤️Thanks for being part of my channel! 🙏
@GinaLay 3/8 gauge is the most common used small gauge, honestly you can make next to anything haha! Hats, scarves, blankets and even socks are fantastic in small gauge. I personally love KB small gauge looms, but the flexee looms are great too. That being said, they all do the same thing really so any 3/8 gauge loom so long as you have the right amount of pegs will work just as good as the branded versions. I am a blanket maker myself, I also use e-wrap over other knit stitches due to damaged nerves in my hands and it can be quite painful to do tight stitches so for blankets I use the KB Afghan loom and the multi knit adjustable purple loom. For hats I use flexee skinny and a neat cheap set of small gauge looms I found on Amazon. It's quite interesting to see stitch definitions change from chunky gauge like your video here to smaller gauge too but project wise you can do anything from large gauge patterns as well. Being in the UK it's easier for me to get #4 weight yarn than it is the chunky yarn used for larger loom gauges haha 😆
Oh wow! This is great information!! Thank you! 🙏 I will take a screenshot and look into these.♥️ I appreciate the suggestions so much. I will keep you informed for sure if I decide to try. 💕Thank you again for being here!
Amanda Hoeschele I love that! Keep that up (your craft addiction) It’s so good for your mind. ❤️ I’m so glad you are here and look forward to see what you make. 🙂🌞
@@GinaLay UPDATE I bought a set of looms three weeks ago. So far I have made 3 pairs of fingerless gloves and 2 neck warmers. It's very rewarding making things while watching TV...

Thank you so much for your kind words! I suggest knitting in whichever way is comfortable to you. I was told I knit like a left hander and I am right handed.🤷♀️♥️ Maybe try how I am holding it and see how it feel. 😊 Thank you for being here.
If you put your yarn through a short drinking straw (about 4 inches long, use a crochet hook) before you start, it will greatly increase you wrapping speed.
Do you know why final product may be a bit loose? I used a 24 peg loom like you did. The only thing that was different is I used a bit thicker of a yarn? Do I need to be wrapping each peg tighter then? This was my first ever knitting project and your video was SUPER helpful so thank you!!
Awh thank you! When you wrap the pegs try to remember somewhere in between.. not too tight but not too loose. . I hope that makes sense. Also make sure you are knitting and ending your slipper where you can just see the tip of your big toe. 🤗
@@GinaLay ohhh thank you for the response. I think I mean to clarify what I meant though: I meant loose as in the knits all around are kinda loose. I am not entirely sure how best to explain it but overall sock is kinda loose not necessarily "fit" per se. Thank you again for taking the time to respond to questions!!
Thank you for the tutorial! You are an excellent teacher ❤️ I wish you could have showed how to stitch up the open toe, not sure how to do that part, but a lovely video otherwise.
Thank you so very much for watching and being here! 🙏♥️ I appreciate your support. Have you made a hat yet? The toe is almost identical to closing and sewing up the top of a hat. Does that make sense?

No problem. Thanks so much for your videos. They are beyond helpful. I Am sure that you have inspired many people other than me when they are going through a creativity block.
any recommendations on where to buy a loom or even make my own? ive tried to crochet socks and knit socks but this seems so much more comfortable for my brain, the way you showed it and explained helps so much😭❤️
Do you have a Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, Joanne Fabrics or any local craft store should have looms. 🙂 You definitely can do this. Also use a yarn with the #5 on the label. Keep me posted! 🤗
Walmart does have looms but be careful of some. I have heard a lot of reviews that don’t like the looms with the hooks on the end of the pegs. They look like crochet hooks on the end.
How long does it take you to finish one sock? I have a few challenges 4 kiddos 6 years old 4 years old twins and a 2 1/2 years. I have to have all 4 pairs done before I even tell them I am thinking about making them socks ... They don't want to be the last one getting socks blablabla. Trying to get myself mentally prepared for this great project. Thanks
Same ages of my grands at that age except the twins were the youngest with the 4 yr old in the middle. Lol. Man it was work but i had so much fun helpin raise them then. Now they are 17, 15 and 13, 13. I would knit them toys. Omg before i had the first row done they asked of it was done yet. So i know what you mean. Have fun and if you have time let us see the socks

I did not do it right on my first try and "got it" after watching the heel video.
weezieweeks Thank you so much for your feedback! I am glad the video was helpful. ❤️
Ugggg.
Thanks for the tutorial!! I'm around 10 years old and made my first pair of slipper socks and they turned out great!! :)

Gina Lay I only started October the 12th 2017 and this was my first project that I have finished. But before this I have started making a hat but I haven't finished it yet.
SlimeQueen 3008 That is so great! :) Thank you for taking the time to comment and great job on the knitting! 😁👍✨

Thanks for a great video. Made 3 pair. Wasn't til the last one I discovered that instead of struggling trying to lift 2 loops of the yarn over one. Just do one of the loops at a time.

Thank you so much for letting me know! ♥️👍🌞🦋
I can't believe that you could even get to do this its so good how to make them so wonderful job you doing .Thankyou.

Thanks for the tip!
Yes! 👏
Never thought I could do it I love it! If we want longer socks we can continue 12 ropes instead of 10 and then make the heel??❤
Yay!! Do you mean the heel is too big?? If it is you can make less than 10 rows up and then make the other one with the same. I hope that makes sense. Please let me know if you have any other questions and how it works out. 😊 🧦 I am excited for you! It’s an amazing feeling when you see it all work out. 🙌Good Job!! 👏

Awhh i am so very glad!! Thank you for letting me know. 🙏Thank you for watching!Socks for everyone! 👏
Yes, you could definitely make a longer neck. 🙂 Exactly... add more rows. You got it! 👍
They have a thermal yarn from red heart
I made these for hubs doubled the length on the second pair and he asked me to double that lol. He loves this pattern and I've done so many that I can do it by memory now.

Making these for my mom for mother's day!
How did she like them? ♥️💕😁
@@GinaLay she really likes them, I messed up a little, but she really appreciates them :-)
Can’t wait to use this tutorial!
I am in shock! The slipper at the end looks so good and it only took about 30 minutes!!!🤯
Joann Dyson Thank you for watching! The slipper does indeed work up quick. 💗
I am too!

Thank you for this great video! I only have a question, how do I work if I am left handed?
Thank you so much for your kind words! I suggest knitting in whichever way is comfortable to you. I was told I knit like a left hander and I am right handed.🤷♀️♥️ Maybe try how I am holding it and see how it feel. 😊 Thank you for being here.
If you put your yarn through a short drinking straw (about 4 inches long, use a crochet hook) before you start, it will greatly increase you wrapping speed.
L T Thank you for sharing your tips! :)
The straw really works a treat, much speedier!
Thank you for your help. My second try came out perfect. What type of yarn is the best to use?
Using the barrel of an empty pen or old mechanical pencil works as well

Jodie Magill Thank you for watching and being here! 💕It really is a nice project. Take your time with it and enjoy your slipper socks. 🙂
Thank you again for taking the time to respond to questions!!

any recommendations on where to buy a loom or even make my own? ive tried to crochet socks and knit socks but this seems so much more comfortable for my brain, the way you showed it and explained helps so much😭❤️
Do you have a Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, Joanne Fabrics or any local craft store should have looms. 🙂 You definitely can do this. Also use a yarn with the #5 on the label. Keep me posted! 🤗
Walmart
Walmart does have looms but be careful of some. I have heard a lot of reviews that don’t like the looms with the hooks on the end of the pegs. They look like crochet hooks on the end.
How long does it take you to finish one sock? I have a few challenges 4 kiddos 6 years old 4 years old twins and a 2 1/2 years.
