    YAY! I finished my socks! Thank you SO much for this video! Of course it ended up being easier than it looked. This time next week, the local newspaper will read: "California woman found unresponsive beneath sock avalanche. Family says she had a serious knitting addiction..." Thanks again Gina. I'm loving your channel and finished the dog sweater over the weekend! 😊

    I struggle, so hard with my learning disability, My great grandmother raised me and she would try to teach me crochet since I was four I gave up at nine I could do one chain and barely turn around and I could go no further. This loom is so helpful for me to understand But it’s still very complicated because I get my right and left mixed up and skip.
    When I put your videos on, especially this one with the heel. I have been successful and I cannot tell you how much that means to me. I am 57 years old, and I have tried to make crochet slippers, since I was four. Thank you, is not enough. I have a child with ADHD and I appreciate your videos on ADHD. I just really appreciate your videos. Thank you so much you’ve done so much for me.

      Thank you very much for your reply! It's actually my mum attempting to knit the socks. She started off with the heel yesterday following your video but encountered a problem somewhere at the middle. Having a thinner wool she began the heel by e-wrapping 16 pegs of 32 with 3 lines of wool (she also started off the sock in general with 3 lines) and left 4 pegs free instead of the 3 shown in the video due to having more pegs on her loom.
      However, when she got to the point of your video when you picked up 2 threads from a peg and put them over the loom she had trouble picking 3 and ended up with some holes she couldn't repair. She is trying now by e-wrapping 2 lines instead of 3 but the wool is too thin.. Is there any way to make the heel by starting off with 3 lines of wool?
      Thank you very much again!

    I'm doing wrong. This is when I'm attaching the heel at the end. But as I said only on one side. 🤔

      Thank you for leaving this kind comment. Unfortunately I don’t have a written pattern. I had an Etsy shop back when I was actively making videos with written patterns but some people did not like the way I wrote my patterns and they demanded their $1. -$2. Back and gave me one star bringing my feedback down. :( I wrote really easy patterns and not like the normal patterns you see in books and I guess that’s a problem for some. 😞

    What determines the base number of stitches for the heel? Did you select 12 because it is half the total number of posts on the loom or because 12 is generally ideal?
    My loom is 28 posts. Should my ankle be worked from 14 stitches or 12?
    Thanks!

    How do you know how many pegs should be used for the heel? My loom is 31 pegs and I’m making a Christmas stocking

      Sandy Somsen So Sorry! For some reason I didn’t get this notification! I break the heel down and use half the pegs. :-) Were you able to figure it out?❤️

    • @MrsHatlarge
      @MrsHatlarge 3 года назад +1

      I have always done it with 15 (or half the pegs) and left 3 empty pegs on each side like Gina does here. I'm currently working on some stockings for wedding presents and am going to try leaving 1/3 (5) empty on each side and 1/3 (5) left on the pegs in the center. I think it'll make for a bit deeper heel.

    Very helpful but I've watch it 3 times and I'm still confused on when you put the yarn back on. You refer to 5 loops going back on the pegs on each side. I'm seeing 3 empty pegs on both sides of heel area and I know the one furtherest gets 2 stitches on it and the next three gets 1 put back on where does 5 go? Thanks!

    I would like to make these using a 12 peg for my granddaughter, who’s 7 years old. If I calculated correctly for the heel- I would use pegs 1-6, I will have only 1 open peg on each side and 4 in the middle. Is this correct?

    • @GinaLay
      @GinaLay  4 года назад +1

      Janet Knight Pegs 1-6 is correct. I recently posted a video on how to make a mini stocking where I go over the heel. The stitch is different then this video but it’s the same amount of pegs. Here is the link to that video: ruclips.net/video/Z3jsPUGmFrs/видео.html I hope that helps!

    I dont get it.. at 12.55 you say put yhe fifth stich on the fifth peg so you have two of fifth peg.. but youre putting it on 4th.. i have 3 empty pegs on each side as you.. and 5 "free" stitches" .. so should i put double on 5,4 and then single on 3.2.1?

    • @GinaLay
      @GinaLay  7 месяцев назад +2

      Correct. You will have those empty pegs and those will be the double that you will knit. 🧶😊I hope that makes sense.

    I need instruction for this on the 12 peg loom for a baby bootie, as I started one from a youtube video and it was so complicated, that it looked just horrible but I completed it just for a laugh....omg so frustrated. Just watching this to see if it is as complicated at the other one I tried watching...lol HELP....I hope someone makes one of these videos for the 12 peg (flower loom) for baby booties....I want to send one to my granddaughter who is 8 and have her go to a youtube chanel that won't confuse the hell out of her. I am new at this and live on the other side of our country so I can't help her but I learned crochet from youtube and got so much help with my knitting that I had no idea about...if I made a mistake in the past that was it....my work was all for nothing, I had no one to help and I could not understand pattern at all.....but you tube made it possible for me to resume a jumper that was started over 20 years ago..that I put away LOL....now the child that was made for is an adult...but I just wanted to finish it...so now I know how to pick up stitch and so much more....thanks to the wonderful people out there on youtube willing to share their knowledge....I salute you all. This was so much easier to follow along with, I think I can do this but like I said I have a flower loom with 12 pegs and I don't know how many pegs to work on etc....thank you for sharing. I will have a go at making one once I get a bigger loom hopefully one that does children sizes and adults.
