    Really super easy to follow and the masking tape is a great idea, another thing I like about your video is you are not waving the loom all over the place and that has made it easy for me to follow and lastly the instructions at the bottom of the screen is a great help. Well done thank you.

    It's the best tutorial about how to make socks. My first sock looms - KB His&Her was delivered in the night of the New Year :) 1 December 2022 I celebrate by watching this tutorial, I had my very first few knitted rows of my first pair of socks on a sock loom. Thank you so much Isela. We both have now good socks.

    This pattern is ok if you have standard feet. I have a high in step (arch). So, after a long and very interesting search I have developed a pattern that fits my foot, it's worked entirely on this loom and is really easy. If you have the same problem I'll let you know what I've done.

      @@lisaboles1834 hi Lisa, what I did is really simple and I now have socks that fit really well. Knit the cuff and leg as normal until the heel shaping. Knit 5 rows 1 X 1 rib then divide for the heel. However use 70% of the stitches rather than 50%. On the orange loom this works out to be 39 stitches. On the purple loom it's 45 stitches. Work The heel as normal and then, when the short rows are finished, work another 5 rows 1 X 1 rib. Work rest of foot and toe as normal (use 50% of stitches for the toe). Voila! A better fitting sock, for high in step, that grips really well and does not slide down. Enjoy.

      Thd answer is that YES you knit the toe on the same side as the heel. And it works perfectly.
      I was confused when watching the video as I could see the knit pattern on the front of the sock so I thought it must have been knitted on the front.
      But no, you do in fact knit it on the backside (exactly the same as the heel) and it folds over to cover the front too.

    • @girlygamer420
      @girlygamer420 2 года назад +2

      How many row you need depends on your gauge. Example: measure how many stitches and rows you have in a one inch square of a swatch knitted in the yarn you want to use. Ex: 8 stitches and 16 rows. Measure your foot toe to heel. Subtracting 1 1/2 inch for heel and toe, that's 3 inches total that you subtract from your foot measurements. Ex: 9.5 in - 3in =6.5in Now multiply your total by the number of rows in your gauge measurement. Ex: 6.5×16=104 rows. I hope this helps you

    It is a very good video. But the kitchener stitch. I've seen it done on the loom. For those of us with kids or animals that attack us during our projects. That's why I loom knit. So I don't have to take my stitches off.

    In love to watch it but wouldn't it be faster with knitting needles?

      Yes and no. Depends on the knitters mobility and skill.
      In medieval times, there were laws restricting peg knitters from working in some cities because peg knitters were more productive and took business away from pointy stick knitters who couldn't keep up.

    The pattern I am using calls for 64 stitches. Does someone make 64 stitch loom instead of the 56 your pattern calls for

      You can always slow the video down. Also, it's purl, not pearl. :)
