  • This step-by-step tutorial shows you how to knit a locked headband using a long loom or rake loom (double knitting).
Note: The number of pegs & amount of yarn used (and total knitting length worked in the video) are for an adult size headband.
In this tutorial you will learn:
    - How to cast on in figure 8
    - How to work the stockinette stitch
    - How bind off
    - How to join the ends together
    Index of Contents:
    [00:00] - Introduction
    [00:45] - Casting on
    [04:25] - Knitting Row 1
    [05:58] - Repeating Row 1
    [07:34] - Getting the length
    [07:53] - Binding off
    [12:53] - Joining ends
    [16:34] - Weaving in
LOOM: Any long loom can be used. The loom I use in this project has 12 pairs of pegs (XL gauge).
YARN: The yarn I use here is a bulky weight yarn (size #6) called Valeria di Roma HIMALAYA.

Love this and I am working on one now. I was wondering how wide your headband is. Mine is measuring about 7" and seems like it will be too wide. Thank you again for such a great looking project and your easy to follow video!!

If you have a big head then do you loom more rows I love the figure 8 stitch. I use this for blankets and scarfs

does the M stitch and the figure 8 stitch produce the same pattern??

Just a fyi. For those that have done much double loom knitting. When you yo on oneside it can get tight but if you go back and forth it evens out your stitch making it easier to pull over. And if you are doing much much wider then this do the first 2 stitches left and right yo then go the the end of loom and do the same thing working yourself inwardly. Then on the outside it won't be as loosy for you

Always love how easy and succinct your videos are, Tuteate! There aren't very many double-knit loom patterns out there so I really appreciate the designers who take the time to make a video tutorial every now and again :) This is a beautiful pattern using a beautiful yarn and would make excellent gifts or stocking stuffers for the upcoming holiday season. Thank you so much for sharing with us!

Hi! I am very new to looming! I am very excited to make a head hand like this but my only issue is that the stitches are loose! do you have a remedy for that?

I have a question, can you do this in any design and it will work? I'm going to make one for myself and I'm just going to knit it
