+Michael Abramov Tbh Jeremy said a lot of times that his rating on a certain movie shouldn't be compared to another rating of a pass movie. It's different times, different movies, and he was the same person that he is. There is a lot of variables going into what makes a review. It's not that X movie got a C+ and Y movies got a B, so Y is better than X.. That is not tru at all. You also have to take into account that people were expecting different stuff from those to movies, the time that it's between them etc etc
He doesn't give a rating for that reason, if he gave arbitrary numbers then we wouldn't read into the review, he has explained it in a Q&A and in another Vlog.

Even if he were playing a character that was meant to act that way, I still don't think I'd have dug the performance. It just annoyed me too much.
At times it read to me like a teenage fanfic's concept of "evil with quirk".

That is a bad comparison. Thats a show. BvS is not 20 episodes its a 2 in half hour film. Any series on television should have development. Compare movie to movie not TV to Cinema. In that case The walking dead is better than Dare Devil. Jessica Jones is horrible. BC it is too slow and have no development, & Law & Order is one of the most developed films on Television.

Man, DC fanboys really are a bunch of sensitive princesses. I love comics as a whole but the whole DC/Snyder fandom are just beyond sad, it's objectively an average movie guys, let it go.
Also, I don't trust Snyder's direction (his visuals are good, but otherwise his movies are just average), and if I was a DC executive, I would not let him direct JL after his clusterfuck with BvS (the movie was okay, the main fight between Batman and Superman was disappointing, the final fight was boring, and Superman was boring. Batfleck was fucking amazing tho. Wonder Woman was good. The villain had no motivation)

I disagree that it's objectively average, even though I didn't like this movie, it's totally fine if other people like/love it or think it's great, everyone has their own opinion, and that's okay. However I could do without the Snyder/DC fanboys that think of themselves as smarter and superior just because they like a movie that, to them, is some complex masterpiece and calling anyone who doesn't like the movie an idiot or stupid. Some people just take this stuff way too seriously.

Noah Larose A stand alone Hawkeye movie could be great. When fraction wrote for the character it felt a bit like John wick. There's no end of the world senario or huge action set pieces, just a guy armed with a weapon invented during the paleolithic Era trying his dammedest to do the right thing. With a sharp script and a director who understands the character it could be great.

You know, I said the same thing about Michael Bay, and then I learned something. The fanbase is what keeps both of them employed. Fanboys and fangirls will defend their film regardless of the fact that it could be the biggest piece of shit in cinema history. They don't care about how broken or flawed, or convoluted it is, as long as they see their favorite character do what they want on the big screen from what they see in the trailer, they will respect and defend their film, no matter what.
I liked batman in the movie. I don't read comics but i just saw a older batman who saw his old methods didn't work and changed. Comic book movies are not only for comic book readers. The movie has to be good as a movie and not as a adaptation of a comic book.
Superman was interesting but got boring after a while for me.

First time I've been shocked with a jeremy jahns rating. and I'm actually worried about the film now. I've been the biggest cheerleader for this movie and although I've seen loads of reviews helping me temper my expectations, I put A LOT of stock in jeremy jahns' opinions cos they usually line up with my own...but now...I'm genuinely worried that I'm not going to like this movie as much as I want to.

The destruction was a problem for batman at first. At the end of the Vs Movie he learned that sometimes you enemy is just too powerful a force to keep the damage at near zero. There was a scene where batman was in the fight and just watched. There he realized.

From what I heard, Superman was treated badly in this movie. He basically looked like the lamest and the weakest out of The Trinity. Which made me fucking mad because he's my favorite DC character. I guess I'm on Team Marvel now.

This movie shoud of been chopped up into 3 movies:
One with only Superman and Lex Luthor. Where Lex multiple times tricks Superman into these bad situations to make him look bad and sow distrust between the public and Superman. It ends with Superman finally winning the trust of the public and fighting Lex in the LexSuit.
One with Batman, Robin, one of the of the suicide Batman villains, and the Joker. Its just Batman being Batman (taking down crime), putting in prison one of the villains and ends with the Joker killing Robin.
Batman goes berserk and goes hunting for the Joker. He causes a new reign of terror that he has never started before in Gotham. He puts all of the suicide squad villains in prison in the process which lead to the Suicide Squad movie later on. His rampage goes to Metropolis where he finally clashes with Superman. They fight over their different ideologies (hope vs fear). The movie ends up more like the animated cross over of Batman and Superman. The Joker and Lex Luthor cleverly orchestrate the fight between the two in order to get rid of their " Super Hero" problems.
That's only logical for 2 movies. One movie of pure character development? Uh, no.

I think they shouldn't of put basically 3 story arcs in 1 movie. To me it's like Batman v Superman, The Death of Superman and the start of the Justice League all rolled together. They should of held off on putting in Doomsday after a few more movies. Like the stories are already there in the comics have been for over a few decades now. If they just translated the story correctly into a live action movie then it would of probably been a somewhat better movie than what it is now. Besides that Batman warehouse scene. That shit was awesome as all hell. I want more of that kind of Batman lol. And Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor is like Topher Grace as Eddie Brock. A huge swing and a miss on that casting choice.

I still find it kind of funny how Superman couldn't use his super hearing to find his mom when he could easily hear when Lois Lane was in trouble. Now that was some bad writing right there.

I enjoyed 300 the same one I enjoy a cheesy action movie from the 80s. Dawn of the Dead was a solid remake but nowhere near as good as the original. Watchmen looks fantastic, the soundtrack is perfect, and a few performances are pitched expertly. Sadly, it lacks substance and the ending is so messy. Sucker Punch is an atrocity, Guardians of Ga'Hoole is so forgettable, and Man of Steel is the embodiment of mediocrity.
