    - Batman Killing People
    - Wonder women having barley much of a role
    - Lex being a joker rip off
    - Batman and superman becoming friends in seconds of just trying to kill eachother
    - doomsday
    - the ending
    Why Zach Snyder, why...

    The fact that Wonder Woman or Doomsday are in the movie should've been a complete and total surprise to see in the movie, not spoiled in a trailer. Poor editing is what killed the massive hype and better reviews it could've had. It's called Batman V. Superman, not Batman, Superman. and Wonder Woman V. Doomsday.

    • @Moman893
      @Moman893 8 лет назад +27

      I don't even care about that, if you watch a trailer, you should expect spoilers like that. This movie just plain sucked. It was just awful. It was so damn boring I hardly remember anything other than the action scenes, very forgettable movie.

    • @M4ttHatt3r
      @M4ttHatt3r 8 лет назад +20

      +rusty shakleford that's completely false. If you watch a trailer, you only expect to see what the film is going to be like, because there have been times where the trailer is better than the movie. I expected to see build up of Batman v Superman, not see that there's something else going on.

    • @Moman893
      @Moman893 8 лет назад +1

      Matt Wittlinger I have to disagree, trailers spoil things all the time, and in 2016, it's literally impossible to keep things like that under wraps. Wonder Woman / Justice League cameos / Doomsday were all spoiled for me just scrolling through a twitter page I follow. I agree with you that it is certainly annoying though.
      And as far as trailers being better than the movie goes, that happens ALL the time. Which is why I try to avoid watching trailers for superhero movies. I know I'm going to watch it at some point, and a "bad" trailer never means anything.

      +as wqd Thought the same, though i also knew i didn't agree with him if he was mad, and i knew he was gonna be mad cus supes got rekted (As he would fuck supes, and yet he is awesome in the movie here) Some things work so, so well but alot of things lack explanations and they try to balance who the movie is about with way too many Batman flashbacks. This is by no means a bad movie at all 7/10 and excused cus it sets up other movies, which it tries maybe abit too hard on, but the intro and start is awesome, and the end is extremely awesome.

      mrdrebin123 yeah man, personally i didn't think it's a bad movie, but i really want to see more of "Batman fighting Superman" because we didn't see a lot of it in this movie. And this movie is called BvS

    • @matthewmuir8884

      Neo DeOne To be honest though; it wasn't entirely the actor's fault. A large amount of it had to do with the writing and the directing being really inconsistent with how the Lex Luthor character was supposed to be portrayed. It was as if they saw Smallville, decided, "We need to give Lex that backstory and motivation in the worst and most jumbled way possible".
      There were lots of problems with BvS; the casting wasn't the only problem. And even if we just consider the casting and acting, personally, I thought Ben Affleck as Batman was the bigger casting mistake.

    • @givemeapps123

    The producers of this movie made the EXACT same mistake Amazing Spider Man 2 made: It is not interesting to watch a movie set up a franchise. We didn't like the Avengers because it was setting up a franchise, we wanted the franchise BECAUSE we like the movie. They didn't get that here. Franchise-itis is becoming a severe problem in todays movie environment, just like in the 80s we had to suffer through a culture of sequel-itis.

    • @williamozier918
      @williamozier918 8 лет назад +12

      You nailed something that articulates what I mean by franchise-itis: The possibilities. You found the possibilities this movie opened more exciting than the movie itself. That's what studios are trying to do now with franchise-itis, they make a movie with exciting possibilities at the sacrifice of making the movie actually exciting in and of itself.

    After seeing all the hate towards this movie in reviews and youtube videos, I came to conclusion - people are fucking dumb.
    I am really getting tired of this mentality of seeing movies as products, as if director should satisfy every viewer. If you go to a movie only to compare it to other movies and just see the problems in it, you have completely missed the point of art. When we go to the movies, we should just go for the ride, and what a ride this movie was, if you let it in and just enjoy it. You should concentrate on what the director is trying to say with his work, not just pick stuff that you don't like just to feel smart.
    There was this whole philosophical/religious depth to it, that most people missed. Performances were great also. Zack Snyder really tried to bring something new and different to the table and I really respect that.
    But if you like your ass getting kissed all the time, watch Marvel.

      +Kapteinis Reinis You are right, sometimes art can be really bad, like this movie.
      Seriosuly, if people are saying it's bad it's because they didn't enjoy it, people don't go to the cinema with the idea that they'll fucking hate the movie they're gonna see. If it's bad, it's bad, it's that simple. And if you liked it, good for you.

    Bullshit...The movie was awesome for its soundtrack the clash between batman and superman the awesome batman fighting like its the arkham games the superman being conflicted with his own actions the famous batman quotes batman says when hes fighting superman the 3 coming together to fight lex's last method to destroy superman via doomsday batmans costumes supermans costumes.

      The narrative is messy, characters are shoe horned, the conflict feels forced when it should not, and is twice of pretencious with the Jesus analogies compared with Man of Steel. It's a clusterfuck that ruins the whole potential of the movie.

    I said it when the trailer came out. It was a story written by committee. Superman is now Batman. Batman is now Iron Man. Luthor is now Joker. They're just copying what works from successful superhero movies point by point and it hurts because these characters are better than that.
    The obvious choice for the villain the story of mistrust for Superman here was Brainiac. Ironically, they decided they couldn't do this because it would be too close to Ultron and the most clueless moviegoer would be able to see that. So instead we got Hulk monster. And it's sad they thought they had to use Doomsday for this, when Bizarro could have filled that role nearly as well. Maybe Superman could have been a little protective of him, learned to be above all the death and destruction he's trying to stop. Maybe then I would _feel_ something when I see Superman's symbol and actually believe it stands for hope...

      You are so right. It's why there are moments where the actual writers work shines through, moments that have depth and are very emotional, and then there are terrible parts. Like Batman not giving a shit about killing civilians. He isn't 'iron man', he's the Punisher.

      In terms of comics, it could go either way. The problem is that DC's movies aren't being faithful to the comics whereas Marvel is.
      If you watch an animated DC movie like Batman: Under the Red Hood, or Justice League: Doom, they are just as good if not better than most Marvel live-action movies.

Not that such were needed, 2nd trailer spelled everything out and indeed, that's how it plays out (sans the details). I started tearing my ticket down to 100s of pieces somewhere around the 3rd dream/vision/flashback scene and was out the door the moment the credits started rolling. The whole movie felt like a set up for future films and so much so, that it forgot to be a great movie on its own. Action was great though, so, hey, that's that.

    I was so disappointed with this movie.
    I wanted this to be a coming of age story for Superman with Batman as a pseudo-mentor. Batman has lost Robin and has become bitter and cynical. He has grown hostility towards Superman for the death of his employees. Superman has tried his best to become the hero the world needed but finds out not everything is as simple as that. Lots of animosity and conflict around the world couldn't be solved just by him going there to save the day (without going full on injustice). The hostility of metropolis incident also weigh into this. This young Superman tries to address the public but split between love and hate for him puts an emotional strain on him further confusing him. Lois is the one thing that holds him together.
    On the other side of the spectrum, Lex Luther funds a smear campaign against Superman. Lex Luther is a self-made man who started out from the bottom. Similar to his comic book origins, he grew up in the slums with abusive parents. After rigging the breaks on his parent's car killing them, he clawed his way to the top using cold calculations and any means necessary until he became one of the most celebrated personalities in the world with nothing to stop him until the Metropolis incident. He was right near the the fight between Zod and Superman and was nearly killed. He woke up in a pool of blood next to the people who died near him. For the first time, Lex felt fear.
    Batman investigates Superman and having learned that Lex Luther acquired Kryptonite, attempts to use it to assassinate Superman from afar. But he doesn't go through with it after seeing how kind hearted Superman is. Batman confronts Superman several times. They cleared up misunderstandings but still couldn't stand each other. Superman couldn't stand Batman's brutality and Batman couldn't stand Superman's recklessness and wavering optimism creating a stalemate. But within that optimism, Batman flashback and remembers why he is fighting: to protect the innocent and make sure no other boy would lose his parents like him. Batman supports Superman without admitting so.
    Meanwhile Lex studies Kryptonian tech and the secrets they hold. He also purposely let Batman steal the Kryptonite so that he could kill Superman. But since that hasn't been accomplished yet, he orchestrated to have Lois and a group of people (or Martha) secretly kidnapped to be dropped from a tall building several thousands of miles apart from each other without revealing the location and having Superman try to figure out where it is. Still inexperienced, he only managed to save the other hostage but not Lois. This sent Superman into a rage as he goes on a war path to Lex. Batman attempts to stop him with a Mech suit, and after a huge struggle defeats him using kryptonite. Batman then reminds Superman that he shouldn't kill Lex and that he should be a symbol of hope which snaps Superman after he remembers what he told Lois about his S symbol. He also remembers he still has his mother.
    He then teams up with Batman to take down Lex. Lex built himself a war suit from what he salvaged from the Kryptonian ship powered by kryptonite. It for some reason could hold its own against Superman. With Batman's help, they beat Lex. In prison, Lex takes jabs at the two heroes (like making fun of Batman for being traumatized by his parent's death despite being privileged). He then reveals that the suit he made wasn't made from Kryptonian tech, but from a more powerful tech that was found inside probably discovered by the kryptonians (New God tech). Lex Luther's real goal was to get rid of Superman and replace him as the savior of the world and become a symbol of humanity's strength. He believes that humans grow stronger through failure and relying on Superman will make humanity weak which will soften the planet when "he" comes.
    Taking this threat seriously, Superman and Batman prepares to act, suggesting future team ups. If we got anything like this, it would have been an epic movie. Not this edgy pretentious crap

      In defense of Snyder's Superman,it is the "purist" to the lore that we've ever had on film. This superman has sacrificed his self for humanity in both movies, he is depicted as a selfless hero , especially in the "Martha" scene, asking to save another's life instead of his own. There were plenty of hopeful inspiring moments in MOS ..and the flying scene wasn't dark...in fact this superman isn't dark ,his circumstances are, the current world is dark ...and he's conflicted ,just as the world is conflicted about him...Superman has always had the same critique for 75 years,that he's not "relatable"...well ,now thanks to Snyder he's relatable..who hasn't ever been conflicted? who hasn't gone through searching for who they really are?? Heroes develop ,they don't just show up as some perfect flawless angel ...People crack me up,they complain that there's no "character development" ...then in the very next breath complain about his inner conflict about how his great power fits in the world...you know..CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT ...The exact things he went through in MOS and BvS ,he went through in early canon, in early canon ,not only was he conflicted ,but so were Johnathan and Marta Kent, there's an early storyline were Marta asks " If people react bad to different races, genders,foreigners ,just think how they will act toward an alien"...You hear all the time "Snyder is a good visualist,but not a good storyteller" well,here's a news flash...visuals are a large part of storytelling...and IMO he is an excellent and complex storyteller.
      Also , (this is what really makes Snyder's version the purist)-Snyder's superman is inspired by the same thing superman's creators were..the 1930's classic literature by Philip Wylie "Gladiator"., Wylie’s story is filled with heavy helpings of moral ambiguity, Gladiator comes off as a thoroughly modern and adult superhero story. Indeed, when the story was adapted for comics in 1976 by Roy Thomas and Earl Norem,(about 40 years after it inspired superman) it was published by Marvel in their adult-oriented black-and-white magazine Marvel Preview. In the original novel ,he is indirectly, responsible for the death of an innocent. He considers both a life of heroism,and a life of hiding and chooses, or stumbles into, something decidedly in-between. He wanders from place to place, from situation to situation, never coming to terms with who he is and the power that he possesses. All of the pathos that Zack Snyder summoned up in Man of Steel and BvS is lifted right from these pages. Hugo grows a beard** and goes to sea**. . Gladiator reminds me of a mid-eighties DC graphic novel written in prose, everything is dark and conflicted, erotic and bloody.~ And this GRIM tale is what inspired Superman's creators...and obviously Snyder ..But I guess going all the way back to what inspired superman in the first place ,make Kal unrecognizable to the ignorant , the audio book of this novel is on youtube, in sections, if you watch video 2 onward , you will see Snyder's superman ,right down to the tiniest detail , this is the very core of superman...Snyder is taking about 3 movies to develop superman,yet he gets accused of "RUSHING"..and he certainly is not..I wish people would respect the idea of having an opinion by looking closer before forming one ,since opinion is such a valuable thing...but I guess having knee jerk reactions and jumping on the negative /critical band wagon is sexy these days.

    • @ghostofsparta757
      @ghostofsparta757 8 лет назад +7

      wonder fag First off, I never ragged on Man of Steel. For what it was as an introductory movie while underwhelming was a decent watch and the Superman there was competently written (not that special though). At the end of Man of Steel, he was confident and had a presence of authority that allows him to demand that the US military not spy on him. The Superman in BvS felt like Superman at the beginning of Man of Steel but injected with 10 times the dosage of emo. You might say he changed in the 18 months, I will say "well where's the development to this point?" He was nothing like he was at the end of Man of Steel made worse by the fact that he doesn't try to speak to anyone and his screen presence was all but non-existent. His only chance to speak his mind was literally blown up in order to create some forced drama. Selfless? Did you miss the fact that Superman fought against Batman for five minutes while his mother was held hostage instead of being the bigger man, taking the hits, and trying to calm down Batman? Also selfless is not relatable. It's egoism that makes a character interesting. What makes people criticize Superman is not because he is a boyscout or the fact that he is not dark but that fact that he reacts to situations instead of making his own decisions. Superman is always more interesting when he tries to change the world directly or indirectly, not as passive character. There is no free will in this movie. Everything feels like everything must be staged in order to get to the big fight no matter how forced instead of a series of logical events that lead to it.
      Another problem with BvS and a bit of Man of Steel. They are pretentious. They ask questions but never try to answer or explore it. So what if Superman is a godly alien? So what if Superman is surrounded by animosity because he is foreign? So what if he is space jesus? What is the point? Asking questions in a movie is not smart.
      Your second paragraph is irrelevant. References to other work hold no merits. A work must stand on it's own without relying on other works to explain it. Relying on other people's work is plagiarism. I don't care if some random writer is referenced. I don't care if it's in the comics. A movie or movie series must stand on it's own.

We are talking film. The films are the eboodiment of the comics come to life. No one does it better than Snyder and Nolan.
      For you to say you dislike literally THREE films in a row from the DCEU - tells me you are nothing more than an MCU zealot and a former DC fan. You simply cannot call yourself a DC fan at this point bro. That MCU kid shit doesn't even come close to the grandeur and epic scope of the DCEU films. They are making somehting way more epic and way more deep and connected than the very light in the loafers and colorless MCU.
      You also loss mad points attempting to talk about the look of Snyder's films as being colorless when there is a documentary gone viral that shows how the MCU does not color grade their films and the DCEU and nearly other film out there DOES. Nice try MCU guy. You guys all study the same playbook.

      I'd agree with him. BvS had flaws, but it had some kick ass moments as well, things that truly deserved being done. Check out Joe's crossover with the Nostalgia Critic on this. I think it sums it up perfectly.
      As for X-men Apocalypse, I thought it was just a mess. Didn't even have the same coherence, awesome visuals, or seriousness that BvS had.

    • @zlazher
      @zlazher 8 лет назад +3

      Alex N BvS had HUGE flaws!! Don't let me start with BvS coherence, wb and Zack S. Tried to fit like 3 different stories in one movie so bad and rush to keep up with Marvel's avengers, and it's awesome I want to see the justice ligue, but not too rush like this, avengers took many years and movies to keep thinks together, and wb wanted to do that in 2 movies...

    • @anatwick18
      @anatwick18 8 лет назад

      True, but I feel rushed movie is better than a totally mess like X-men was. Yeah, there are a lot of plot holes in BvS, but I was able to look past them more easily. Don't get me wrong, it had a ton of problems, but overall I think it was a better movie.

      +Michael Asuquo there's no thread. The scenes make no sense. The characters show up and next scenes appear somewhere completely different and then it cuts to something completely random without the last scene finishing. Every character seems to be telepathic and know what happened elsewhere. Batman finishes a fight with superman and is now best buds, next scene he's out of His metal suit and inside a plane.
      There's absolutely no flow.

    The movie was god awful. Batman's metal suit gave him no extra powers to fight Superman like in the graphic novel The Dark Returns, Lex Luther was the Joker, Lois Lane was everywhere as if she was a actual member of The Justice League. The secret identity thing was just thrown in the trash, which is a shame because that is a long standing comic book mainstay and appeal. The movie was just awful. It is entertaining, but it is awful.

    This was the most horrendously edited movie i’ve seen in a good ten years. Almost every single scene was haphazardly put together, thus creating plot holes big and small that made me cringe throughout the movie. As a result of this the actions of the characters are nonsensical to the point that it feels like they know plot points that they shouldn’t know. Also Zack snyders attempts at shoving in his philosophy of superheroes was painful to watch. He is clearly way in over his head. This movie wasn’t a failure because it was too dark, or too intense. By all means it set the tone perfectly. It’s a failure because it was just plain poorly made. Snyders cockiness and horrendous editing made what could have been one of the best superhero movies ever into a pile of dog sh*t.

      +Damazy Włodarczyk Not only that, he's blatantly rude to his friends when they disagree with something he's irrationally emotional towards.

      +Damazy Włodarczyk Joe is the kind of friend you just want to slap in the face sometimes. A nice guy but can be super annoying and rude at times. Hes like my family in that aspect.

    Joe, if you want to talk by yourself, don't invite others. Watching you not let others have their say is annoying

    While desperately and pitifully attempting to pay homage to at least four different DC story arcs, BvS:DOJ is a series of barely connected and erratic scenes culminating in a barely watchable film. Five pounds of crap in a four pound bag. Five star anticipation...two and a half star disappointment.

    What was DC thinking giving Zack Snyder control over their whole cinematic universe? He really is not a good director.

    Zack Snyder's movies are always just a big clusterfuck. The first half of the movie is always so good but then the second half just is a big clusterfuck.

    IMDB: You're going to go to war
    Rotten Tomatoes: those fanboys brought the war to us
    IMDB: They are not our enemy
    Rotten Tomatoes: if their is a movie with 31% percent rating we have to take it as an absolute certainty it is bad

    What's the worse thing about this movie is the fanboys in the comments trying to defend it and have convinced themselves it's a great movie

    Joe. These reviews don't make sense if you talk all the time and the people you invited to share their oppinions are constantly interrupted by you. That's not only unprofessional, but plain rude.
