Soak wet sand paper in water for 24 hours before use. It works much better. Also when buffing use masking tape on the ridges so you don’t accidentally burn through then peal it off and do them last. It’s not hard to do them by hand. Any high dollar car I do I will tape up ridges and hand finish them. Most of the time I just hit them with the buffer last after the rest of the car is done. Great videos. I have been painting cars since 92. I am super impressed with your spray can jobs.

Actually the opposite you never soak it in the water for a long for a long. Of time because the Sandpaper will fall apart and it will lose its coarseness so it's generally useless are you wasting your money

@@JamesDguy while there are tons of haters on the internet, dismissing somebodys comment when your work is substandard doesnt make their observations disappear. While this paint job is ok, its not great. And its not finished. The paint itself was put on fairly decent, time will tell if it was allowed to properly flash, or if the coats were too thick, but the paint looks passable. The issue with this particular video was the cutting of corners on the sanding, which wouldnt be a big deal, IF you buffed it with 3 compounds... but you barely did 1. And i paint guitars now, but painted cars for many years before. I would have got fired for that quality. And i can absolutely spray a car with rattle cans. Did many cars with spray bombs. I do most guitars with spray bombs. This is an example of cutting corners, not quality work. What separates quality from half-assed work is the ability to just keep working, and the ability to see what still needs to be done

Looks great! Few tips, start with a wool cutting pad will make quick work of the job, then switch to a foam, use a polish after the compound. Or a wax then a polish. Could start with a 1500. Then go to a 2k and a smaller pad would help you work the tool, you not really comfortable with the buffer, it takes time but it will be your third hand some day. Then you will try and make someone else do it lol

@@steeldragon9701 if by paint you mean the clear coat, then you could probably add more clear but there’s still a chance of getting orange peel, in order to get minimal orange peel you would have to have a professional do it, even then you can still have some orange peel but doing a 2000 grit wet sand won’t hurt the protection that much as long as the clear isn’t too thin

What you used is good for a fast buff job but it has fillers in it and only fills light scratches and imperfections temporarily, m105 buffing compound actually gets rid of the imperfections and scratches and uses NO fillers.

Then I hit it with a cut polish (2000G equivalent) then fine and then swirl remover....tan pad first, yellow pad second and black pad last...then some speed way and a HUGE bill to the owner (never me). My prices start at $900 for a cut and buff of factory paint and go up from there. I have recleared about 100 vehicles over factory paint with euro clear and show buffed from there...flat as glass...BUT looks like PUKE with the slightest scratch....careful; what you wish for.

I really like the pink and black. The pink reminds me of "panther pink," an old Mopar muscle car color. Would look hot on a new Challenger with black RT stripes. Very interesting and informative video

I just sent a gift, it's extremely small but you have my drive that I used to have and I'm going to try and get my motivation back by watching your video. Like most people I know I never really had much until I was about 27-28 and those first 12 years working on my cars was hell. We were always trying to do the most with the least amount of material and equipment. And these videos just remind me of myself in the past trying to make a dollar out of 15 cents, or trying to make a nice paint job with a handful of spray cans and some soap and sand paper and a bottle of Maguire and a shop rag... Luckily I have been able to stay out of trouble and off drugs and booze and work hard to get to where I feel a bit more comfortable in my Mid 30's. Not doing great but good enough to know you deserve a bit more just by watching your drive and ambition during your RUclips projects. Good luck in future and don't take the negative comments to heart, they are watching YOU do something cool.
