Great video. I just did this exact job on my 2007 Infiniti m35. P0345 code. I bought a set of sensors from Amazon and this video helped tremendously. My car was losing power while driving. As of now I have completed replaced the bank two sensor and reset ecm per this video. My check engine light is off and car fired right up. I let it idle for about 30 minutes. Before fix it would die 6-8 minutes into idle. After I drive it I will come back to give an update.
Dude my 350z was throwing a p1078 and I was having problems figuring out exactly what part I needed as the guys at the parts store kept telling me wrong info. This changes the game lol thanks bro
thank you for the chart and info brotha. Ordered the wrong sensor twice and couldn't find the correct part number until I viewed the chart you put in the video. Good looking out.
Thanks for this vid. I have not changed mine yet, but I am going to follow your procedure for sure. Very concise instructions with a bit of humor thrown in, love it! Thanks again!
i have a non rev up 03 model Z, had p0345, replaced it, cleared the engine codes but it keeps throwing the code. Any idea why? All the problems (stalling, dying, running bad) went away so i assume that fixed it, an no other codes, dont get it....
Thankyou for this info, I just bought a clean 2006 350z, did a thorough check over before purchasing but somehow I missed the damn check engine light. Did the diy engine code thing and it came up with 1078. Ordered a replacement exhaust cam sensor however I will do all the rest for preventative maintenance shortly after.
I just got the p1078 code today. It idles at 1,100 rpm. Its odd that the exhaust sensor on bank 1 is the same sensor as the intake sensor on bank 2 and vice versa
I have a 2003 Infiniti G35 Coup non rev up. With Brembo Brake Package. I just started getting a code for PO 340 - Camshaft Position Sensor A - Ban 1 Circuit Malfunction but I also got another code at the same time for PO 327 - Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input Bank 1 or Sensor 1. Do you think the Camshaft Position Sensor is triggering the 2nd code?
So on the revup there's 1 angled and 1 regular on the back of both right? I've changed the cam sensors but was kinda confused om the exhaust valve timing control sensor..that's right next to them right? Thanks a bunch.. so basically 2 of each
Do any of y’all know if a platinum spacer will throw off the camshaft position sensor ? I’m having trouble with it I changed the sensor and did the reset it runs fine but if I turn it off and then back on it will do the same thing or would I have to switch both sensors
Agreed. Been fighting these the last 4 years. Finally picked up some lifetime sensors for both camshaft and the crank sensors. The manufacturer says replace all 3 at the same time so when they go out in the future I'll just return all 3 every time.
Is it possible that sensors are bad and there is no engine light? I have problems with my car and I'm about to replace all camshaft and a crankshaft sensor because I dont know anymore what could be wrong but I don't have any codes or nothing when i scan it.. (nissan 350z vq35hr). Thanks in advance!
I have the same code P0340 on the other bank and i can't find the problem. I changed the sensor and nothing changed. It sounds weird in the Bank 1 . Thanks
Are u still active I have a question of what u experience when driving with a bad p0340 sensor. I’ve been thinking my clutch was slipping because the rpms raise but the car doesn’t accelerate much, which is a known symptom of a slipping clutch. My can sensor light recently came on and I think that’s what’s making it feel like my clutch is slipping. I’m hoping that’s changing the sensor with fix the “clutch slipping ” feeling. What do u think did u experience the feeling of the clutch slipping?
i have a problem and is that after replacing i do all the steps at the end and it works no check engine or nothing but when i turn the car off and try to turn it back on it has a hard start and i have the cts, slip and check engine light 😢 already changed the sensor twice, checked the harness, and replaced the battery any ideas?
i had to remove the driver side one with the wiring still attached, and then used a long thin flat head to push the tab in and pulled it. I had same issue at first, very frustrating, but doing that helped when i could actually see what i was doing, did from driver side after I got the sensor out of the motor from the passenger side like he is
im not sure if you still respond but my 06 rev up and i have the engine code 1078 but i just have a question could this be the reason why my car just shuts off randomly?
Might need to clean ur MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor and clean your throttle body, after that do an rpm re-learn on your car (pretty simple search up yt vid), if that doesnt work thennn replace ur cam sensors and ur crank sensor
Hi bro, I got the P1078 error code. I already bought an exhaust Valve Timing Control Position for bank 1. Perfectly unscrewed the bold but there's no way I can pull the sensor out. It twists and turns left and right but I can't manage to pull it out. Any advice on how should I proceed? Thanks
I had on bad sensor but decided to swap both and did the rest and everything. It came back on within 15 mins. It’s now throwing the code p1084 idk what’s going on … maybe Oriley sold me a bad sensor ??
HELP PLEEEEAAASSEEE! I removed the drivers side camshaft sensor and the gree tab connector broke off.. I put it back in but its loose and easy to pull up and down.. Please tell me how to fix this!??! I was having starting troubles and it was running rough. But i literally just checked the sensor, pushed it back in the best I could and it started up right away!
So the green locking tab is broken? :/ I suppose the best fix would be to wire in a new harness/connector right there. The easiest/"not officially recommended" fix is to zip tie that connector down somehow so it doesn't come out
@@windows_down_ maaannn. 1st off, thank you for getting back to me so damn quick. I truly appreciate you. And 2nd, it shouldn't be that hard to wire in a new harness/ connector for someone who knows jack shit about electrical but does understand the G35? And If i were to try and jimmy rig it with a zip tie, how would I go about that??? Thank you thank you again!
@@americanbyforce6874 The wiring is probably really hard to get to. I'd be sure that the green tab is broken, maybe the connector just isn't pressed in all the way. The green connector should pop out. If it is broken then just making sure the connector stays on is key. I've seen some shops use a high temperature epoxy to make sure it stays on there - not that it's the best solution.. When in doubt you can always take it to a mechanic
@@windows_down_ i'm pretty sure it is broken. Like 100%. And yeaah I wouldn't use epoxy on that. But all of you advice has been helpfull. Thank you very much kind sir. You've earned a sub! ♡
Dude that chart you put at the beginning is a god send. Thanks for sharing!

You could easily take off the upper and lower plenum and have really easy access. Saves me time

dude, i have never seen such an informative video like this one. very entertaining and also tons of knowledge. great video bro 💪🏾

This is best video. Love the charts. Simple + easy to understand. Thanks

possibly bad starter
You need to relearn the camshaft sensor
How do you do that?@@DreddKnot.
Do the relearn and clear the codes after even if none present. If still throws it's VVT solenoids
Not all Heroes wear capes. Awesome video. Thanks mate.
Glad it helped!
Your a lifesaver !
Do I have to reset my ecu after I put in the new sensor even if there’s no engine light?

Can a aftermarket camshaft sensor be used, will it work properly or not?
Didnt they make revised versions of these sensors?
Am driving M45 do I have to do them steps or can I use obd2 scanner to erase the codes! Also the car shut off after a few minutes… @windowsdown
dude youre a beast thank you so much
I feel like I need to change these every 6 months now ever since getting over 90k miles
Same, may be worth doing all of them or getting ones with a lifetime warranty

03 non rev up, bogs at 3K rpm, if i replace both camshaft sensors and clean the throttle body should i be good?
Could u just unplug battery for 15mins 2 reset sensor?
If it’s RHD are the sensors in opposite position or still the same?
perfect guide

Can you just disconnect battery
so if u have a de non rev up you buy 1 of each do you buy 2 of each for the rev up?
yes

Cancer in a box 😂
Great video!
lol thanks Tetris T!
I am pushing the tab forward until my thumbs bleed and the sensor will not move at all. Tips?
I'd try to get a tool on it. Like a small socket or something you can push on harder. Maybe spray it with some pb blaster or wd40 to clean it up

What if you don’t do the ECU relearn after installing it?
I don't think it'll cause any problems, just may take a while for the engine code to clear
