I have 08 G35 which just yesterday started shaking and the check engine light flashing. Initially i thought my spark plug was the issue that causes the car to shake bcuz it happened when i owned and ACURA 3.2TL but after a visit to both AutoZone and Advanced Auto code P0084 Exhaust Valve Control solenoid circuit Bank 2 was the diagnosis. What does this mean plz?
Literally bought an 06 this morning. I wasn’t too familiar with the car until a couple months ago I was scrolling looking for a decent used 350z and one of these popped up. I love these cars.
how many miles on your 06? I am looking into an 05 but saw another video that says 05-07 has rev up engine therefore leading to problems with piston ring etc. need to rebuild engine. Now I am a little bit concerned.
Someone is selling this car g35 for 2000$ but she said the car fluctuates when driving ? My job is 5 minutes away so Im thinking of buying it and fixing it since I live by work
I just purchased a 2004 G35 with about 153k miles (I know high but I don't drive too much and the cars last AT LEAST 200k on the engine if you treat it right) I want to include a list of issues I have had to add on to 1A's video The list will be helpful for anyone looking to buy a G or already has one and to see what problem may arise. 1st- The window motor & regulator Never had such a problem with ANY car in my life then a G35 with the windows!! If you are unlucky then the windows will go down and not come back up! Better make sure you have a tarp! I had to replace BOTH driver and passenger motor & regulators Also from some research I have done the sunroof may have issues but luckily I have been safe on that for now. 2nd- Crankshaft & Cam Sensors 1A had this one the sensors go bad after about 100k from what I have researched so if your G has more or coming up may be a good idea to replace them as bad sensors can cause your car to stall/turn off completely in the middle of the road! Scary!! I would recommend replacing them all at the same time if you can if not both bank 1 and 2 then later the crankshaft. 3rd Misfires These VQ engines are prone to misfires from bad spark plus bad coil packs bad valve cover gaskets ETC. In my case I just had gotten my valve cover gaskets replaced as well as my transmission fluid changed and pushing the pedal to the medal as the kids say I had a misfire in the forum in code P0305 which is a misfire in Cylinder 5. In my case I'm still figuring out the cause but I'm sure its a bad spark plug/coil pack as these cars from 100k need a good tune up to keep the running strong. Hopefully your G is alot better then mine drive fast turn safe!
I have a 04 coupe been having it for 5 years only problem I had with it with my radiator cracked they are really reliable cars as long as you take care of them and always remember to check your oil it’s just a VQ thing
I've had 2 G35's, never had 9/10 the problems mentioned here. The one we did have was the crankshaft position sensor. Also common are the oil burning issues, cam cover oil leak leading to ruined ignition coils, and the seat airbag repeatedly sending an error.
I had 3 of these a 2004 RWD red a 2005 AWD black & a 2006 RWD silver all were Sedans I loved all 3 were great cars I only changed the crankshaft senor and bank 1 camshaft sensor in the 2006 these G35 are awesome just buy one from someone who has maintained it properly
Before cleaning the "Butterfly" disconnect the Battery. This might prevent you from getting a code or having to perform a idle relearn foot dance procedure to correct now induced idle problems. The Throttle body throat accumulates soot and should be throughly cleaned.
@@Iraqveteran-ke6qu it’s relatively affordable but you need more than just a supercharger kit. Add some cooling mods and the usual FBO kits and you’ll love it. 400-500whp easily on a SC build. 700whp+ if you go turbo though.
Major issue with engine shuts off randomly at stop light and sometimes on highway. I Replaced crankshaft sensor, spark plugs, cleaned throttle body, manifold and maf sensor. Still same issue. I’ve been searching on forums and others are having same issues.
Had almost the same thing, car would die not on highways but after them and just randomly after sitting at lights. Was a bad fuel pump, it's easy to do yourself on this car but don't cheap out on the pump if you do it yourself. You can get the full assembly for like $3-400 and doing that is a lot easier than only doing the pump.

Fortunately, the system is stuck on 76 degrees auto, so ac in summer and heat in winter. I will not again consider a Nissan product.
I've owned my '05 g35x for 2 years now & I CAN attest that 4 of these 5 problems ARE true. 1. I just had to replace the camshaft sensor bank 1 (not crankshaft) like 2 days ago because it stalled on me twice & had a hard time starting back up. super easy fix $20 sensor. 2. My brake lights do not stay on but my reverse lights all of a sudden stopped working about a month ago. 3. Timing chain BEEN shot my entire time owning this vehicle, It sounds like a loose bike chain when I accelerate. In addition to this the engine rattles HARD on every cold start. I never knew what it was, the internet says these engines are notorious for this noise do to lack of oil circulation & it only happens for about a second. 4. My issue with fuel is I was never able to tell how much fuel I have in my car... I replaced both float sensors in the gas tank (yes this car has 2 fuel float sensors) AND took apart the gauge cluster & soldered a brand new motor & needle for the fuel gauge & it still was inaccurate. Its funny that this video popped up in my recommended because the transmission just went out this morning.. this car was was super quick, sturdy & heavy it was not cheaply built at all but it has been a nightmare the entire 2 years these problems listed aren't even half of it.
how nightmare is it? how much did you spend or you would have spent if you have a mechanic to fix the problems? I am looking to buy a one owner 05 G35 sedan with almost 100k miles all are local miles not highway miles.

@@joseborrero2402 I just got done rebuilding my entire suspension on my 06 G35X. Saved a ton of money doing it myself and it was all a first for me. Google and RUclips work wonders lol
The brake light issue isnt so much the gear, but the plastic stopper that breaks and falls off. All this needs to be fixed is a bolt/ nut or new plastic stopper where the old one breaks and falls off. Wheel bearings. Oil blowby ( why every VQ needs a catch can on the pass side) and people need to stay on top of their oil levels.
Yes, more than likely air still in the system. There is an air release valve on the passenger side. It's black plastic and looks like a Phillips head screw. There have been times I've had to actually pour coolant in there to get rid of the air. The cooling system on the 2004 G35 is hard to remove the air for some reason. Keep burping it.
They were still making the G35 coupe in 2007. I agree with others about the 2003 G35 being the first generation though. The Infiniti G20 was a rebadged Nissan Primera and FWD. The G20 lasted for 2 generations and was discontinued in 2002. The only thing the G20 and G35 have in common is the Infiniti brand and G in their model names.
New View Reviews That’s strange how the 2005 refresh got improved longer lasting brakes, but more oil consumption. The 2005 model refresh was improved in most areas at least.
I'm thinking of getting a a g35 coupe, 2003, manual. The owner says it need a throw out bearing. Is 2003 to old of a car? He has 88k miles, I still have to do a carfax to verify.
I have a g35 sedan 2003 with 105K miles and runs great. Today this car offers a better driving experience than the new Honda Civic Sport we purchased last year. The car has a low gas mileage in comparison to today’s mpg standards and needs high octane gasoline but every trip is a pure joy. So, too old? If it fits your needs, you should not care.
If only this awesome woman could check my g35x woushhh !! Im sure after not even half a day I could get out with a fresh baby and know clearly what ALL problems we're.
Damn I havent had any of these problems with my 07g35s sedan with over 200,000 miles on it but it does burn some freaking oil wont find a leak but you will sure find that your a half a quart short once a month
Very common to burn oil with this car specially with that much mileage... I have a 2006 g35 with 235k miles. I was losing about 1 quart every 1k miles. But I also had an oil leak from the Oil Filter and Lower oil pan. So I had to replace the o-ring seal and oil pan gasket. Also end up replacing my AC and Power Steering drive belts. The car now is running way better than before. I'm hoping to get another 100k miles out of it... Only thing I had to replace outside of my routine maintenance in the past 3 years were. - Bank 1 sensor (common) - Driver side sending unit - New MAF sensors - Gas gauge (common)
@@baldpnoy410 are you the first owner? I am checking out a one owner 05 G35 with almost 100k miles. Now I am scared of the issues of piston ring problems because the rev up engine for 05-07. I don't want to spend $6k and then have to replace or rebuild the engine.
Dealerships don’t fix your car for free,,, So if you call them asking about RECALLS ( free repairs) they can simply say NO IT DOESN’T HAVE ANY AND HANG UP 😂 What makes you believe they will be so happy to bring your car in and service for FREE lol
I had an 04 coupe and it was a nightmare for me. The brakes always squeaked really loud, even when I got new ones and rotors, the doors would never stay open and always close on their own, the seatbelt never went back into place automatically, and would often get caught by the door because it closes on its own, the windows would open automatically sometimes, the camshaft sensor went out twice for me and this completely shuts off the car aka a fuckin death sentence depending where you are or if you’re parked it will leave you stranded smh nice car and quick, but not worth it with all those problems. Got a 2012 civic sedan and have had it for 10 months and no problems at all, great on gas, the doors don’t shut on their own when you open them, no seatbelt issues, no electrical issues, nothing lol can’t beat having a Honda or Toyota
Crap car !! Badly build.. they are selling like cheap cheap. Very few people wants them. Every car has different and similar problems. Many new problems and it’s terrible
They really are crap. I have an 04 G35x. Nissan's quality was very bad at this time. I feel Carlos Ghosn buried the company for profitability. Even if they are building much better cars now, people who owned Ghosn era nissans will never buy one again.

@@joseborrero2402 I just got done rebuilding my entire suspension on my 06 G35X. Saved a ton of money doing it myself and it was all a first for me. Google and RUclips work wonders lol
Just bought one with very bad wheel bearings

How much of this do I have to care about if I only plan on drifting?
My cars radio and dash stopped working at the same time what could it be
The brake light issue isnt so much the gear, but the plastic stopper that breaks and falls off. All this needs to be fixed is a bolt/ nut or new plastic stopper where the old one breaks and falls off.
Wheel bearings.
Oil blowby ( why every VQ needs a catch can on the pass side) and people need to stay on top of their oil levels.

What about overheating problems? I replaced thermostat and after a couple months It started overheating again
did you replace it with an OEM thermostat?
Did you properly air burp the system? I wish I was kidding but it took me 3 tries to get properly burped because of layout/design
Hello guys, can you guys do top 5 on a first gen nissan armada?

If I were to Order a set of Rear Upper and Lower Control Arms for a 2001 Pathfinder. How fast is Delivery on those Parts?
+Will King Our free ground shipping takes and estimated 3 to 5 business days for delivery.
U do know 03 to 07 is the first generation of g35
It’s actually the 2nd generation. The first was a Nissan Sentra clone. The G20….the number mean the engine designation. 2.0 inline four and a 3.5 V6.
03 to 06. After 07 was the next Gen.
@@tagjr9744 G20 isn't the same car. It was a front wheel drive, transverse mounted engine. Has nothing to do with G35 (Japanese Skyline)
How about some of the engines burning excessive oil lol up to the point where owners have to check the oil level like every 1,000 miles 🤔
That was only on 05 and up with the Rev-up engines. However I think it was fixed with the 07 on.
New View Reviews That’s strange how the 2005 refresh got improved longer lasting brakes, but more oil consumption. The 2005 model refresh was improved in most areas at least.
Honestly I think that’s most older Infiniti’s my m45 was always guzzling oil had to check it every week to make sure she didn’t blow
How about the abs module or abs sensor

How can I update my screen on my 2007 G35
I’ve changed the cam sensor and they still won’t come iff
Nice hair sue
- Bank 1 sensor (common)
- Driver side sending unit
- New MAF sensors
- Gas gauge (common)
@@baldpnoy410 do you have the rev up engine? then maybe the piston ring needs to be replaced? maybe the vale stem seals fail?
@@baldpnoy410 are you the first owner? I am checking out a one owner 05 G35 with almost 100k miles. Now I am scared of the issues of piston ring problems because the rev up engine for 05-07. I don't want to spend $6k and then have to replace or rebuild the engine.
Dealerships don’t fix your car for free,,, So if you call them asking about RECALLS ( free repairs) they can simply say NO IT DOESN’T HAVE ANY AND HANG UP 😂
What makes you believe they will be so happy to bring your car in and service for FREE lol
Nothing about the transmission or engine?
Nothing about burning hella oil and the head gaskets going bad smh
"Hopefully" 😂
Camera man need to back up where we can see the exact location

@@carlinleneker-frisch976 I own 2 of em😂😂😂 I love it. Just gotta keep up on the maintenance.
They really are crap. I have an 04 G35x. Nissan's quality was very bad at this time. I feel Carlos Ghosn buried the company for profitability. Even if they are building much better cars now, people who owned Ghosn era nissans will never buy one again.
