true though the story that i heard about how they got to do the song was great. john taylor was a party and ran into one of the producers of the franchise in cubby broccoli and asked him "when are you going to get someone decent to do a theme song?"
A view to a kill by Duran Duran is a masterpiece to listen to. I only wish why I intuitively understood why this song played in my sleeptime dreams when I was around 5 or 6 years old (it is still an enigmatic mystery to me even to this very day multiple years later).
@@mikeysuzefour i heard the Casino Royale -Chris Cornell - You Know My Name song good one, but it is not as impactful & suspenseful yet as a view to a kill theme.
I remember when this song was released in '85 A song featured in and taken from the film of the same name Duran Duran were a fantastic 80s band and even in the 90s They had a hit in '93 with ordinary world 🌎
This is my face Duran Duran song of all time and always will be. It was such a big hit song and movie un 1985. Grace Jones was inforgetable in it and great! A VIEW TO A KILL is still a JAM in 2019!
The last time I saw this video was when I rented it back in 1999 just to check out for memories. The first time I saw it was on a black and white tv I had as a teenager. And my little sister would go bananas over it. Lol.
The first 1:18 has muted audio, probably due to copyright issues with the James Bond theme? And for those that own the DVD of Duran Duran’s “Greatest,” you might already notice that first 1:18 is omitted... thus starting at the part with the van. I wish this full video could be remastered in 4K (or at least HD) with everything intact...
I could live with the muted sound of the movie part (with gritted teeth) but they also omitted the first 8 bars of the song itself, where it’s just the drums playing. That intro is one of my favourite parts of the song, so I don’t know what genius made the decision to leave it out…
Never seen this before, love the final bit but so sorry Simon that you were blown up! :-) P.S just seen your documentary again and my cousin and I loved you and played the wedding album over and over, David died tragically aged 51 but we loved Come Undone which lyrically summed things up amazingly - I'm in tears every time I hear it!
I have just listened to this song on "Duran Duran" radio on iHeart Radio. To me this is the best "James Bond" song, way better than "Quatum of Solace". Very dark, very secretive and seductive. My answer to looking forward to the when being "quarantined" or in "lockdown" is finally lifted and we're able to go outside with no fear of any "global pandemic" whatsoever, honestly 👍😊☺🙏👫⛪💋💓💑💏💗🔥.
God, that John Taylor was gorgeous.
He is still gorgeous...
Always
He's not changed one bit
"Bond, Simon Le Bon."
Then... BOOM ! I love the end so much ! 🤣
The song starts at 1:18 in this video. Without a doubt, an amazing song.
It was always the stereo effect 3:00 that got me hooked, but I could never figure out what it was.
How cool, the first SILENT music video...
the lack of sound led me to troubleshoot lol HOW COOL
That floating camera!!😂😂 80s graphics were gold 🤣
I love Duran Duran STILL,one of the best Bond themes of all
+rande stuart THE best!
Duran had some pretty good tunes
A-Ha's Living Daylights is pretty tasty too
I believe "A View to a Kill" was the last Bond theme to get heavy radio rotation, or so it was in rural Maine.
"The Living Daylights" theme was probably good enough to play on Top 40 radio, but wasn't...what the heck happened?
"Bon... Simon LeBon." Whoever wrote that line into the video was a genius.
Duran Duran are still the best from the eighty's
if only all bond music sounded this good.
true though the story that i heard about how they got to do the song was great. john taylor was a party and ran into one of the producers of the franchise in cubby broccoli and asked him "when are you going to get someone decent to do a theme song?"
This Walkman's got some bangers in there🤣.
Literally
A view to a kill by Duran Duran is a masterpiece to listen to. I only wish why I intuitively understood why this song played in my sleeptime dreams when I was around 5 or 6 years old (it is still an enigmatic mystery to me even to this very day multiple years later).
I agree. I always loved Duran Duran and in particular this song. I was 12 then and my room was full of poster of DURAN Duran!
Hi I recommend a new Bond theme song-the indie rock song: 'The Bond Villain' By Robert Nix
"The ARTS are Always A GOOD Way to HIDE HISTORY!!"
- ST. SKYKNIGHT BOND."
Fun fact, “A View to a Kill” by Duran Duran was the only James Bond song to reach number one on the US Billboard Hot 100!
RIP Roger Moore
Duran Duran music & James Bond film are both great memories in my childhood. I miss 80s
Still one of the best Bond themes ever!

I don't think this will EVER be topped!
I saw this in 1985 and thought then (as now) this was the best movie song ever by Duran Duran. Absolutely a great song and a great movie
The Greatest song of all time
Until Chris Cornell came out with "You Know My Name" from Casino Royale. *wink*
@@mikeysuzefour i heard the Casino Royale -Chris Cornell - You Know My Name song good one, but it is not as impactful & suspenseful yet as a view to a kill theme.

Killer Walkman.
That's just a classic, nasty bass line from Duran Duran!!!! Love it!!!
This is my face Duran Duran song of all time and always will be. It was such a big hit song and movie un 1985. Grace Jones was inforgetable in it and great! A VIEW TO A KILL is still a JAM in 2019!
Strangely enough back then they must have predicted that one day camera will be able to fly on its own.
Hey hey! First use of drones ever!
I was thinking the same thing rofl!
verilyheld 33 years ago man they knew the tech has always existed ,our generations before were programmed for this tech revolution to seem normal
No. Drones have been around since WWII... lol. Marilyn Monroe was discovered working in a drone factory in WWII.
La "cinematografia" importante che non esiste più!

He was indeed
This was on tv last night. Had to watch it. I remember it in the theatres. Grace Jones is so cool in it...

Our small nation does have a lot of talent
The song and music video takes me back to the summer of 1985.Finish elementary school/6th grade and entering Jr.High School was around the corner.
This song reflects the true around the world....
Demasiado tema, tremendo tema.
Fascinante vídeo.

I have the DVD of Duran Duran’s “Greatest" which it does not include Scene of the james bond interaction inside of the Eiffel Tower Unfortunately.

The Durans hit #1 on AT40, 7-13-85. Billboard's #35 song of the '85 survey year.

It was Duran Duran's final hit as the original five-piece. Andy and John Taylor left the group to team with Robert Palmer to form Power Station.
On peut mourir dans nos rêves, mais on ne doit jamais laissés nos rêvent MOURIR.
Eu curti A view to Kill nos anos 80 e continuo cutindo, porque não dá para esquecer essa música tão linda e Fantástica ! 👍📣🎼🎧🎷
Welcome Brazil
visionary drone
When Bond and music were still cool.
Arguably one of bottom of the list for Bond films, one of the best theme songs.
View to a Kill James Bond you're my favorite rock group in the world you made snowboarding possible.
