The best Bond song. Period.
I believe we have John to thank for this: the story goes that he met Barbara Broccoli at a party while tipsy and, being a huge Bond fan, suggested that Duran do the theme song for one of the films. The rest is history!
He approached Albert Broccoli and said "When are you going to get someone decent to do one of your theme songs?". Big words for a guy that will soon fade into obscurity.
@@Szczaqu LOL You're not a bass player, are you? He's hardly faded into obscurity, dude. And considering this is the most successful Bond theme ever, I'd say his "big words" were pretty freaking accurate.
Nice story. I was actually living in Paris at the time this film was released. I am from Bath. I spent a lot of time visiting friends who lived all over Paris and there was the odd moment jumping over the turnstiles in the metro, which kind of added to the excitement and the atmnospherics. Ah, the joys and folly of youth.
@@tappetmanifolds7024 That's pretty cool! I'm still waiting to get there myself: was planning to go last year, and of course that didn't happen. Hopefully I'll make it over next year! 🤞
@@erinfraise6154 Well I'm not, but if you're only known by the bass players, you're certainly obscure.
ONE OF THE BEST BOND THEMES BY FAR
Best
Real music from the 80's will always be relevant in the 21st century
Best song for a movie ever.
This is such a great video .. I can remember when it came out and how I watched it over and over because I had recorded it on VHS tape (along with other DD videos and interviews of course!!). So clever how they integrate the video with the actual movie clips and make it look cohesive. And, that quick, blurry shot of John's grin .. and the tying in of Bon, Simon LeBon .. is just 2 of the many things that make me love this video even today.
The wide eyed look on Simon's face in the very end when his device was blowing up the Eiffel tower cracks me up every time.
I remember watching this video on MTV in the 80s and thinking how clever and cutting edge
it was when Simon said "Bon. Simon Le Bon" at the end.
Love Duran Duran!!!!
Here after listening to an excellent analysis. No vember 1st,2023. Yes,it's still a Bond classic!
Hello; how are you doing? It’s nice meeting you here. Thanks for your love and support❤🌺You have yourself a wonderful day ahead🌺🌺🎶🎶🎵
His voice is so unique.
Best bond theme ever and the most successful, brilliant tune
Can't choose. Live and let Die or this. Ok
live and let die it is. 😋😋😋
Goldfinger will always have my heart but this... it’s special
live and let die is pretty good
The living daylights by aha and license to kill by Gladys knight are also good but a view to a kill by Duran Duran is a brilliant theme tune

In my opinion, this is the best of the Bond theme songs.
Los vi en n vivo, las majores experience de mi Vida, desde Honduras son los más grandes!
The movie "A View To A Kill" turns 35 today!
Coincidentally, I streamed it on the night of 22nd May without even knowing that it was released that day!
IMO Sir Roger Moore bowed out well with this in spite of the high criticism this movie received.
Roger Moore's last indeed. I watched it in the cinema with my mum. The ruthless way Zorin and his right hand man killed all their workers taught me that I shouldn't trust unquestioningly the motives of any organisation that's employing me.
Thanks for reminding me how old I am fam
I have the movie on DVD and it includes DD's "A View To A Kill" music video🤗👍💗
@@rjjcms1 Roger Moore was a really great James Bond👍
One of my favourite bond films and themes. Classic video - the band merged with scenes from the movies. This was what the 80’s was all about!
One of my other favs is The Living Daylights-A-ha!
@@mikekaraoke Good choice. Dalton is the greatest.
80s videos were wild
I don't care that I'm older now, at least I experienced the 80s 😍🎶 wouldn't change it for anything!!!

Co-writing with John Barry helped. It's a very good song for sure.
This is one of the best 80's songs, with an amazing video clip!
The best Bond song ever!
From this to old rock to electronic music, the Brits are the best!

One of the best Bond songs in a less than good Bond film.
It's super-fun, though! Kind of like the 80s in general :))
