I still have my original from launch and it works just fine. Even the controller works perfectly. So many hours of gaming and the thing has never given me any trouble. The PS1 and N64 are the most resilient consoles of all time.
You never had the laser sled issue? Every first wave PS1 I have ever encountered had to be played with the console upside down in order to read the disc. I find it very difficult to believe that a PS from 94-95 still works with zero issue, as they were terribly made and 99.9% of them had issues even several years later. By 1998 my friends and I couldn't get our to work unless they were upsidedown.

If it's from a junkyard I understand why it is covered in this dirt, I worked at one and I can tell you absolutely nothing can stay clean there more than 1 minute. Very nice restoration, good job.
Because this is how those videos work. "Oh look I *"found"* this thing right here, oh it's so *dirrrrty* but mostly just from the outside as if someone just slapped some dirt on it to make it look rugged, lemme *"restore"* it. Now this actually looks gross in a realistic way but I'm very certain that if he ran into any technical issues, he would've thrown it away and simply not upload the video.
Oh santa casualidad.... Que recubrimiento con cemento tan conveniente y casual para hacer el vídeo y sobre todo fácil de quitar. Claro, es que antes pavimentábamos las calles con PS1.
@@resEG too bad the test at the end was faked. perhaps you could mention that at any time? maybe do a small explanation if any parts were replaced/actually repaired? I believe the shell might have been in good shape, but no way that board was the same, the disk reader port was ripped off the board when you removed it! You'd be doing us a disservice if you keep pretending like everything is the same in the console. maybe show us how to actually repair it and how to find swappable parts, like the controller port, or the disk drive. How does someone solder on that port that was ripped off the board - you know? I like the "restoration" genre of videos, but don't swindle us, man.
For the corroded metal parts, it would have been a good idea, to use chemical rust to iron conversion solution. To stop the process. You can already see, on the both controller ports up on top, that the corroding going on. And this gunk may have been looked like cement, but in this case you would have unable to wash it off just with water (which has turned mostly brown - a sign, that this was a thick layer of sand and soil, imo). Beside of that: Nice work! Unpayable, in the meaning of work to cost of work.
How can people not see that these videos are fake? There is no physical way a playstation can get caked up like that as it would had to have had water and mud all around it, which then would have gave the whole system MASSIVE water damage, which you would have seen inside the PS1 yet there was none. You can also see the piss poor job on the painting of "dirt and rust" I'm really glad I watched this with adblock

That's awesome and what makes it even better is the fact that it is the better, imo, model because of the access port on the back. I had both models, one with the port and one after they removed the port, or removed the cover that allowed access to the port. I could make any cheat code for pretty much any game. It was fairly simple once you figured out how that particular game shark worked other than the typical code book insert code method. My bad, reliving those nostalgic memories and started rambling on lol.

I'm highly suspicious that the one we see running is exactly the one he repaired. There was still corrosion on all the ports and daughter boards. Plus the disc reader goes out on non junkyard finds let alone one like this.
Im a little bit in doubt too. It's awesome no doubt. But would the console run so flawless, after a cleanup. I didnt see him fix any of the really importen stuff. Honestly this is a random video I saw in my recommended but I'm glad I saw it. This was a pretty cool video, I haven't seen a ps1 in a over a decade. Keep up the good work 🙂
Why do I have the feeling this video deserves a prize for restoration skills, but also for archeology skills? It felt like he was digging up a dinosaur bone lol.
The screws must have never been removed, thus kept very safe in that tight space from the elements over the years. The cement is very thick and is not fluid enough to go deep down to coat the screws.
WHO HURT THIS POOR MACHINE!?!?! Someone tossed it in the mud and decided to let nature reclaim it. That is messed up and I am so glad you saved it and brought it back!
I find it hard to believe that the lens on that PS1 can still read games with no issue. My lens on my PS1 did not face the horror that this PlayStation did but it failed on me many of times lol
Wow I just can't believe any1 would willingly be polluting or damaging their consoles like that. My past consoles were dirty abit on the outside. Insides were clean
The old stuff were made to last but they were also more expensive if you consider inflation. We actually work less hours nowadays to buy the same stuff because most companies reduced the quality of their products to produce more units of the same thing, but of course it impacts durability. It's kinda bad because things don't last as before but that's how people who couldn't afford stuff in the past get to buy it nowadays. thanks for watching❤️

Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.
John 1:1,14 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us,
1 John 3:8 KJV
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Isaiah 9:6 KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
John 1:10 KJV
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT.
yea the filth is fake no1 does bury ps into dirth
Whatever I Just Watched was Extremely Impressive to say the least as i never wouldve imagined that could be restored not only visually but the fact it works is crazy if in fact it was all factory parts you cleaned up and it was the same Playstation you showed us at the start then yea absolutely Fantastic and quite unbelievable
It's not the same ps1 that gets turned on the restored one wouldn't work since all of the components on the board were fried and he used all the same parts alcohol does fix broken chips or burn marks
😳🤔Ok if it had cement damage wouldn't it also have had water damage how did you fix that without replacing any chips transistors or capacitors?????😳🤔
WELL... YOU KNOW HOW...LOL
Buy purchasing another console on eBay that works 😂
As someone who has an original Sega in working condition and still plays it. I don't understand how anyones machine could get this bad..... How?? My machines are taken care of. Some are older than I am.. and I'm definitely older than a play station. Lol
That’s crazy! Well done 👏 appreciate people taking time to give these old consoles more life and get them back to almost new!!
I used to watch a bunch of these restoration videos 2 years ago during quarantine late at night 🤣
Boy boy boy boy you are
I can picture of that saying

Honestly this is a random video I saw in my recommended but I'm glad I saw it. This was a pretty cool video, I haven't seen a ps1 in a over a decade. Keep up the good work 🙂

I was going to say, I still have my PS1, and it didn't "fossilize". Glad to know 1997 isn't treated like 1897.
Let's all be honest. None of us searched this, but we all enjoyed it 😀
Thanks a lot for the comment and kind words! Glad to help! 🙏
Excellent job! May I suggest a Dremel tool with a brass brush and a different size phillips but to avoid damaging the screws.
Why do I have the feeling this video deserves a prize for restoration skills, but also for archeology skills? It felt like he was digging up a dinosaur bone lol.
thanks for watching ❤️
Homie RAW DOGGING this PS1 with his bare ass hands, mad respect and please never touch me lol

When he said vintage for a ps1 I felt so old 🥲😟😭 I’m 23 I played that as a child now it’s vintage
It's crazy how new them screws look under all that cement
The screws must have never been removed, thus kept very safe in that tight space from the elements over the years. The cement is very thick and is not fluid enough to go deep down to coat the screws.

I find it hard to believe that the lens on that PS1 can still read games with no issue. My lens on my PS1 did not face the horror that this PlayStation did but it failed on me many of times lol
I can’t image what that PlayStation has seen. I still have my dads from the original drop. And it works like a charm

I don't know why I was surprised that it still works, technology back then was way more resilient for some reason.
Ah yes the famous PS1 salvaged from the wreck of the Titanic
yeah never understood why some of these channels do this, cover it in mud and shit and pretend that's how it came in to there possession.

@@echoheretic91 that’s exactly what I just commented talking shit about. I swear they glue some shit on it before the video starts. There’s just no way it just looks like this maybe dusty but there’s just no way
@@echoheretic91 still fun to watch. Also I don’t think he’s faking it considering the rust, dust/dirt with the screws etc.

Fake Video

I had a ps1 as a kid but the only game I had memories of playing on it was Crash 3. I did play a lot of PS2 and I miss both of those consoles so much. The PS1 stopped working due to age and the PS2 got smashed by my mother due to her huge dislike for video games. Thankfully I have my own consoles now and take care of them very well. Still good times back then. I miss those days!! 🎮
