never usually comment on videos. But that was really great. You showed lots of restoration methods I have never seen before on RUclips. The plastic restoration and trace repair is top notch 👍
I don't comment much on vids, but this one needed commentary. The videography is exceptional, no talking, no music just 20 minutes of unadulterated repairs exhibiting skills in engineering, plastics composition and electronic repair. Personally I think you are absolutely, undoubtedly insane for the amount of time that you spent on a SEGA... but you are a master of your craft, an insane master but a master none the less. Amazing vid, thanks for the quiet ride along and happy retro gaming my good sir.
As something of an old electronics repairer myself, I'm always impressed when people go ahead and do trace repairs like that. And the citric acid and oil treatment was a new one for me, I'm gonna remember that. What a great job you did. Your attention to detail is awesome and it makes these vids really satisfying.
This is probably one of more in depth restorations of retro hardware I've come across on this platform. What many deem impossible, you made it seem easy. Awesome work. I love this.
A quantidade de conhecimento em eletrônica, computação, impressão 3D, sem falar das técnicas de restauração detalhadas.... é de cair o queixo. Os reforços nas conexões dos controles... Simplesmente maravilhoso. Dá gosto de assistir seus vídeos. Desejo muito sucesso!
Thank you very much, you are exaggerating )) But still, thank you for the nice words. I am glad that you liked my videos. More content will be coming soon.
I'm a fan of videogame consoles restoration videos....I've seen plenty of those videos overtime, but yours is definitely a whole new level.... Congrats sir!!
Thank you very much. Finally some one that can Restore a game console. Instead of taking it apart and clean it and put it back together. It looks amazing and you have a real talent keep up the great work..
This is my new favorite restoration video. Makes me wish you had a store i can send my original Sega Genisis and Original Nintendo to get restored. Both work last time i checked. I enjoyed how detailed you are.
Thank. I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately, I can't quickly and extensively restore retro equipment now, this is not my main activity. But I already have a lot of my personal patients in the queue for restoration )
Mate, everyone said i had OCD my attentional to detail. You have proven to me that there are individuals who take pride and perfection to levels even i am yet to achieve. Thoroughly entertainly video and loved every ingenious ideas of using "home" remedy solutions like the citric acid trick to restore the blacks. Far too many vids restore to just plain chemicals but you kept it entertaining from beginning to end. Have subscribed to your channel as you have a new fan in me. Much love from Australia. ❤
Thank you very much for the kind words and support! 😊 It's great that people with increased attention to detail rate my videos positively, it's doubly nice Welcome to the channel, and much love back to Australia!
The algorithm suggested this to me, after watching the array of restoration techniques used I was hooked. I've now subscribed and will be watching all your videos.
This insane ! You really love and take care about this tiny clone. You get 676 followers for 859 likes crazy. I follow you, your working is incredible.
Thank you), believe me you can do it too, it's not difficult. The only difficulty is to force yourself to start)) The tools will gradually be collected in the process)
Заметил в рекомендациях, отличное видео (как и другие на канале)! Надеюсь, что алгоритмы будут благосклонны к каналу, ведь качество контента явно того заслуживает!
Your work is impressive!! So much care and discipline! Even a new label, you made this amazing! we are in front of a true master craftsman. You gained a subscriber. By the way, I have a 2017 mega drive with an SD card slot. It is in excellent condition! Take care!!
Thank you very much for your kind words. I am glad that you liked it. I do not have a new Sega MD console, but I want to buy a flash cartridge with a memory card.
I agree, I'm doing two things at the same time now, videos about restoration and collecting retro electronics). I also have an original Japanese SMD2. The game console of my childhood)
I love it when people restore old technology. I'm particularly happy about Sega consoles, but especially Nintendo, because they don't like that at all because they can't market old games on the new consoles. But the Megadrive shows how robustly they were built back then. Try it today.
Thanks for the support! I totally agree, it would take a lot of work to damage a SEGA MD. They were built to last, unlike many modern devices. As for Nintendo, it's a shame they don't support the retro gaming community. But that just makes restoring their consoles even more worthwhile! ))
I completely agree with you, it was necessary to do this. But I understood that this "clone" did not have a gold inscription initially. Maybe they were too lazy to do it in China. Let the replica be a replica, after all, it is not the original Japanese version. But if I were to make this console again now, I would make the "16 bit" inscription gold
Holy mother of god! 😂 Brilliant! I'm speechless and looking forward to more videos from you! In the next weeks, I'm going to repair a very old Fluke 47 meter with some ruined traces (yep, leaky caps as always) and will definitely use some of your techniques! :) Lovely regards from Germany! 😍
Good job for restoring Sega Sammy-owned Sega's popular console. I know Genesis is the name for Mega Drive in the USA and Canada. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
I completely agree. You are not the first to write this to me. For some reason I thought that since this is not an original console, I will not paint "16bit" gold. But it had to be done )
Around 1994, this is manufactured by an OEM company at Hong Kong. I was a junior engineer there. All key parts and IC was consigned from Japan. They do all PCBA assembling, and mechanical plastic parts. I'm not handling this product. (I'm in ODM team which doing audio products Design) ................Remember, travel from HK office to manufacturing site at SZ take 1.5 hours !
Thank you very much, this is extremely valuable information for me. I’ve been trying to trace the origins of this console-where, how, by whom, and when it was made. However, I couldn’t find any information. So it turns out that the Japanese themselves supplied clones of chips like the SEGA 315-5313 (TA-06) for the assembly of so-called "SEGA MD clones." If it’s not a secret, what kind of audio products have you worked on?
I worked for a HK OEM company called WKKI (still in operation today) around 94-95.......I work on audio design team which doing mini HiFi ODM for Yamaha, the team next to us doing SEGA consigned OEM products.....
You're observant! Yes, agree, that was my mistake. I was exhausted and missed it. Of course, I fixed it later, but that’s how it ended up in the video )

Yes that trace repair takes serious skill and patience, no way I could do that.

Of course I know who "mymechanics" is. You compared me to such a big WHALE, that's really cool. Thank you, I'm glad you wrote a comment )
