- Hi, welcome to the channel. I found this PS1 on eBay. It was very dirty and the case was very old and yellowed. So, I decided to do a custom / special paint job inspired in Gran Turismo game. I used an automotive paint, after that did the paint correction to smooth the painted surface... This is a custom console with a modded window with carbon fiber wrap on the buttons. Yeah, that looks amazing, like an official limited PS1 GT-Edition.
I am more impressed that the paint job didn't just include the outside but the metal plating inside that no one will actually see now it just needs a custom controller to go with it.

I've tried custom painting a dreamcast controller and it doesn't work, when holding it your hand sticks alot more and it doesn't feel right compared to just bare plastic
I still have my old ps1 flat working perfectly, but this project is really awesome! Incredible customization, looks like a special edition.

That is a beautiful console! The layered button vinyls was a great idea to protrude out of the carbon fiber.
Side note: I've never seen a PSX disassembly; looks rather delicate inside. I fixed up a PS2 Fat and it seemed more robust

Nice touch on a Gran Turismo look I like the clear door when you can see the disc and making it look like carbon fiber on certain parts nice
As a tool guy in both maintenance work and building my Warhammer 40K and Privateer Press models. There is something so satisfying as watching the correct sized Phillips Head screw driver being used properly. Sounds weird I know. But it is very nice to see.
The first time I saw a thumbnail, I thought it was one of those limited editions that I've never even heard about it. Cool work man.

In this time of pandemic I keep imagining a custom Plastation One with the theme of the game Syphofilter with this same transparent cover but with a symbol of biological danger, the whole structure of green, the buttons with symbols of espionage and some hazard stickers on the device

@@princegroove Guy if his opinion were constructive would be worth it but if it is something empty is worth nothing, Syphonfilter is the best spy game of the playstation one generation a fantastic story that involves a biological weapon that threatens the world a virus and that much can seem unfortunately like the sad situation in which the planet passes today in view that several influential people , experts, governments, and even Ex-members of secret services say in public that the virus may have come from a Chinese laboratory, and regarding a customization of the Playstation One platform for whatever the theme game the Find & Restore channel itself found interesting the idea of a customized console with the game, because with pandemic or without pandemic the game Syphonfilter has admirers and is an icon in the history of games.

That belongs in a museum, excellent work. I personally have a NES and a N64 as antiques i had a ps1 but i trashed it, gaming is cool though its time to build the future of consoles now instead of wait for something else. And i restore old stuff too some of its on my channel.

Ok i just checked it out and put a bid on it. Still a good looking system but that first systems paint job was mint man and in my opinion looks the best. Makes it look like a real limited edition console. But great idea and job on them both man. I give ya a sub and like too.

I think the buttons were my favorite detail.
That was one of the best mods I have seen!!!! Not the most complex, but the MOST stylish so far. My 3 fave games on the PS1 were Gran Turismo, FF7 and Resident Evil. I would Die for a Resident Evil themed mod.

Mine was always been the lens issue, Whenever I start a game I always pray the white with gold diamond screen would transition to the Playstation logo, and go in the memory card management

Hi, thanks for your comment. I did it intentionally, but since the logo is painted on the plexiglass, and the piece is easy to remove, we are able to place it in a straight way as well. 👍🏻
