Glad tech support was able to get you an answer. Plumber can't read instructions or figure out to maybe just mount the equipment at a serviceable height. When in doubt pull the instructions out.
Probably was also the first tankless water heater the original company installed too.

Those things are too complicated...a water heater with a draft inducer and variable gas flow!
Never installed the condensation pipe at all whoever installed it but unit is undersized and working all the time when it’s on

What if it throws a code 12 in the middle of taking a shower every time you take a shower
We have the same issue- in TN. have you found any answers? We just built a house 1 year ago- brand new unit.

Did you ever figure out the problem? I have found if I turn on two sinks them I have hot water.
@@davekerr9479 if that's the case you have a insufficient water flow issue in my experience because it's being resolved by additional water flow ... First solution I would go to is check if you have low flow fixture in your shower as this will result in insufficient water flow one way you can check this is by taking the shower head off and just letting it flow right out of the pipe on the wall and if this does not result in fluctuation in water temperature then this could be the problem another very common issue is that the turbine which senses water flow is either getting jammed due to the screen in front of it being clogged and or itself having a problem have you had the unit descalled recently?so you may need to have the dip switches thrown for a lower flow unit if they're available on this model or you could have a different motherboard or chip if you will from manufacturer provided to you to resolve this .

Thanks for the response, it’s so weird during the warm weather it works fine but when it gets really cold outside (for Arizona,..30’s overnight) then I get the error. It getting cold now so I will see if the error starts occurring again.

@@jwgmail For anyone reading this in 2024, try lowering the temp. Mine only goes down to 98 degrees but it lasts long enough for a quick clean. It's worth a shot for anyone desperate.
Ours exactly same model only lasted 5 years and stopped cooling all of a sudden kenmore appliances are just expensive crap
Never again!!!!! Get one if you enjoy complicating your life! I’ll spend the whopping $25 extra in energy costs to run a NORMAL tank dead reliable hot water heater. I have wasted my time and money on several different makes and models and they all suck!!! I especially love it when the electricity goes out mid shower and the water immediately goes cold, my wife loved that one! If your going to torture yourself with one of these miserable units at least go for the standing pilot unit. I have both and at least those don’t leave you in the cold. Unfortunately I designed my hot water heater cabinet for these darn things so in order to go back to a reliable tank heater it’s a lot of work. Hopefully this reaches someone who’s on the fence about purchasing a tankless and it pushes them to go with a tank water heater.
Man..... Do NOT BUY A TANKLESS water heater. Yes, you, go get a regular water heater.
