I was taught that you should only cut your fabric using the ruler measurements, not the mat grid lines as these are not accurate. Therefore it doesn’t matter which mat you have as it’s only a cutting surface.
I use sticky tape loops, sticky side out or squares of double stick tape. Much cheaper, removable and replaceable. Do odd threads stick to your ruler once you spray?
No, it’s not sticky per se….it’s more almost rubbery after it dries. It just won’t slide around on fabric anymore, but stuff doesn’t actually stick to it
