I’m not diabetic but I’m trying to lose weight and I am wanting to eat like I am. I’ve been borderline diabetic but I’m wanting to learn how to eat delicious foods but isn’t going to hurt me. What a delicious recipe for pumpkin pie this holiday. I’m now following you so I can’t get more recipes. Thank you

New Subbie! Ty trying this for Thanksgiving but we don’t use alcohol in our baking so hope to find suitable alternatives. Can’t wait to see more on your channel.

Great recipe. I like all the ingredients. I’m definitely making this this weekend as a trial run. Heading to Whole Foods to check on Swerve Sugar Sub and the one flour. I have Almond flour. Do you have other dessert recipes? Thank you!

Is there any substitute for carbalose Flour?

    • @DiabeticSavvywithDavisKnight

There is. Almond, Pecan and other nut flours will work with some adjustments to the recipe. You can make a crust with these flours that will be similar to a graham cracker crust. Blending nut flours with butter and a little Xanthan gum for a binder will work great.

Will the the vodka bake off so you don't have any affects from it?

Great question. And YES! It cooks off with no affects. Thanks for the question, you rock!

The conventional wisdom accepted by just about everyone in the food world is that all the alcohol you add to a dish evaporates or dissipates during cooking. It is wrong.

I wonder how this would be with fat free greek yogurt diluted a bit with skim milk instead of evaporated milk. I think I'll try that with my homemade yogurt to control the tartness and carb count.

Can I follow those ingredients but instead of pumpkin use sweet potatoes.. pumpkin has a GI of 75 on its own..
