10,028 rounds i fired through my sig sauer m18. Through out my 10k rounds nothing ever broke no parts whatsoever. I had 1 single malfunction which was a stovepipe using L.A.H.A.B ammo. My m18 is nothing short of being accurate and very reliable. I feel so happy reaching 10k rounds and satisfied knowing i can depend on my weapon anytime i need to use it.
I own the regular P320 in full and compact size, both in 9mm. I paid under $500 for each and have not had any malfunctions and the accuracy for both have performed great for me. Great review bro!
I reached 766 rounds of 115 grain fmj through my Sig Sauer M18 and I am proud to say I have not experienced any malfunctions of any kind. What a wonderful handgun I am so happy with my purchase. I am going for 1000 rounds next then I'll give My honest option.
Would you recommend it? I’ve been thinking about picking one up but I’ve been hearing a lot of discouraging things such as it firing it on its own :/ idk if people were referring to the m17 but yeah.
@@703jhp I bought my m18 despite of all the Sig hating reviews. I got it January 11th this year, I have fired 1626 rounds with no malfunctions of any kind. Its a soft shooting, accurate, reliable and beautiful pistol. I highly recommend it I am just a normal guy that got his ccl I pay to shoot and I love my M18. Can't wait for 2022 when the range opens again. Hope me reply was helpful
4000 rounds woo-hoo to be exact 4012 rounds through my Sig Sauer M18 with no malfunctions of any kind. Now I can truly say after 19 Months that I am truly satisfied with purchasing this weapon. My Romeo 1 pro has bin installed after the first 3 rounds and now 4009 rounds later has also had not malfunctiond whatsoever. A Mix of 115, 124 and 147 grain 9mm ammo from Winchester, Magtec, Maxtec, Fiocchi, Blazzer brass and Wolf ammo. Sold solid platform and yes ill be pushing for 5000 rounds then ill make my final comment on My Sig m18. God bless and see you then.
I still have them sadly. They suck because they are as wide as the frame and that unnecessary extra width blocks your vision a bit. Not great sights other than they are very beefy and tough.
Becuase of the scarcity and price of 9mm its bin a slow journey. Today I officially reached 1514 rounds through my Sig M18 with no malfunctions or breakage of any kind. Such a wonderful firearm 100% reliable, very accurate, very low recoiling, beautiful trigger and a beautiful handgun. What more can u want. Well done Sig
I have some Sigs and I have some Glocks. Sig fanboys are no different than Glock fanboys. I feel sorry for the lot. I feel sorry for any fanboy really, why limit oneself with all the wonderful selections.
I've been called a fanboy many times. A Glock fanboy, an HK fanboy, a CZ fanboy, a S&W fanboy, a Beretta fanboy, a Springfield fanboy, a Walther fanboy, a Sig fanboy, a 1911 fanboy, a revolver fanboy, a Taurus fanboy, a Ruger fanboy, and yes....even a Hi-Point fanboy. I guess being a fanboy has limited me to only one brand :)
As promised I reached 2036 rounds through my Sig Sauer M18. So far I have not experienced any malfunctions or failures of any kind. I have shot both 115 and 124 grain in Winchester, Magtec, Maxxtech, Remington, Blazer Brass and Fiocchi all have ran flawlessly. Not even i hiccup of any kind. Ultra reliable, deadly accurate, low recoil, easy to shoot and such a beautiful pistol. Looking forward to reaching 3000 in my M18. Ill drop another comment then. Take care and god bless.
Unfortunately mine has been a piece of crap and has been sent back to SIG twice for broken striker assist springs and I didn't even have 200 rounds through it. It is also the least accurate handgun I own.
@@icallmy12gnot12 I sent it back twice. I think I just got a lemon. Other people have them and a very happy with them. It is still the least accurate gun I own. I would get rid of it but I don't want to put it off on someone who might count on it to save their life. I could not be happier with my P226 with a Romeo red dot on it! I think I just got the one in a million lemons. It happens.
@@DragonSlayer-tg5mk wow. Have they not considered giving you a new one altogether? Sending it back twice is already too many times. Will you send it in a third time due to its lacking capabilities in accuracy?
@@MrHav1k He hated the sights, and that caused him to hate the gun. A preference issue caused him to be biased against the gun. He didn't list a single issue that isn't also valid for every single pistol on the market. In all honesty though, if he's also being nitpicky about all the other guns he tests, then then it's an even playing field.
My wife just took my G19, so I’ve been running my P320 Tacops more than usual. We ran them side by side the past few weeks at the range, and I was a bit surprised that I actually prefer the Sig over my Glocks, and I felt the recoil was a bit smoother than my G19. Three 21 rd mags is pretty nice, too.
I shot a rental Carry size P320 9mm in Nov 2019. It worked ok but nothing made me super impressed. 🤔. I'd go with a Glock 45 MOS or a M&P 2.0 for now, summer 2020.
@@DavidLLambertmobile modularity was why I picked the m17. The interchangeably between 9mm- 357 sig was a key for me. Shoot 9 at the range, then when panic buyer's empty the 9mm, 40, 45. 357 Sig will still be available. Another reason my AR eats the .450 BM.
The only people who prefer glocks to other guns like this, m&p, masada, hk, cz, ruger... either never shot anything else or are just too far in denial to admit glocks kinda suck.
Love the review. So glad that you got your channel back. Your evaluations have a big part in my deciding, whether or not, to buy a certain gun. You haven't led me astray, yet.
5015 rounds though my Sig Sauer M18 with no malfunctions of any kind. Ladies and gentlemen this pistol has bin nothing but reliable, accurate, low recoil and just a joy to shoot. Hats off to you Sig u made a awesome pistol with endless possibilities. I will keep on shooting maybe when I reach 10,000 rounds I'll write another comment.
Army did a lot acceptance test firing 3 of these with each 12,000 rounds without malfunctions. It is comedy seeing the hate on here because the gun isn't stamped Glock or S&W.
That’s why I had to stop watching Scootch00 - who strikes me as probably a super nice guy who darn near reads the bullet points off of a gun’s press release - every Gun is great and never goes into why he came to that conclusion other than reading a script. The Honest Outlaw obviously practices a lot and is able to easily sort out the pluses and minuses of a Gun without having to mince words.
I've always been a fan of military arms. I just got a M18 from my local dealer today. Shoots great. Owned several P320 over the years and never had any issues with them. This one will stick around in the collection for sure.
Kratos_God_of_50_BMG Does it fall off the night stand all by itself and shoot everything in the house in the middle of the night? Ive heard some rumors.
What is hard to understand? They get the ammo sent to them for free because the ammo crisis is just an industry lie to force inflated prices on millions of new gun owners. Free ammo is just one of the benefits of being an industry shill.
My understanding is that Sig is putting stronger recoil springs in the M17 and M18 than in the commercial P320 because the Army was intending to single source ALL their 9mm for the foreseeable future with a not soft load from Winchester. A stiffer recoil spring will lead to malfunctions in softer loads but will make the hotter ones less snappy.
Gary Just Gary why not increase efficiency when your job is to *checks notes* kill people. Seems dumb to limit your effectiveness because of some antiquated idea of “being a man.”
Oh, if you hate cleaning guns, you'll LOVE the removable chassis on the 320 series. You don't need a parts cleaner (sexy though), just a small Tupperware bowl and a non-toxic solvent. Holy shit is life good cleaning this thing.
Ive been tinkering around with the modularity of my P320 for a few years now and Iv'e come to realize that there are only two configurations that pretty much cover everything needed in a handgun. The simplest and cheapest thing you can do is to buy either the compact or the carry model (both models come with the 3.9" barrel & compact slide) then buy a sub-compact grip module and a couple 12rd magazines. Dont bother with the sub-compact exchange kit, all you need is the grip module. And that is all you'll ever need from the P320. With the compact or carry version you have a service/duty pistol and when you want, just swap the slide and FCU onto the sub-compact grip and your P320 is now ready for concealed carry. The compact slide works just fine on the sub-compact grip.
My wife was overwhelmed at the gun store..too many selections for a 1st time buyer..this p320 in coyote pvd called to her from across the room and the rest is history 😅.. very happy with the purchase..holosun sc sight is in the mail ..i think this is an excellent starter gun for us and will be the baseline for others in the future..thanks for the honest review. Good stuff 👍👍
The distances some these guys like the Honest Outlaw shoots at and have consistent hits with a pistol floors me. I couldn't even see those targets from those distances.
I like the Sig but the M&P 2.0 full size 9mm won me over. I feel I got more gun for the money plus I really love the grip texture. My only gripe, 9mm ammo is expensive now and it's sold out quickly.
At least 9mm can found. 45 acp is out of stock at online distributors within an hour of them getting a shipment. Not to mention 9mm now costs what 45 used to and 45 costs more than 357 mag now
I bought an entire reloading setup and 1000rds of ammo components for the money I saved not buying factory ammo for the last few months. Now I’m back at the range, paying half the price I used to pay for 9mm BEFORE the shortage
Totally agree with you regarding the sights. I don’t have the M18, but I do own the M17 surplus. Another issue for me with the sights is that in the dark I have problems acquiring the orange rear sight. I installed the Wilson Combat grip module and it feels amazing. Thanks for the video!
Very good review! Great to see you back! You mentioned the Fiocchi. My brother recently had a few hundred .40 Fiocchi that cause all kinds of mal feeds with his weapon (M&P) and then had some 9mm (used on my G17) that had issues too. Looking at the rounds we found that the bullets were pressed way too far into the case and actually there was kind of a 'lip/bulge' at there the brass meets the bullet. Spent the next couple weeks getting rid of about 1k worth of Fiocchi.
As promised I fired another 1000 rounds through my Sig Sauer M18 reaching a total of 3024 rounds. It. My Sig M18 has bin nothing but absolutely reliable, accurate and a ease to shoot. This weapon is legit ladies and gentlemen and I am looking forward to shooting another 1000 rounds again. Such a beautiful pistol I have no regrets 3024 rounds later.
Have loved my M18. Just got an RMR on it which I'm excited to try because I was just able to naturally shoot this extremely accurately. Feel safe carrying it.
@@MrBaseballplayer25 the stock irons can't cowitness because you do have to use an adapter. The adapter I use is compatible with glock irons for cowitnessing. As for how high it sits your have to be the judge I don't use pistol optics often. I would say to me it doesn't look like it sits much higher if any than other pistol optics I've seen. But again I haven't compared them
You have shown that an experienced and skillful shooter can work with just about any gun. Much of the look and feel stuff is uniquely personal, which is part of the fun of all of this. 3 or 4 failures in the first 1K rounds is more ammo than platform related in my opinion. I do have a fondness for SIGS and still enjoy the old 220 and 229. Have a .357 SIG barrel for that last one.
Almost went with a 320 but due to its previous problems with drop safety and some personal preference I ended up going with the gen 5 mos. Couldn't be happier. Threw a tlr7a and holosun 507 with a c&h plate on it and called it good
I traded my M18 in for a G19.5 MOS. Even though I already had a couple G19.5’s! I tried so hard to love the M18, but it hurt my hand to fire, and I just couldn’t get acceptable speed or accuracy out if it.
Yeah the p10c's are definitely nice. My buddy has one and I shot it a few times ahead of buying mine. Great gun and i like the ergonomics of it. I never owned a glock so I figured I'd see what all the hype is all about. The grip angle took a few presentations to get used to but I love this thing. Trigger is way better than my fns9c.
I was a little nervous about my P320 in terms of safety after the latest lawsuit. I went to town on mine with a rubber mallet from many different angles and could not for the life of me get it to fire without a trigger pull. That reassured me but I still don’t think I’d be carrying appendix.
Many RUclips videos have shown the same thing. People blaming guns for their own personal mistakes. Guns don’t fire by themselves like many are saying with the 320
@@889976889 I dunno. I feel the P320's safety is fairly sketchy... since there's been recent reports that SIG Sauer “issued a press release stating that the P320 could fire without a trigger pull under certain conditions, including vibration, but “reaffirmed” the safety of the P320 to all end users.”
To start with it had to be dropped from at least a certain height , on a certain angle on a certain spot and maybe it could go off , what ever the issue was/could a been has long been fixed so i think your junk would be safe if you should appendix carry .... which i would never do with any gun but thats just me
so strange, i have a standard p320 and have put 5000 rounds through it with zero malfunctions so weird. well today bought a p226 legion so excited to try it out
got my m17 today and ran 400 rds!!! ran flawlessly with fmj and hollow points ranging from 115 jhp, 124 jhp, 135jhp, and a box if underwood 147gr +p hardcast and ran all sizes both regular and +p!!! fed everything, and surprisingly, maybe even shockingly didn't notice any shift in poi vs poa even with the different bullet weights and velocities!!!
@@TheJBerg Still seems like there's a huge problem with the recent lawsuit... Apparently even the "fix" isn't fixing the problem. P320's even going off while in holsters and not dropped.
Really like your approach to your videos. You always approach your reviews as "this doesn't work for me but may work for you approach" and always give the rundown on why. I bought a P365 gen 3 after reviewing your videos on it an you gave the good and the bad and I chose it based on the good and love the gun. Keep the vids coming and you do a great job.
Except for drop safe (which has been fixed), it seems to me the majority of his listed negatives were because of his personal bias and can be eliminated with training or customization. What he did was buy the gun then go to a range for 1 day and fire 1000 rounds. He didn't practice with it for months or years. What I think would be an absolutely amazing review would be if he customized the gun to his liking, trained with it for some time, THEN give a review after that. Any new gun you pick up and shoot isn't going to feel perfect because you're used to your other guns. Also, if you don't like the sights, put a red dot on it. Studies have shown red dot sights to be faster and more accurate (on average) than standard sights anyway. My personal review after owning one and training with it: for me it's a great handgun for home defense with a Romeo1pro red dot and TLR-2 flashlight. (Blackhawk makes a holster that fits this configuration). The M-18 does everything I want a home defense hand gun to do and I've never had a malfunction. All of its features or characteristics, grip, safety, trigger, recoil, etc., are within preferential limits to me. However, the M18 is not my goto concealed carry gun. It's slightly too big and heavy for me to conceal comfortably. But I still do carry the M-18 in a visible OWB holster (hip) any time I'm out with my wife and daughter. When I'm by myself I conceal carry a Shield 9 (IWB appendix).
Well over 1500 rounds in my m18 with not a single malfunction or problem of any kind. The square lobes on the rear sight did take some getting familiar with but that's from using so many different guns like you said. Now when not in a pocket gun situation I have my M18 with me at all times.
Zero issues so far out of my m18. Probably 800rds with several different brands of ammo. I have a 507c mounted on top. I love shooting it. Trigger take up is a little much and has a little crunchy feel at the wall. The safety is a little to stiff.. it's not perfect but for the price its good buy. Drop safety was an old issue.
No one's talking about the drop safety issue anymore, that was so 2017. It's 2020, the "firing-while-in-holster issue" now is all the rage for the P320's.
@@anonypersona3189 you probably didn't watch the entire video or just feeling the need for attention, because outlaw specifically called out the drop safety issue.
@@IamShrimple you a glock fanboy? For price point it's good value. Safety tension can be reduced easily by snipping spring tension, filing cam over points or breakin. Trigger can easily be upgraded but isn't terrible. Slide is already cut for red dot, Night sights factory, 3 mags. Spare the bs. Honest experience or opinion isn't a sales pitch.
Great review, as usual. I’ve got the M17 and the M18 and I’ve had no reliability issues at all. They’re both set up similarly, with Leupold DPPs and Surefire X300s. And side by side, I think I like the M18 a little better.
@@jordanepp9467 I think it’s the combination of the shorter barrel with the longer, full-size grip. It just balances really well for me. It’s kinda like the G45 which Outlaw mentioned, and also the G19X. Both those guns feel really good to me. I don’t think you could go wrong with either the M17 or the M18.
i carry the P320 carry model. It was made with the new trigger update and I trust it completely. If it had a manual safety I wouldn't use it so I'm glad it didn't come with one. I carry it Appendix style in the Tier 1 holster. This pistol is Awesome great feel reliability and accuracy.
I have 1400 rounds through my M18 so far and I haven’t had a single malfunction yet. I run my gun pretty “wet” with gun grease. Maybe P320s just want heavy grease to function correctly? I’m not a gun nut but I am a mechanic. One thing I know for a fact is that any metal on metal friction point LOVES grease. So it only makes sense to me that it would help a gun function. Side note: Grease attracts grime and dirt so I clean out all of the old grease and apply fresh grease every time I shoot it.
Until crap starts happening due to lower quality standards. I have several G2's and a G3. 2 of the 3 G2's won't lock back manually without an empty mag inserted. The metal was soft enough that a few thousand rounds caused the slide lock/release mechanism to deform. The very first G2 I bought (was not the C model) had a shit barrel right out of the box. As for the G3, it's been ok so far but the build quality is noticeably bad when you have several higher quality pistols to compare it to. All in all, the G series definitely has a place (that's why I own 4) but there are reasons that they are half the price of my CZ, Glock, Sig, etc. As a matter of fact, I would say the best Taurus I own is DEFINITELY the TX22. Better build quality than the G series. I have bought so many because they're fun to take out and give them hell while not worrying about scratching them up and whatnot.
@@libertyspeak1883 same here. I bought the VP9 when it first came out and while I like it, I think the P10c is a better gun overall and it was a good bit cheaper. Walther is also high value (especially the PPQ). I got in on the Canik TP9 before any RUclipsrs were doing videos on them (years ago). I only wished it was a little more compact but it's still an excellent gun after a good bit of abuse.
I've had 3 of the PT-111s and 2 G3s. More reliable than any Glock Ive owned or personally witnessed run. I'll take a G2c over a Glock any day. At least the Taurus can eat 50 rounds without a case not ejecting... I carry the Sig M-17 now though. Being able to kind of hide 60 rounds on my person in 3 mags seems like a good idea.
I've had my m18 for about 4 months now. I wanted something optics ready, fde, with a manual safety. I ditched the sights right away and put a red dot on it. This is my first red dot pistol and I don't want to shoot any of my iron sight pistols anymore. The only thing I want to change is the grip module, I want to do a compact module to make conceal carry easier.
@Mnason Wheeler I got a CZ shadow 2 with 1300 rounds so far. I had zero malfuncions but I believe its not just the gun its also the ammo you use. And always clean and lubricate your weapon after you shoot.
I am pushing my boundaries and My Sig M18. Hitting a 4 inch spinner plate and 110 yards. Shooting my Sig M18 for the last 3 and a half years has made me very confident. My Sig M18 is running perfectly even after 11,000. Excellent pistol very accurate and very reliable pistol.
@@HonestOutlawReviews I listened to you and installed the Apex trigger in my M&P 2.0 9c 4 inch. It now breaks at 3.7 lbs. every time. Thanks and get that school going!
Hey Honest Outlaw (and fans), you should know the drop safety thing is a bit old and has been remedied. If your buying an older p320 that has the thinker trigger, then it hasn’t been updated. Send it to Sig and they will update it for free. All beer ones, including the one reviewed here, have the issue fixed.
Hmm. Very interesting on the reliability issues. I'm LE in SD and I'm 9k+ in my 320C and not a single hiccup, and I've fired every imaginable brand of ammo through it including reduced hand loads (for training young shooters). I do prefer the X series grip module. Good vid, thanks for sharing.
I carry appendix and would never carry the P320. Video below is enough to convince me. The problem is that the P320's striker is charged and ready to go, apparently even under conditions where the trigger is never pulled under "vibrations", unlike Glocks which have strikers that aren't "charged" when cocked. There have been many instances when the P320's accidentally fire while still in the holsters (no trigger pull, no drop): ruclips.net/video/-SBpZBs3foA/видео.html&feature=emb_logo www.unionleader.com/news/courts/nh-mans-lawsuit-claims-sig-sauer-pistol-fired-without-trigger-pull/article_63c8f130-af21-5eb0-b67d-c12943be8493.html www.phillytrib.com/news/local_news/septa-cop-whose-gun-mysteriously-fired-cleared-of-wrongdoing-litigation-against-gunmaker-pending/article_c6d39ae2-af54-5738-b089-b8639032cd8a.html
It's been known that certain P320 M17/M18 versions are setup differently than regular P320's... cited as possessing stiffer, more durable recoil spring assemblies EXACTLY like the military-spec M17/M18... meant to run NATO-spec rounds... run NATO-spec 124gr or 124gr +P ammo and you should be good-2-go.
I have shot 253 rounds of 115 grain fmj without any malfunctions whats so ever. I am going to continue shooting until I reach 500, 750 and 1000 and give my opinion. Honestly this is a awesome weapon and I absolutely love it.
My favorite pistols are all SIGs...I guess that makes me SIGtard. Nevertheless, I shoot noticeably better with my SIGs over Glocks, S&W, etc. My pistols have never suffered failure. But, there have been plenty of RUclips videos depicting all sorts of failures (e.g., P365 firing pins, P320 drop-fires). Maybe God is just shining a little extra grace on me with regards to my guns. As always, thank you for another great, even-handed, and forthright video.
It's not in what you own or like, it's in the attitude and if you're preaching without being asked. If you like someone enough, let them have a try and make up their own mind.
Reliability is a variable from numerous main points: ammo, lubrication, grip. Accuracy is a variable as long as you measure with a ransom or bench rest. I can definitely agree on the this 320 base platform and its Accuracy issues after personally experience with a pair of sequential serial numbered M17s my son and I use since Christmas 2018. At 20 yds the groups on both were at 2" @ 20yds. This is acceptable yet the fixed sights retains the grouping at the 2 o'clock position...1.5" of center for both. The real reason im mentioning this is Sig doesn't test their guns at 20yds... they retain a 10yd or less test which IMHO is a failure of Q&A. Simply put, I think they have an inherent crown issue in production. Reliability in our pair has been flawless. Multiple ammo brands and grain versions. Lubrication and type of lube I believe plays a major role in breaking and common use.... its mechanical...lube it properly cause your grip is great, you use good ammo same as us... IMHO
I have noticed there are people out there who for some unknown reason only care about the name on something and not the actual product! TYVM FOR telling the TRUTH about this gun it is one of the reasons I watch YOUR channel!
Never been a big fan of FDE guns, but the m18 has really grown on me to the point I'm considering it as a 2nd p320 purchase. Having a unit with the manual safety for home defense, seems like a better option than changing out the x5 legion for a carry size grip module.
Definitely true, trigger, grip, sights, slide release, rail, finish, are below market standard for a pistol that is slightly more expensive than average. Better out of the box options from Walther, CZ, Beretta, S&W, Springfield, and FN for the same or less money than a Glock. People buy Glocks for aftermarket hopes and dreams and because they had one as a cop.
I have 2 and I have to agree. Trigger jobs and a lot of polishing and it's become great; it was reliable out of the box; but that's it... sponge bob trigger; and the plastic sights are Kmart value.
I have the P320, I’ve had no problems with it at all. No failure to feed or eject issues. I have a three guns in my carry rotation and the 320 is on of them.
5000+ rounds through my M18 with zero malfunctions and it is pin point accurate out to 75 yards. Dont know why its bad for others. Operates much cleaner than glocks I've shot.
“Under the Modular Handgun System (MHS) contract, the M17 and the M18, are required to undergo MHS Material Reliability Testing at certain intervals. Lot Acceptance Testing normally tests handguns to 5,000 rounds and allows up to 12 stoppages to achieve a passing grade. In the latest MHS Material Reliability Test, the Army, as mentioned, fired 12,000 rounds through three M18 pistols and each passed with flying colors. There were no stoppages. If that wasn’t enough, after this strenuous testing those same poor M18s passed a parts interchange test, met all of the stringent accuracy and dispersion requirements, were tested for firing pin indent and trigger pull measurements to ensure consistency and conformed to all workmanship standards. This was not a SIG Sauer test! It was conducted by the U.S. Army with soldiers shooting military ammo. There is no spin here, just tedious performance.” Might I suggest you wear out the spring a bit, and wear in that feed ramp a bit further. If you are planning to rely on your M18 for home defense, keep your 21 round magazine stacked with 147 grain +P Hollow points. I called SIG, and they said the heavier grain, and the higher the boom, is the favorite for this particular pistol.
I’ve got a P320 Gen1 that has 1500 rounds with no failures. Sent it back for the Voluntary Upgrade. Some time after I dropped it on concrete and it fell hard enough to put a huge dent in the beavertail. DID NOT FIRE. I trust my life with it.
@@MC-dz8be I haven't had time yet. I have to schedule some time to go to the range. Probably will within the next few weeks. Will let you know when I do tho. As it is I'm still waiting for my holster and new belt to be delivered. Got a Galco holster and 5.11 Trainer tactical belt.
agreed. My edc is a 92A1 (like the M9A3 except with a regular 92 grip as opposed to the Vertec style) and I wouldn't swap it for anything. Imo the 92 platform is unbeatable.
The problem I have with Glock and Sig being sub par compared to others like the CZ P 10 is that you're going to spend more money to get them up to par than you would if you just bought a CZ. I'm a lefty, so I feel more comfortable shooting something that's ambi. I recently bought a concealed carry pistol and the Glock 19 was ruled out immediately because it feels like I'm holding a 2x4. The Sig M18 was ruled out because of price to make it comfortable. I had it narrowed down to the CZ P 10C and the Beretta APX compact. I ended up going with the APX because it was on sale for $329 brand new. That left me with a few hundred dollars to make it what I want. I changed out the firing pin spring for $13 and that made the trigger pretty decent. I also bought the extended mags with spacers for cheap and I'm still under the price of a Glock. I plan on changing out the sights, but they're only $110 and to be honest, the factory sights are pretty decent, so that isn't going to happen any time soon. I have 500 rounds through the APX with no failures and very good accuracy. I do plan on getting a P 10C just because it is the most comfortable ambi pistol that I've held and it pretty much doesn't need anything to make it great. I am very happy with the APX though and I'm glad I bought it.
Not regretting my Centurion @ $320. Add Galloway striker spring, $20, Olight Valkyrie PL Mini 2 (sale) @ $66 and barely break $400 pre tax... Life is good.
@@Airplanetyson Spending extra money doesn’t bother me when you get what you pay for. When you buy a Bentley, you get higher quality things than if you bought a Ford. I don’t see the point in paying more for something and not getting more. I have a $2,000 airgun that is worth every penny. You can’t kill a ground hog at 165 yards with a red rider. When you buy a Glock, all you are doing is paying for a name. There’s plenty of guns out there that cost less and give you better options with the same reliability as a Glock.

Outlaw! So great to have you back! I’ve been wanting to get one of those Flux Defense MP17s based on your review. Can you let us know how that works with the M18? I’ve heard from Flux that they’re re-engineering the MP17 due to some issues with the Legion, and probably some other products soon, but anything you can show us or tell us about in the comments would be fantastic. Another outstanding video!
I own the Flux M17 and LOVE LOVE LOVE the thing..and I credit the great Honest one here for turning me on to it...to answer your question , the slide on the M18 is shorter for it's intended purpose by Uncle Sam and that will be a hazard on the Flux platform..they state that in their information...so plan to go M17 if you expect to get into the Flux product (and actually a non-safety 320 makes even more sense as it's faster to drop in/out of the Flux brace..with the safety models, you have to take their allen wrench and remove one of the braces. That said, I was still tempted to also grab an 18 as my side arm so that I'd have common mags, but Outlaw's review is spot on, so until I come across a killer deal on an 18, I think I'll stick with my old faithfuls on my hip.
10,028 rounds i fired through my sig sauer m18. Through out my 10k rounds nothing ever broke no parts whatsoever. I had 1 single malfunction which was a stovepipe using L.A.H.A.B ammo. I bought an M17 as my first handgun, one of my buddies got the M18. We both love them.
A.J. Hodges Nato 9mm is higher pressure than standard, essentially its 124gr +P
@@ryanpeck3377 yeah ... hes saying range ammo is weaker... hence the failures with range ammo and military testing using NATO ammo had no failures

@@CanikPlease how do you like it? Pros. Cons,?
I have this Sig. Has run flawlessly for me. Love it.

You have shown that an experienced and skillful shooter can work with just about any gun. Almost went with a 320 but due to its previous problems with drop safety and some personal preference I ended up going with the gen 5 mos. Couldn't be happier. Threw a tlr7a and holosun 507 with a c&h plate on it and called it good
Same here. I love the Gen5 mos. I may like my P10c a little better at times but they're both so damn good who cares.

I had a G2. Worst pos I’ve ever bought:
Kirk Stewart you don’t always get what you pay for, but with Taurus you do.
"If you don't mind ignoring the 23 issues I found with the gun, then sure, it's great."
Post proof. Or who cares?
@Mnason Wheeler okay fanboy;)
@MNason Wheeler
[X to doubt]
Glock fan boys heard from again. 23? Really?
@Mnason Wheeler I got a CZ shadow 2 with 1300 rounds so far. I had zero malfuncions but I believe its not just the gun its also the ammo you use. And always clean and lubricate your weapon after you shoot.
I am pushing my boundaries and My Sig M18. Hitting a 4 inch spinner plate and 110 yards. Shooting my Sig M18 for the last 3 and a half years has made me very confident. My Sig M18 is running perfectly even after 11,000. Excellent pistol very accurate and very reliable pistol.
Still rather have my M&P1.0 9mm ....paid $299(New) .........well over 1,000 rds without issue ...
me too
Omg....I thought.for about a minute you stated 1000 yrds. With no issues....😂
@@HonestOutlawReviews I listened to you and installed the Apex trigger in my M&P 2.0 9c 4 inch. It now breaks at 3.7 lbs. every time. Thanks and get that school going!
I'm still hanging on to my Ruger P89 😂.
flea1951 I put an apex in my m&p compact too and it changed my life. I’ll never go back to stock triggers
Almost bought one, glad I bought a 92x instead
92x is a nice pistol.
I saw this gun on Instagram and fell in love with it instantly . Definitely my next purchase. Thank you for the thorough review!
The new Wilson Combat SIG is ✅. If I were you BE CAREFUL with a P320 on 🚔 duty. In 9mm, I like 124gr +P Federal HST & Critical Duty 124gr +P.
I carry appendix and would never carry the P320. Video below is enough to convince me. The problem is that the P320's striker is charged and ready to go, apparently even under conditions where the trigger is never pulled under "vibrations", unlike Glocks which have strikers that aren't "charged" when cocked. There have been many instances when the P320's accidentally fire while still in the holsters (no trigger pull, no drop): ruclips.net/video/-SBpZBs3foA/видео.html&feature=emb_logo

Thank you for your rundown and opinion. I have been eyeballing one of these at my local gun shop. You are an excellent shooter by the way.
Would love to see a review of the Canik TP9 Elite Combat Executive. (Yes, I keep asking)
Honestly the only Canik I wanted to see him review.
@@dewayner5388 Me too
Reliability is a variable from numerous main points: ammo, lubrication, grip. IMHO
Drove through Iowa today and thought of yall.
I love my Sig m18 too. Keep shooting bro
11:18 goodness sounds like a lot of hurdles, reading reviews on here it seems like people have been very happy with it
Just bought one myself’
You are absolutely correct! Glock is definitely subpar out of the box.
Nah
My son who is in the USAF are now using the sig M18. He just qualified 9/7/21 👍
There is no spin here, just tedious performance.”
Might I suggest you wear out the spring a bit, and wear in that feed ramp a bit further.
If you are planning to rely on your M18 for home defense, keep your 21 round magazine stacked with 147 grain +P Hollow points. I called SIG, and they said the heavier grain, and the higher the boom, is the favorite for this particular pistol.
No stoppages? 😉
I find myself coming to your page for gun reviews more so than others. I think you do a great job. Keep up the good work bud.
Every time my ears hear "adopted by XYZ Agency" my brain hears "forced upon them by politicians and accountants, not shooters"
The FBI wanted new P320 models a few years ago but settled for new 17M, 19M models. Maybe that was a +.
@darkjedi351 I only wish there were more penny pinchers in the government. Waaaaaaaaay more. I'm not sure what you are thinking.
@@JK-vc7ie they are penny pinchers so there is more left to fill up their pockets
I’ve got a P320 Gen1 that has 1500 rounds with no failures. Sent it back for the Voluntary Upgrade. Some time after I dropped it on concrete and it fell hard enough to put a huge dent in the beavertail. DID NOT FIRE. I trust my life with it.
"Sell us a gun cheap and we'll buy a bunch" seems to be "military grade" someties. "Military grade" doesn't mean what it use too.
Sig won by default as they were the only company that bid a modular handgun to the modular handgun competition.
@@blegi1245 That's not remotely true. Beretta also had the APX in the trials. The general who picked the Sig got a fat kick-back (allegedly).
blegi you are fake news sir.
Military grade has always meant just enough to get by.
@@dbelex amen to that.
I just bought this gun today. Can't wait to test it out. Mine also came with the extended mags.
How did the test go go for you?
@@MC-dz8be I haven't had time yet. I have to schedule some time to go to the range. Probably will within the next few weeks. Will let you know when I do tho. As it is I'm still waiting for my holster and new belt to be delivered. Got a Galco holster and 5.11 Trainer tactical belt.
@@ironman2326 oh yes please update after you do go, this gun intrigues me a lot.
The military really should of gave the new berettas a chance. My M9A3 is the best handgun I’ve used thus far.
agreed. My edc is a 92A1 (like the M9A3 except with a regular 92 grip as opposed to the Vertec style) and I wouldn't swap it for anything. Imo the 92 platform is unbeatable.
I just bought a M18 CA version this morning from SW in CA. They had 40 listed online at 4 AM and they sold out in 3 hours.
Get what you can afford and like. That extra money doesn’t bother others like it does you. Some people drive Bentleys others drive Fords.
@@heloanp81 I am not referring to Glocks, I had over 10 Glocks and now own zero. I’m referring to sigs, such as the M18, AXG Scorpion, the P229 Legion’s, M11-A1s, and the Rollie Royce of them all the SSE models.
This will be my first pistol. Im still excited to get it. Watching it fail three times makes me realize that's its still a 600 dollar pistol. New sub btw. Great review brotha. Thanks alot
Slick the 19x is my favorite glock, and I’m not a striker fired guy at all I hate them but the 19x is sweet I’d get it before the SIG
My Sig 2022 has never malfunctioned and cost significantly less.
My M18 does like Rem brown box ammo. Had 4 stovepipes while breaking it in, but only with that ammo.
Three or four malfunctions after only a thousand rounds? Guess I'll hold onto my POS Beretta 92.
Mine will be here next week. Thanks for the review 👍🏻
What are some of the better options to buy than the M18 in its class?
M&p 9 2.0
I made a 70 yard shot hitting a 4 inch metal plate with my sig sauer m18. I have 11,000 rounds on mine now. Excellent pistol.
The drop safety was already fixed on this weapon. You can tell by the trigger.
Exactly. They were fixed well over a year or 2 ago and it was only the first couple thousand of the m17s that were recalled for it
According to a current lawsuit, the trigger didn't help. I'll see where that goes before I buy one.
The gun still went off with the upgrade
8119 rounds through my Sig M18, 1881 rounds to go to make 10,000. I am still waitng for some sort of malfuntion.

Picked up an m18. I'm closing in on 1,000 rounds and I've experienced 2 eject catches. the casing gets caught ejecting, and I gotta flick it out of the way. Other than that, no malfunctions.
update: Just watched your HK USP 9mm video. the rounds being stuck was exactly like my Sig m18, with the powder burns as well. May have been the ammunition.
Just heads up. The issues with the MP17 and the Legion were fixed around the end of January. All units after that have the fix.
The drop safe issue was resolved with an internal redesign...
As a military handgun it more than does the job....
