Katie Lynn Oh same! They’ve really inspired me to revitalize my neglected garden. I’ve learned so much watching their videos and have taken this season to look at the bones, remove some over growth, baby what’s there and plan for next year. (I garden in a 7b). The elm is a huge loss for many reasons but I have full confidence they will choose something beautiful for its place. ❤️

I can't tell you what to do with your garden, but PLEASE. The Marguerite Daisy, Playing the Blues Salvia and Fountain Grass mixture is STUNNING and you absolutely should do that on a larger scale!!!!!! Of all the spots in the garden that one stood out for me because I just *craved* more. The levels, colours and texture together is perfection!!!!!
Absolutely stunning. I live for these garden update videos. This is my first year in a home I own myself, and even though I'm in a little apartment with a tiny balcony you have consistently inspired me and taught me so much valuable information 💕💕💕💕💕

I loved the tour! And the overhead shots. Sometimes it is hard to remember exactly where on your property about which you are talking, so the overhead shots help me understand. This was a three-cup tour. The elm certainly is a difficult loss, even though it had its issues (stupid seeds everywhere). The before-after shot of the coop really brought home the problem you guys have. Thanks for a great tour.

The world can be very chaotic but to have something peaceful and beautiful to watch helps to encourage us to know that goodness is still in the world. Also, we can make our space attractive too. I lost 3 large trees in my backyard in about 2 seconds. In a tornado they were tossed like a salad. I went from almost full shade to full sun. It was horrible at first but actually turned into a blessing.
I had trees in the front that had grown and that area had changed from full sun to a lot of shade. I moved my back shade plants to the front. I had visited my sister-in-law and she had over 100 roses and I learned about and fell in love with roses. So then I started planted roses in my back yard gardens.
I did find beauty in the ashes :)

Love the longer tours, usually they are to short.
Regarding your comment about restraining yourself- no, no and no. The fun of experimenting with new plants is what inspires your viewers. I've found and planted many plants you have shown in your videos. Now have limelight hydrangea, coralberries, prettier heuchera, sedums, bigger variety of hostas and the Bloomerang lilac. My gardens are starting to get complements from neighbors and people just passing thru while walking their dogs. The best part though is just sitting under my amur maple enjoying the peace of my flowers with a book and ice tea

Jane, your comment just brought back a memory for me of times past when our entertainment used to be having friends and relatives drop by for a visit. Mother's flower and vegetable gardens were always tiptop and visitors would "meander" around the garden area and Mother would describe each plant and share cuttings. Laura shares her knowledge and skill in gardening with us but even more special is her love of plants and how she tries to give each plant the best life possible. That love and joy shines through.

Try some Cool-a-roo fabric over the top of the chicken run to keep them cool. I’d do a fan that pulls air through the coop. I think installing an a/c unit will make them more susceptible to heat stress overall. And lots of cold clean water, and perhaps a misting spray in the run?

Please don’t add misters. They increase the chance of hens getting coccidia. Perhaps it’s not a problem with desert heat but we have a problem with humidity & killler diseases.

I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning and it’s wonderful to see not only your garden, but you and your family grow and change and get more beautiful every year. Thank you for sharing this with us. I have a small garden but I love it and you inspire me so much. Thank you!!!!!!!

I’m a fan who loves your posts and especially your breathy walk abouts naming all those various plantings! In this day and age, how refreshing to have a beautiful young woman expound on her garden as if she were describing a valued necklace of family jewels! You and your Aaron, along with Cheddar? and chickens are more fun to watch than going to the movies! Live long and prosper!

Love your garden tours! I actually like to openness you have now from removing the elm. Don't be too sad, that view of the coop and the barn is BEAUTIFUL! We keep chickens here in the southern heat. We have no shade trees around their run either, but one part has a corrugated metal roof and a good section of their run is covered with trumpet vine that (at least here) grows like crazy. So maybe some sort of vine could be a temporary option. We do have a fan the circulates air in the coop but that's it. Sometimes we will also provide them with some water trays in the extreme heat so they can get their feet wet to cool off or we wet down the run.

It won't be long and they'll forget about the elm. I've removed about ten trees and have to struggle to remember where some of them were. Nice to not have elm seeds.

I couldn’t believe how emotional I got when you spoke of the life lesson losing the elm demonstrates. As you stated, we need change to grow and sometimes it’s forced upon us. How true. Thank you to both of you for the joy you bring to so many. Blessings-

The forgotten area is the perfect spot for a large Hartley Botanic "Bespoke Victorian Lodge Greenhouse" and replace the fence with boxwoods with an english cottage garden on inside. We would love to see that Clint & Carrie ...Ps...Thanks for giving us the best garden shows on the web.

Love, love, love the long garden tours and so much to look forward to seeing next year with all the huge changes. I really like the idea of taking the fence down by the back formal garden especially after seeing the aerial views. That would make the space feel more inclusive to the rest of the yard instead of cut off. Excited to see what you decide to do in places where the big trees were taken out. I so look forward to winter for all the planning and dreaming about new projects and Spring!! Thanks Laura and Aaron!!!

Absolutely LOVED this long garden tour! These special videos COULD NEVER be too long! Thank you all: Laura, Aaron, Benjamin, Russell & Cheddar for welcoming us into your fabulous home and garden! I appreciate all the hard work you guys do with gardening, making & editing your videos. The oaks being gone has opened up your garden in a great way! I can only imagine how much you'll enjoy the change. That elm tree's absence is another thing entirely! I have a huge old river birch that we planted over 30 years ago. It's one of the biggest trees in this division & is at a front corner of my lot. I can't imagine WHAT I'll do when it's finished living! Surely you'll find a good, strong, fast-growing specimen to take its place! The climbing Zephirine Drouhin's might help SOME. A trumpet vine or a type of creeper might provide both shade AND food for hummingbirds & other pollinators! I'll be anxious to see what plans you come up with for the previously unused area behind the fence you're going to remove! How WILL you utilize these newly opened up spaces? Sounds like some exciting winter time brainstorming ahead! Enjoy! Thanks again, guys, for sharing this WONDERFUL VIDEO! 🌾💜
