I was 25 when I was working with troubled 17 year olds. They were literal children. Doing this blows my mind
The ONLY people I can understand being somewhat defensive about Cody are young adults who were victims themselves as teens. Often, we tend to believe that age gaps aren't wrong and that we were really mature, that's why this person did this with me. The denial of the issue comes from wanting to protect yourself from realizing you were harmed. Anyone else though?? Absolutely not. There is no other reason to think this was ok. It grosses me out to even think about doing anything with a teen, and I am younger than Cody was at the time.

Rachel Oates made a good point about the people saying that 17 and 18 are basically the same age, namely: That's not the point. The point isn't "Oh, 17 and 18 are basically the same age, who cares?" The point is that 25 is WORLDS away from 17/18.
Also, the age of consent in Florida is 18, full stop. Anything below that, no matter how close, is still underage.

Tana did not have anyone to protect her when she was younger in this space. It’s sad the adults that took advantage of her, ESPECIALLY sexually, thinking no adult is there to hold them accountable FOR HER. She deserved to be protected as a teenager, no matter the choices she made. She was a TEENAGER.

This is what I’ve been saying. She dropped out of high school at 15 or 16 and moved to LA alone as a minor to flee a bad home life. People with that background are WAY more likely to have stuff like this happen to them.
Exactly. And I feel like people arguing against her say that if she was 18 it would have been fine. But there is a clear Power imbalance between them as she stated, because she was a Fan of his, and back then it was clearly already perceived as something that definitely should not happen, made clear by Gabbi Hanna Telling him she's 17. And, most importantly, she certainly has to deal with this and is deeply affected by it in her own way.
If you need more evidence that what happened was really bad, no matter if it would have been a crime in your state or country or not, then that, to me, is a problem.
In germany the age of consent is 14. But not so that 25 year olds can have Sex with 14 year olds. And until you are 18, it is a crime if a person that has some type of power over you (e.g. a teacher) has sex with them. And Cody had power over her.

It’s obvious to me that someone being annoying isn’t reason to reject or doubt their claims, but wouldn’t having a history of lying for attention be a reason? Take the Boogie situation for example (there’s more evidence here). If you’re a known liar, it doesn’t surprise me when people don’t immediately believe you.
From what I understand, Tana has a history of hyperbole and even lying for attention.

Not only was Cody Ko 25 at the time, but Tana was a fan of him. Cody Ko took advantage of an underage fan after being told that she was underage.
And she was clearly trying to come up on social media. So she’s a fan of his, he’s way older, she’s trying to make industry connections… all of this combines into an actually vulnerable person being taken advantage of

Psychologically, it's most common for people who have committed a crime repeatedly to act casual about it. So that's deeply concerning to me, that he's so 'yeah, what?' about this. There's definitely another victim.

There was one point that D’angelo made that I thought was incredibly important that I haven’t heard many people acknowledge: in the commentary community, particularly among left-leaning creators, men can get a lot of views and subscribers by “dunking on misogynists” but when it comes to actually holding their friends/peers accountable they often choose to remain silent. As someone who has survived sexual assault it always sticks out to me when it seems like a man is presenting himself as an ally but still associates with people who are known abusers. I think a lot of survivors, particularly women, feel really jaded by the constant stream of men who present themselves as feminists being unmasked as liars. It’s frustrating to see our trauma being exploited in this way and makes it even more difficult to heal and trust people. Thanks for speaking up and for acknowledging why people may have been upset by silence. It takes a lot to drop any defensiveness and to think about why people are emotionally heightened. Anyway, I appreciate you both.

@@Geebicusi am not trying to be rude but you are basically defending sexual perpetrators with this mentality. the og commentor stated a very true reality when it comes to victims and abusers, in this scenario specifically: female victims of male abusers. you are actively defying the 'believe victims' message by bringing up hypothetical and even irrelevant situations.
yes, of course people could falsely accuse with malicious intent against a person. but the reason the 'believe victims' mentality exists isn't in support of false allegations, it's to not let actual perpetrators slip into the darkness while people of your mentality are too busy accusing victims of lying.
of course nothing is proven, but quite frankly, if these allegations weren't truthful then cody wouldn't be ignoring them like this. if someone knew they were being falsely accused as an attempt to defamate their life or career, they would immediately speak up to avoid this defamation. but if the allegations are true, it makes more sense why cody is choosing to remain silent, because he knows he can't claim they're false.
@@Geebicus I was just pointing out that, if a women isn't the "perfect victim", people on the internet will very quickly accuse her of lying or making stuff up for whatever reason and if the man who's accused is likeable and popular, it's even more unlikely for her to be believed. Such cases are very, very difficult to "prove" in a court because usually there is no evidence (unless one is Cody's friend and filmed it) I guess at the end of the day it's just important to remember that every one of us probably knows at least one girl or women that got assaulted or worse, many of them never said anything or pressed charges. If one is accusing victims of lying and treating them like a potential criminal instead of believing them, that will never change.That doesn't mean that you should take out your pitchfork and hunt any guy with allegations down, but it means that we need to be more careful about how we speak about those women coming forward. Let's take the P. Diddy case as an example. How many people accused Cassie online of lying before the security camera footage showed up? Disgustingly many. There are far more men getting away with abuse and rape than women lying about it. One would think it's the other way around, reading your comment, but it's truly not.
@@Louisa536 this is why i try to take the mentality of "take all allegations seriously" as opposed to like, declaring i 100% believe the accused is guilty, though i generally do feel both ways (believe the victim and take them seriously). still, i think framing it this way might be helpful for anyone who pulls the "innocent until proven guilty!!" card (ignoring the fact that the court of law and the court of public opinion don't operate on the same rules) because it addresses the possibility of the accused being innocent, but it also doesn't assume innocence, nor discredit the accusations. believe victims is GREAT, but the statement will often lose anyone on the fence or anyone more reticent to take a person at their word, regardless of the claims being levied.
basically it's like, okay YEAH sure. hypothetically the accused may be innocent, i won't deny that. HOWEVER. it's critical to treat the allegations seriously, and not to treat the accuser like they're lying for attention or w/e. allow them to speak openly about their experiences, provide emotional support, that sort of thing. at the same time, put pressure on the accused to address the allegations, don't let them dodge the responsibility of acknowledging what's going on. scrutinize carefully how they react and what they do in response. it's reasonable to treat cagey-ness as suspicious, and to take issue with a refusal to address the accusations at all. these behaviors may not themselves be indicators of guilt, but they don't lend any credibility to the accused either. don't go so far as to start name-calling or sending threats to the accused, though, because that's its own kind of despicable, and it's really unproductive too - it can undermine the position of the accuser even, which ain't great. let's treat everyone involved like the human beings that they are, EVEN IF you don't like one or both parties. they're still people! and so are we! so it will go a long way to remain civil and treat each other with at least a bare minimum amount of respect. and, should the truth be as dark (or worse) than original presented... don't let the abuser get away with it.

In my opinion, all of the things that make Tana an "imperfect" victim actually made her way more vulnerable for it to happen. She came from an unstable household and was an extreme partier and wanted to be rich and famous and wanted to be a part of the cool kids club. Yeah, she was annoying on RUclips and also does need to be held accountable for her wrongdoings, but none of those things discount the fact that Cody, knowing she was 17, still decided to sleep with her
It's interesting that the phrase "perfect victim" is so at odds with the entire context of being an "at risk youth". Tana was, as many other victims are or were, high risk for this type of abuse. She had no support, had fallen in with the (and I kinda hate this term but it's accurate here) "wrong crowd", and Cody realized that.
She was 17 and 10 months old. So two more months and this is a non story? Or if they were in 32 other states in America it would be ok?? This is non story. She was rich famous and wanted to have fun with Cody and gave consent. The laws and society are making her feel like a victim when she isn’t. In the state Tana is from (Nevada) and the country Cody is from (Canada) the age of consent is 16. Cody is now married with a kid and yall want him to speak about something the “victim” isn’t asking for herself is weird. All this virtue signaling online is corny.

@@elizabethai That was the whole problem with Tanacon. People were, for some reason, shocked by the fact that a famously immature kid wasn't able to properly plan an impulsively made event, and people have used that as the fuel for why it's okay for bad things to happen to her as a person.

A person does not have to be perfect to be a victim, and a victim is not incapable of also committing their own wrongs.
None of what she did discounts what happened to her, but what happened to her also doesn't excuse her own actions.
I don't think Tana's later actions should be considered when discussing what happened to her. But I also don't think her actions can be ignored because of what happened to her. They are two separate issues.
When I was 16 I chose to be in a relationship with a 27 year old man. I was not pushed into it, and at the time I thought that I was sooo mature and like I understood exactly what I was doing. However, as the years passed and I understood and really processed what had happened, I sincerely regretted the relationship to my core... thankfully, we never even did more than kiss (although he did try to get me to come home to him and sleep at his place multiple times), but I'm still so disgusted by it.

As the mature adult in that situation, he should've shut down any advances you made and he's 100% responsible for what happened and he took advantage of you. The way people will try to claim that the victim "choses" to engage or even instigate is absurd. if people refuse to support victims because they have done something controversial in the past, they're basically saying you have to earn the right to not be harmed by being perfect. no one deserves to be harmed. no one should ever be okay with a CHILD being harmed.

Even if she specifically mentioned Cody by name just because he was the biggest RUclipsr (which is not the only explanation) why would that matter? All that really matters is if she is telling the truth or not. It’s completely fine if you don’t think there is enough evidence to make a judgement call yet. But to me it feels like you’re creating hoops a victim has to leap through to be considered a victim at all.

It really is. It doesn't matter even if you did flirt with them and/or make the first move and approach them - you were a child. It is the responsibility of the adult to reject you. It does not MATTER what you did because you were a CHILD

I have the same experience. And to this day, my mom still tells me I’m a slut for it. Thankfully nothing physical happened. But the fact that my parents punished me and still remind me of it when I was 17 and he was 26, And they didn’t even confront him hurts so much.
I dated a 33-yo when I was 19, and I thought he wanted to get married and have more of a life with me. I was so immature and inexperienced. I couldn’t imagine dating a 25-year old now that I’m 33. Honestly, I was one of the Cody Ko fans that had to take a look inward when I reacted to the news. I didn't send hate to Tana but internally, I felt like defending him which is weird cause I always want to back the victim. It was the fact his groomsman is a sexual predator that really made me really uncomfortable. Then I saw D'Angelo's video with the clip of Gabby talking on it and I haven't clicked on a single video of his since. I've been really taken a look at my own judgements of women coming out and I'm so sorry to Tana.

Honestly, very similar reaction from my side. I think this is just the nature of parasocial relationships though. If someone I know well and think of in a positive light is suddenly accused of something horrible, my first instinct would be to defend them. But then you have to take a step back, you have to set your biases aside and evaluate the situation being fair to both sides. In this case, it isn't looking very favourable at all for Cody sadly...
When I was 25 I was a teacher in a school teaching 17 year olds. And I used to call everyone kiddo because in my mind they were small kids with lots of attitude and bad handwriting. 17 year olds or even 18 years old are kids. My God what is wrong with these people.

My mom is a pediatric forensic psychologist. One of her patients was called promiscuous by a judge once for having been abused when she was 8. I love what he says about how "Innocent until proven guilty" only applies to the legal system and that everyone can decide if they believe a victims story after hearing it, and hes decided to believe her/the story.

That's what I hate about this kind of conversations on the online space, there's a whole lot of people who view whatever the law is as what is moral when the two are linked but not the same. The inability of some people to separate the two really hinders potential progress in how we approach these kind of situations and who people support. If older people watch the videos then the younger people who are expected to not know better feel legitimized in their like. Normally that is fine but when these sorts of situations happen people refusing to discuss morality due to the fact it's such a grey area as no law can be 100% perfectly moral and never misused, well then its allowing someone to keep an audience the same age as the person harmed.
It's interesting that everyone I see defending Cody isn't claiming that he didn't do it, but that it wasn't a big deal. Because Tana is unlikeable and Cody's a good guy, right? An upsetting amount of people are pulling out the "it was a long time ago so we should let it go" argument, and "he has a wife and kid now so we shouldn't slander his name!" They act like talking about actions (or a CRIME) committed by someone is somehow an attack on their character. No, we are stating something Cody DID.

Speaking about tone, it's really hard for a victim to choose to sound like a victim. Tana sounds detached and "confident" probably because she wants to distance herself, at least emotionally, from what happened and she's already anticipating the backlash she's getting for it. It's hard to be vulnerable when bad stuff happens to you and even more so when you're expecting criticism for your part. That said, you guys are really great for supporting her. Everyone needs to speak up about this.

As if survivors aren't already policed enough (what they were wearing, if they were inebriated, etc), they also get criticized for how they choose to speak about their experience, down to their tone of voice "not sounding like a victim". I dont know anything about Tana and her past but most people dont realize that there is no Perfect Victim- And by that I mean there is no stereotypical way a victim would act or look. It doesnt matter what shes done in the past, because anyone can be hurt or victimized, even if they are a “Bad Person.” The world doesn’t function through such extremes.

My un pc opinion is that even if it she was 18, she’s a victim. Someone 17 and one month away from turning 18 and someone 18 and a week old are the same person. If I talk about my stalker, I usually do it while making it into a "jokey" story or tone. I've met many others who do the same. Laughter is a way to - very effectively may I add - cope with your own complex reactions to a situation.

One of the things that rubbed me the wrong way was that so many RUclipsrs (including commentary) were so quick to condemn and speak about Colleen as soon as it happened (rightfully so). But in this situation, it was radio silence for so long from all of those same people. I just personally believe that they should hold that same energy with everyone.
Edit: I know that back in 2020, Adams story was discredited by Colleen’s minions. I’m an avid watcher of Adam’s videos, so I was there to experience that. I’m referring to when it became “trendy” to cancel Colleen pre-ukulele video. Tana brought this to light years ago and it was swept under the rug just like with Colleen. However, now, bigger creators (the same ones that jumped on the Colleen cancel train) are seemingly turning a blind eye, whereas they didn’t with Colleen last year. Hope that clarifies!
I think the response to Colleen Ballenger was almost entirely because she drew extra attention to it through that really cringey and mockable apology that was like free real estate for content creators. If she stayed silent like Cody is doing I doubt it would have gotten a fraction as much of the attention it has.

As a victim, I do want to touch on the part where you guys talked about the tone of Tana speaking on her experience. I relate to her because when I talked to people about my experience in the past, I didn’t know how much it actually impact me. I would put it “lightly” or in a “joking” tone kinda like Tana since I didn’t really know how to speak on it with people and never had the mental capacity to process my trauma. So those people who brought her in a negative manner saying “but she’s speaking on it so confidently” are ones who really don’t know/care what they’re talking about. It’s so dismissive and it’s not the point to make.
As a survivor, it really means a lot that you guys covered this ❤️

@@coricognitions the point of my comment is that though the information was out there, the majority of people did not know about it. People who follow Tana or her friends would know, and though she has a large platform, I don’t know a single person online or irl who is part of that following. This is the case for many people bc there just isn’t a lot of crossover from Tana’s content to commentary content. Even though the videos of them interacting were out there, the majority of people were unaware they even knew each other. My point is that the majority of people were not “pretending the information wasn’t fully out there…”, they were unaware of the information. And that’s not their fault, thus the Maya Angelou quote.

i know you said you don’t expect a pat on the back but I really do want to thank you guys for talking about this. I was sexually assaulted and blackmailed with my own photos at 17 years old, by someone my same age who went to my school. When I reported it to my school authorities/ school police officer they quite literally turned the blame onto me and threatened that i would get into trouble if I reported it to the actual police and he had 0 consequences. The next year or so I had horrible diagnosed PTSD from that. I still struggle sometimes. Hearing and seeing people defending Cody or making excuses as to why to not believe Tana is heartbreaking and I can’t imagine what that would’ve done to 17 year old me. I’m 21 years old now and a lot more healed. If anyone reading this has been hurt, I promise it gets better and karma will get to whoever hurt you, and you are not tainted or impure, you are still you. And thank you Jarvis and Jordan again for everything you always do. I look up to yall a lot. -edit: also being 21 now, thinking of even being with an 18 or 17 year old romantically or whatever disgusts me, I see them as kids!! Literally so gross of him.

when i was SA i was also abusing pills and alcohol at the time, as someone who watched tana for a while now. she was also heavily suffering with addiction at this time. it SUCKS becuz you convince yourself you deserved it for living that “risky” lifestyle and people already don’t believe woman let alone take the word of an addict, now that I am three years sober i can now reflect on it and think otherwise but it took YEARS for me not to feel guilty for a crime that i was the victim in.

As someone who did date someone that was 24 when i was 17, I CAN NOT imagine that now. I'm 22 now, and they feel like a baby.
Yeah like I'm 24 and like being completely honest I find 21 year olds to be too young and different from me to want anything to do with them, let alone a 17 year old. What on earth would we have in common? I genuinely cannot wrap my head around predatory losers like this like maybe I'm just biased and more empathetic to younger people due to my own bad experiences but I really don't think that's the case?

I think it’s important to note that EVEN IF Tana doesn’t feels traumatised by this event it is still illegal. The point is that you cannot consent if you’re under the age of consent. No one’s looking at 11 year olds who have been groomed and assaulted and saying “oh but they say they’re fine”. That’s not how it works.

I love the way Jarvis put it when he said that even though he doesn't really know the guy personally, they are strongly linked algorithmically. There are a bunch of people in Danny and Drew's subreddit arguing that they don't need to say anything about it because they aren't that close to Cody. One guy even went so far as to detail every Collab they'd ever done and how long ago just to say 'see? They barely know him!' but that's not the point. The point is that the algorithm links them all together so there's a ton of overlap in their followings, and because of that, they have a lot of leverage to stop Cody from sweeping it under the rug.

Honestly D’Angelo has so much respect from me. If it wasn’t for his video this conversation wouldn’t even be taking place. He has a lot of integrity and I really appreciate him opening the floodgates, so to speak.
D'Angelo has always prioritized and respected victims of SA, to the point of, even when he's covering a truly heinous person, pointing out that no one deserves SA and blocking people in his comments who say otherwise. I respect that so much. Believing people and lifting up victims no matter how imperfect is something he's done since he was a tiny channel with 2k followers and he hasn't changed at all as he's gotten bigger.
Someone’s likability has no room in this discussion. How people feel about her does not change HIS actions. She was a minor and no one deserves to be taken advantage of. The most heart breaking part is she feels like it wasn’t traumatic because so many worse things happened to her.

As a woman and a sexual assault survivor, I want to say thank you.
Men hold so much more power than they realize and using your platform, no matter how many followers, is very impactful. The more men/boys that start to have these conversations or who shut down victim shaming when it occurs, the more that other men/boys become aware of how they view and speak about women and assault. I think truly the biggest impact about this kind of stuff comes when men hold their friends and/or coworkers/acquantices accountable for their actions and words when it comes to women.

Im glad people are taking it seriously even though Tana mentioned not feeling traumatized by what happened. Lack of trauma does not equal being okay with what happened. I’ve technically been SA’d too but, like Tana, had so much worse things going on at the same time that I wasn’t really traumatized by it. I do feel really embarrassed about what happened but not necessarily traumatized but my lack of trauma doesn’t mean Im okay with what happened to me.
yeah same! I experienced SA, but I wasn't left with lasting trauma, just kind of an icky gross feeling about that time period. it was still wrong of the dude who did it though, like just bc the victim doesn't need therapy doesn't mean it was chill
I related so much to her saying that. This situation has made me realise I've been internally downplaying shit that happened to me just because I don't have full on ptsd about it. It's still fucked up though and the way it affects you can be subtle
yes! she even said she didn't find it traumatizing because "so many worse things have happened to her" which says a lot... what happened was still a crime and still wrong, while I'm relieved it wasn't a terribly upsetting thing for her that doesn't change the criminality and wrongness of it. if I hit someone with my car because I ran a red light, and they happened to only have a few scratches and no serious injuries, that wouldn't change my liability for the crime.
I agree, and people need to acknowledge how tragic it is that Tana has had to condition her emotions in this way. People seem to skim over this statement without realizing what a difficult feat it is to compartmentalize your life like that. As someone who has had to do the same since I was kid just to present myself as a well-adjusted person to society, I hope she has people in her personal life who validate that.

thank u for talking abt this. one huge thing that ppl are missing is that tana also named Jc Caylen as someone who hooked up with her at that age & bc of how famous Cody is, nobody seems to be talking abt Jc. ik he's a nobody now, but that man had a HUGE young following when he was in his earlier 20s and should be held responsible. i kissed that man on the cheek when i was 13 & he was well in his 20s. i was obsessed with him as a pre/teen, so it makes me wonder what else he's done with such an easy access to so many teens who loved him.

D'Angelo's point of "certain people aren't talking about this" was about people who have SPECIFICALLY WORKED WITH HIM or have made content before about popular creators committing similar crimes. But instead mob mentality has taken over and creators as whole have been harassed. And the idea that if you're a victim you have to become a spokesperson and activist is a really bad take. To ask people to relive their traumas in order to make others happy is really messed up. I wish people spoke about these topics with nuance and care, so to see y'all make this video is such a breath of fresh air

Really appreciate you guys bringing up what message other victims might receive when they see the treatment of Tana. The pressure of presenting as a “perfect” victim can be so demoralizing and scary and it’s really important to demonstrate that everyone has a right to be taken seriously

My mom is a pediatric forensic psychologist. She has had to testify in court many times and try to convince judges and juries that it doesn't matter how imperfect the victim is, some things are just inherently wrong. It's disgusting how quick people are to go, "idk, sounds like the 'victim' was jerk" as if that has any relevance whatsoever to the actual morality of what happened. We're a sick society.
When I was 18 I hooked up with people quite a bit older than me. At the time I felt mature for my age- I felt like this was the right thing for me to be doing. Afterwards I had to reckon with the fact that at no point did I ever really feel in control. It's not possible. When one person in the scenario is just barely out of high school and the other person is old enough to be starting a family there is no world where you could call that an equal relationship. It doesn't matter how close to legal or illegal it was. It was wrong. I'm not going to LARP in a world where we judge creeps by whether or not their actions were technically statutory.

As someone who when I go to my therapy sessions and laugh hysterically when I talk about my trauma, sarcastic remarks and jokes are in there too- I can tell when someone clearly doesn’t understand trauma response. If you don’t laugh, you cry. And to protect your brain from further trauma you have to kinda lighten it for yourself when explaining it.
I hope more people learn from this situation how victims react and work through situations like this.

Absolutely same. I'm a DA/emotional abuse victim and have mental illness. I wish someone would make a standup comedy special dedicated to dark humor on all of this. I would love more chances to laugh about it. I certainly am tired of crying about it.
What the government arbitrarily deems "legal adulthood" does not change psychology, biology, or physiology. The human brain isn't fully developed until mid twenties. Iirc, the state where Kody did this has 18 as the legal age of consent, so it's still illegal. But even if they were in some backwoods state like Montana, where the age of consent is 16, she was still a child. Teenagers are teenagers, even if they're 19. There is no reason someone in their twenties should be viewing literal teens as sexual beings. People trying to debate this are self-snitching.
In the US it is illegal for anyone over the age of 18 to have sex with anyone under the age of 18, regardless of the age of consent in the state the act took placed, if either of them crossed state lines.
Not trying to diminish from your point that it’s wrong even if it isn’t illegal, I just wanted to share that it would be illegal regardless of where the act took place
People in power are wrong sometimes and there are too many knobheads who don't realise that. Here in the uk, they really want to push adulthood heavily onto kids by forcing them to pay expensive adult train tickets at 16 while they're still in school and receive extremely minimum wage if they're working, and you can legally have a relationship with someone in their 30s, while restricting them in other areas like not letting them buy drinks at a bar, get tattoos, send nudes or buy sex toys at a shop (fucking ridiculous since you can sleep with older adults) use paypal, or buy sharp objects like scalpels and brow razors. It's crazy, and it creeps me out reading comments of Brits and Europeans claiming it's all because of societal norms that 16 year olds here are "more mature", when I remember how immature they were in school and how they wouldn't be able to properly regulate their emotions. It's all lies used to excuse and hide teenage grooming. It's think it's also odd that people believe you're a child at 17 but become a fully functioning adult at 18, let alone 16 lol.

So insanely glad you mentioned the irrelevant circumstances regarding how a victim of sexual assault comes forward. Myself and many other victims fear that, if they do not articulate things in a solemn way, they will be assumed as lying or embellishing. Victims are allowed to process and articulate their trauma in whatever way they see necessary (so long as it doesn’t harm other victims) and therefore their statement stands in a vacuum, regardless of tone, sexual history, virtue, etc etc etc. thank you for making mainstream the problems with the “perfect victim”. This video gives me hope.
I never thought about this. I was speaking with -police- about my assault and they said I didn’t seem like I was upset so I couldn’t have been telling the truth of the situation. They told my mom that and we left.

I was groomed by a 26 year old who had sex with me when I was 17... I had basically a very similar experience. I came to terms with it only very recently too (when I got to the mid twenties and realized how fucked that all was..) , and started openly allowing myself to think and talk about it. I have no doubt in my mind Tana is speaking the truth. I see my own experience mirrored in hers. And I see how people react to it too.. Just the same. There's no apology. It's so, so fucked to go for a teenager when you're in your twenties. Thank you so much for this video and for saying what you say.

I am so so happy to hear someone else mention Amanda Toddhunter! I found out about this stuff through her, and I was absolutely shocked and disgusted as I’ve followed him for years. I was subscribed to all of his channels, I followed the podcasts, I listened to the TMG music, I even considered buying the merch. He was my comfort channel for years, and this has been so unbelievable and disheartening. I stand with Tana, I hope he addresses this but I doubt he will, and I’m incredibly disappointed in the community response from certain people.
When you reach/pass the age of the person who mistreated you as a child, it changes your perspective entirely. Thank you for speaking on this.
As someone who experienced grooming and who doesn't have a platform, seeing people support Tana and condemn Cody feels very cathartic.
