Red Bull could not have picked a better partner for this project! I saw the landing (as a big fan of Red Bull.) and then I saw MP's video come up on my feed and of course the only thought I had was "of course Mike Patey was involved... EPIC!"
I saw the Red Bull video first, caught a glimpse of Mike in it, and immediately came here to see if there was a video. It's not even surprising to me that Mike would be involved with this stunt, there's probably no better engineer/builder in the world for the task.

Absolutely fantastic work Mike and Redbull. We knew you’ve been working on “special projects” in the background while building the house but I never thought this would be it. So awesome that you were able to include Dex, Dylan, and Ron and have this special “family” build project. I know those boys will both go on to be outstanding individuals due to their upbringing. so cool that his sons helped with the aircraft. Its so important to have a father and son (or sons) relationship. My Dad is a pilot, and My little brother is a Naval air traffic controller. I on the other hand have severe hearing loss and couldn't join the U.S. Military, but instead started flight school. Aviation is what we all relate to, and I couldn't be happier. All we do in life is make memories, and its important to make memories with both of your parents. His relationship with his kids is similar to the relationship that I have with my father, and I'm thankful every day to have my dad's support.... Hell, I sure as hell hope dad is thankful for my support.

I would consider myself a fairly successful guy (MD, own my own clinic and clinic building, married 22 years, 3 good kids) but I look at Mike and just can’t wrap my head around how dude gets it all done. The word impressive doesn’t do Mike justice. Unbelievable. Congrats on the successful landing and take off.

When STOL and VTOL come together Mike is tucked in there pulling them together. Landing a lite aircraft in Dubai should be fun considering heat and humidity is horrendous there, should be like flying a kite haha.

Hey Mike I actually have a awesome new job working for Ly-Con, so I got some cub crafters engines In inspection right now, just finished one of the redbull engines (overhaul/inspection stuff). It’s really cool to learn how to work on these engines, and we do some pretty cool experimental and high performance stuff as you know. Anyway been watching your videos forever, and now working on aircraft engines it’s pretty cool.
I admire Mike Patey. Your love for aviation, your hard work and your humbleness. My biggest dream in life is to build a unique experimental but my curcomstancis dont allow me to do something like that but watching your videos is one of my highlights every week. Guys, it was awesome! When you look at one of Red Bull's crazy (it is Red Bull in the end) events, you admire a pilot, a skydiver, or any of those guys. But somehow lost that behind each of those events so much hard work. Handwork, mind work, social work. Guys of Red Bulls are often said to be insane, and I`m sure Mike with his approach to aircraft building (and sleep disorder :)) - is one of the coolest, craziest, and genuinely honorable members.
