I came back to your tutorial so many times to refresh myself how to thread the serger again and again! The times I didn’t I definitely paid for it. Thanks again!

Thanks for showing threading up closer. My problem was that blue thread. I been putting the blue thread under the green thread and then after watching you now I put the blue thread thru that needle thingy and over the green thread. That's the part I couldn't see on all the other videos. Hugs and appreciation

Thank you! Thank you! I just got this serger. I watched 3 other tutorials before watching this one and yours is FANTASTIC. You are the only one who specifically mentioned pulling thread from the back when starting to thread the serger. It looked that way but no one else mentioned it. Your attention to detail is phenomenal and I can’t thank you enough. I bought the serger because I like making holiday pillowcases for children. I am particular about my sewing. I ave a zig zag stitch on my sewing machine but
is ok on the seams after to help with raveling. I do French seams on my pillowcases which of course, are time-consuming. The I got the idea of using a serger for my seams. It will be able to make the pillowcases faster! And I owe it all to you!👍

Every time I need to thread my serger I watch this video! He’s the best and his camera focuses on the machine at close up views! While other tutorials are not zoomed in they are more focused on the camera being on them instead of machine which is so hard to see. This video is the BEST!

You are like the Bob Ross of sewing.....Thank you so much for putting out these beginner-level tutorials! Your low-key, easy-going way of teaching with the added benefit of your calm, soothing voice takes the anxiety out of learning. I don't even own a serger yet, but here I am...watching your serger video. I am so new to sewing I have not even turned on my machine but I have watched all your videos and plan to start asap. Your tutorial on How to Read a Sewing Pattern is priceless! Patterns were the most intimidating to me due to all the verbiage on them but now it's the least of my worries. One area I would love to see a video on is fabrics: Different types, what you use for projects and why (i.e. jeans, shirts, costumes), and challenges with different fabrics. There are so many options it is overwhelming! Thanks again for the time and energy you put into your videos; they are truly making a difference for us newbies:o)

My machine .....same as shown here........has started to not stitch properly. I opened you tube searched for a tutorial on trouble shooting my machine......and chose your tutorial........so glad I did. Your tutorial is very clearly explained and shows your procedure step by step. I followed your steps and have the stitches on the top of my test fabric forming but under neath it’s not quite right.
Rethreaded several times........( I don’t know what I’m not doing right ) the thread is not sitting ( quite like yours looked ) in the channel......now it’s not stitching well at all.......I’ll rest it for now and try again.
Appreciate the tutorials you have here and will be watching more of them over time.
Again thank.........you for your time and expertise.....😊😊😊

I have had a sergeant for 2 years and changing the threads has always been an adventure because it was not clear to me the route of the thread from lowerlooper (blue) to upperlooper.I watched hundreds of videos, I watched the serger's book, the diagram drawn on the sewing machine... I didn't understand anything about it ... Thank you from my heart for the clarity of your explanation and especially the absolutely detailed images of each phase. My blessings !!!!

Hello, Mr. Tock! I stumbled upon your videos a few days ago, quite by accident really and I watched one just for the hell of it.
Then I watched another... Then one after that... Now I seam to be falling for your videos hooks, lining and Singer!
You made the subject of sewing not only interesting but facinating!
In fact, I just ordered a Singer 44S Heavy Duty Sewing Machine from Amazon! Should arrive by this Saturday.
    DAMN YOU, SIR!
I am an amateur illustrator, I'm 63 years old, male, retired, living in Colorado.
Before viewing your videos, I was content just doing my artwork, riding a bike for recreation and hand sewing defects in my old, worn clothes. Now I feel the need to make my very own Inverness Cloak, a'la Barnabas Collins from "Dark Shadows!" (Something I've always wanted.)
    Again, "DAMN YOU, SIR!"
Anyway, thank you for your inspiration (...grumble, grumble, retch!) and I look forward to whatever you have to show in the near future.
If you want to see my artwork, look up the video; "Doc Savage, The Land of Terror!" on RUclips.
Ah well, if nothing else at least I can hem my pants by myself now...

lol, I know exactly how you feel! When I started sewing, I thought it was such a joke and a ridiculous thing to do... and then I fell in love with it, and here we both are.
Hope you enjoy your new machine and are ready to make some wild new things! Just let it consume you and you'll find yourself making things that blow your mind :)
Let me know if you have any questions along the way, thanks for the support my friend!

Thank you soooo much. The manual was not specific on having the "blue" thread go OVER the "green" and also that it needed to go in the area between things and out the back. I was threading it wrong when I got to that point and it wasn't working. You are my hero. This has been the MOST helpful video for me in learning how to thread my serger. I was almost ready to return it with all the trouble I was having. I couldn't get it to sew. Finally, in the very last step you instruct about the threads being pulled under the foot and catching under. This is what was making me fail. Such a minor detail after going through all the steps. Thank you also for getting to the point throughout the video; extremely helpful.

HELP! I love your videos. By far the best sewing tutorials I've found including this one on how to thread the 1034D. I've had my Brother 1034D serger for 3 months and I've already taken the machine apart once and reset the timing so the upper and lower looper stopped jamming. It's now making a clicking sound, similar to before it jammed last time, which was less than a week ago. There may not be a huge audience out there for it, but it would be AMAZING to have an in depth video on how to reset the timing of your serger and troubleshoot related issues. All of the other videos I've watched have commented that the Brother 1034D serger is trash, made of cheap parts and Brother will not service for this issue, recommending that you to take it to a local repair person. I don't have $100+ to drop every time my machine malfunctions, which according to other RUclipsrs is often. I'm considering calling it a loss and buying something of better quality, but I'd love if you could convince me otherwise?! Have you had similar issues with your serger? Any thoughts, help, tutorials would be much appreciated!

You saved me!!!! I haven’t used my serger in a few years because I needed to thread it. I tried and got sooo discouraged and frustrated I just put it back in the closet. I came across your video today and followed your instructions to successfully rethread my machine! Your instructions are clear, simple and easy to follow. A world of thanks & I’ve subscribed to your channel to learn more sewing tips from you. A million thanks! 😊

ah this is the best ever tutorial!!! I watched every single one out there and you were the only one that mentioned the thread going over the top of the other one!!! So I finally I had no snapping thread!! Thankyou sooooo much and so clear and so precise too!! Perfectly done, well done you!

Thank you so much for doing this video. I have my instruction manual but it’s not as intricate as you are in the threading of my brother lock 1034D.
I really appreciate that you show us exactly where each thread lays on the inside of the Serger.
I watched other video’s but none of them compare to your instruction video at all!
    Thank you again!!!

I want my two years back, it was easier than it looked 💀💀🥲

Hands Down the easies tutorial to follow, and I didn’t have to pause at all but could follow along nicely - thank you!
Could you talk a bit about the dials on the left side of the machine, the differentials I think?

    • @TockCustom
      @TockCustom  3 года назад

That's a great complement! The dials on the left are for doing gathering, ruffles, or flares, which is great for a lot of feminine garments, but I don't use those features very often (unless I'm doing renaissance clothing). Have some fun doing tests and seeing what you like! Thanks for watching 😊

Your tutorials are always topnotch. You should have a fashion school. I have seen many server threading tutorials but none as detailed with every step taken clearly seen as yours. After watching this, I can thread a brother 1034D like a dream, no jokes. Thanks buddy.

Thank you for your Step by Step Tutorial . I have the same Serger but unfortunately I don't have the book that it came with. Your Tutorial is the Best one I've seen, and I've watched a few before seeing yours. I will have more confidence now when I change my threads . You Take the Award for the BEST Tutorial !!!YAY!!!!!

Thank you so much!!! I only use my Serger a few times a year. And I’ve used your video a few times now, because I usually forget a part of the blue/green threading process. Please never remove this video/link I’ll need it in the future. I’d like to check out if you have other video’s for stitch modification. That would be awesome!

Wow. Thank you so much for this video. I have had my serger in the box unopened since November 2019. Shameful, I know. My regular sewing machine just broke, and while I wait to choose another, I thought it was about time I get that serger out and try it. I will be watching more of your videos for sure!

Thank you for the great video. I would add to the instructions that sometimes you have to turn the wheel on the right to get the mechanisms inside the serger accessible and to a place where you can thread them.

Seriously best tutorial available on this topic. I don’t even own a sewing machine. I purchased a server for a special purpose. Thank you for such a helpful, clear and concise tutorial...really fabulous job..!

I have to say, yes this is the BEST video on serger threading. The close up shots and your patience in explaining was awsome for me as a beginner. I have tried several times with my new serger and the thread keeps breaking. I just about gave up, but now I am ready to try again! Thanks
