    I have no one in my life who sews, and your videos have been invaluable in helping me learn. A lot of the other patterns for beginners videos don't go into seam allowances or cover the specifics of pattern markings. Your filming style makes following the content very intuitive, thanks for the info!

      Hello … I just started a sewing class , learning to sew clothes . I like your idea of making a carbon copy of the original pattern. This video is extremely well done and very helpful!
      You have a new subscriber… you are my virtual teacher from here on . I am not going to pick up all knowledge during my class time in person so your videos will be an excellent way to improve my skills .
      It is my hope build my wardrobe with pieces that are made by me …. I have always wanted to do this 30 years ago but raising a young family and working at a demanding career never allowed me any free time to do this. This is an old gal wanting to fulfill a long awaited goal and I am so excited I found a way to level up my new skill .
      Thank you very very much for a great tutorial and I shall be binge watching your channel. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    It's great to see you all trying. I get hung up on picking out fabrics and cutting. Even on my quilts. Mom taught me the best kept secret to great seams was pressing. Not to be confused with ironing.

    Tock, thanks again for the video. I have a few patterns that I have purchased to start dabbling into new things. I remember opening up one of them a while ago, then just putting it back so this is a great introduction into them.

    This was so helpful! Came across this printer in an old box in the basement, unopened. Several new print cartridges with it. Wasn't able to print - the back peg was too bendy to push the printer gear forward. Stuffed in a rolled up piece of label, and it works! Thank you for taking the time to post this!

    Your videos are great! Sewing is a skill and you have taught yourself well. I have been sewing for 55 years and I was taught at home as well as in school (a skill that should still be offered).
    Might I suggest a hint for you and your viewers?
    I would suggest adding the pattern name and number to each piece (McCalls 2526) just in case someone isn't as well organized as yourself or if the project isn't sewn shortly after cutting.
    Thank you for your content, I love it.

    • @TockCustom
      @TockCustom  4 года назад +1

      Thank you so much Deb! I think I put the exact pattern in the description of the video so people can find it, but this is a great idea. That is a great idea to put the pattern number on each piece for sure though! Good recommendation!
      Hope you have a terrific weekend, thanks for watching :)

    Thanks to your video, patterns don't appear half as scary as they did before. You've made them much more accessible. The other thing I've often wondered is how do you deal with your size changing over the years should you want to reuse the pattern. The answer is so simple and obvious - use the tracing fabric so that you can make all the different sizes without chopping up the original pattern thereby losing the ability to make the larger sizes. Maybe this is what you're supposed to do with patterns as standard but I always see people chopping up the original pattern. Great tip, thanks Tock!

    Thanks for the tracing paper idea. I have been sewing for years and never thought of it. I recently wanted to make a shirt from an old pattern. I wanted to make it in a different size but couldn't as I had cut the original. Really bad as it was a vintage pattern. Not good to cut the original. Thanks for your videos. Keep it up please as there are not many men sewing mens clothes videos out there.
