I was shopping at a LCS during a 40% off sale a few months ago and grabbed 239. 240 and 241 for 3 bucks a piece. Just had a good feelng looking at them and didnt realize it was Mr.Sinister's 1st cover. Its a great arc !

I speculated on ASM 229 several years ago. This is a huge key. We find the profound realization that the suit is sentient (and is evil) and also find it’s weaknesses (fire, sound)! Basically it is Venom. Have no idea why it’s so undervalued, and why garbage like spider-Hulk gets more love.
Just found your channel. Late gen-xer been collecting comics since 1993. I stopped in 2013, but just getting back into light spec collecting. Man, if I had taken some time to consider the future back in the day, I had so many comics that I gave away or didn't take care of, that are going for bonkers prices now. @@CoMoComicBooks Man, I left in late 90s and tried to come back in 2000, didn't feel it so stayed away again until 07 with Civil War. During my yearly trips to conventions, I had many signed comics, Civil war variants signed by Michael Turner, Infinite Crisis issues signed by Jim Lee and other stuff I cant remember. I had them all in 7 long comic boxes in my familys garage and I had most of my signed comics/event mini series in one box. To my extreme dismay, when I recently tried to dig them all up, that box was the one I could not find. My relatives have had people in and out of the garage several times of the last 5+years. I'm hoping against hope it is in my brothers storage trailer, but I strongly doubt it. To see the prices many of these comics are going for right now, has me feeling devastated to put it mildly, I calculate losses easily in the five figure range, to say nothing of the sentimental value those comics held for me. I try not to think about it. I don't know why it never dawned on me to check on them constantly to make sure they were all there or to move them sooner. Ugh, hindsight, indeed.
🤯 And I thought I was ahead of the curve! It’s been a $20 ($25 for SUPER clean copies) for me, for a while. I would hold off at $40, that seems a bit strong at the moment, despite the increase in interest. Last I looked you could buy a whole run of Maximum Carnage for around $100, but it looks like that is up a fair amount too.

Very interesting video. I really like your viewpoint on comics. It seems to me that you should consider Silver Surfer #1 Volume 2 from 1982 as a way undervalued comic. He is a major character with many of his books getting very expensive. Look at the price of the 1968 #1 The #1 Volume 2 is still a bargain with 9.8 issues very hard to find. Story by Stan Lee and John Byrne with amazing John Byrne art with a classic cover. This seems like a bronze age must featuring the 2nd #1 of Silver Surfer. You are the expert so your viewpoint would be appreciated.
Hey Herbert! Thanks for watching! Vol2 1 is a little more challenging to track down than Vol3 1 and is a great cover to boot. Definitely a book worth picking up.
Good ol’ eBay. The convenience store for collectibles, where you pay for the convenience of finding whatever you want from the comfort of your couch! It’s definitely a book I think could be found in discount boxes, particularly if the seller isn’t leaning in on trying to keep up with the market.
I'm beginning to see the needle move on quite a few issues of Marvel Tales. Reprints or not, sometimes a great cover can make an old tale shine like a new penny. I love it when I see an issue of Marvel Tales with a sharp McFarlane cover fetch a pretty penny. Who says you can't judge a book by its cover?
A few of those McFarlane covers are great and I especially like the ASM129 reprint with the red background on the cover, as opposed to the original yellow.
@@CoMoComicBooks God call. I have some Iceman & Archangel covers that are pretty sharp too. The death of Captain Stacy is also really nice. The saturation era of the 90's is finally offering a return on investment. It only took a quarter century!

Hi Drew, I hope you're doing well. This comment doesn't have anything to do with what you're talking about here. There is currently a copy of Batman 251 on ebay in CGC 9.8 with a price of $35000.00! This shouldn't bother me, but I just can't believe that anybody would think this book comes close to that price! It is a great book and is the 1st Batman comic I bought in 1973 and is probably myy favorite comic ever, but it just isn't worth that kind of money! I'd appreciate your opinion Drew. Yeah... No doubt it’s a classic cover and a 9.8 would be cool to have, but at that price point you can pick up a major key, like a 9.6 Hulk 181 or a collectible lower grade copy of Amazing Fantasy 15. I would be a hard no on Bat251 at that price.
Great list! Hard to find anything under $20 that has strong protentional for price appreciation these days, but you nailed it. If I were a betting man...and I AM a betting man...I'd bet that you go 11 for 11 on these picks. Congrats on 5000, and here's hoping for many many more.

The short version of what’s going on right now is this: if we watched It on TV on Saturday mornings or after school and they made a comic book about it, it’s getting hot. I’ve noticed and been telling my viewers there has been a significant jump in GIJOE key issues ( just as u stated .. is the cause) Gijoe #32 ( lady Jaye’s 1st app) and any key SnakeEyes issue 1, 22, 26 , 144 and issue 22 ( Destro’s 1st possible enemy to lady Jaye ) ... lol you should do an entire episode on that ... I’ll be happy to help :)

It’s not as comfortable for an abnormally large person like me as I’d hoped it would have been, but I’ve found it to be pretty handy when I’m shopping at a show compared to the messenger style bag I used to use. I decided to keep the collectors edition bag for my own use. It’s not as subtle as the art is in a yellow font and the color is really close to the shade of yellow I use for the channel. 😁

The influx of people/money into the market, along with the rise of the MCU has really accelerated the pace at which the hobby burned through the general accessibility of Bronze Age books. Copper is right on its heals now, with the more obscure or limited Copper keys already entering the stratosphere. It’s just a wild time in the hobby right now.
I feel bad for LCS owners. I have a show every month or two and have a hard time keeping up with prices. I can’t imagine trying to keep ahead of it every single day.
@@CoMoComicBooks Some care more than others about keeping up. I bought an entire Maximum Carnage set for 70 bucks today from my LCS. It's been going for 300 and up online lately. But the owner had it priced months ago and wasn't going to change it. He has more important things to worry about than chasing dollars in that manner. He knows full well that a lot of the keys are soaring and if he buys a collection will purchase and re sell accordingly. But having employees dig through bins to adjust prices on back issues ? Not worth the effort I imagine..
Hey Jay! Easy isn’t necessarily part of the equation. In today’s market, you’ve got to go a number of places to get values. EBay sold, GPA, GoCollect, Key Collector, ComicLink auction results (which don’t stay posted for long), and probably some other outlets that aren’t on my radar yet. Everything is moving/changing so rapidly, that missing a single sale can be a big issue.
@@CoMoComicBooks and a few of those books have jumped almost double that 20 dollar mark..the mighty avengers infinity and the Max carnage have spiked very nicely
I was worried about Ultimate Spider-Man the most. Had some backend issues that delayed the video getting out and now I’m a little behind the 8-ball on a few of them. That said, unless a LCS is REALLY on top of things, those books should still be obtainable for $20ish. eBay? Nah.

Do you guys invest in only comics or stocks too. I'm comparing my top 10 comics to my best Canadian stock AQN and I swear they are neck and neck which is insane.
I don’t know that they’re necessarily good investments, but they are definitely worth collecting. I don’t see a long term likelihood of appreciation for them. Mind Bomb is already off of highs from just a year or two back. I would focus on ASM361.

EBay sold, GPA, GoCollect, Key Collector, ComicLink auction results (which don’t stay posted for long), and probably some other outlets that aren’t on my radar yet. Everything is moving/changing so rapidly, that missing a single sale can be a big issue.

I was worried about Ultimate Spider-Man the most. Had some backend issues that delayed the video getting out and now I’m a little behind the 8-ball on a few of them. That said, unless a LCS is REALLY on top of things, those books should still be obtainable for $20ish. eBay? Nah.

Do you guys invest in only comics or stocks too. I'm comparing my top 10 comics to my best Canadian stock AQN and I swear they are neck and neck which is insane.
I have the ol’ 401k and some other stuff, but I leave that to the pros.
The crisis #7 seems to be averaging £40 already 🙈🙈

I don’t know that they’re necessarily good investments, but they are definitely worth collecting. I don’t see a long term likelihood of appreciation for them. Mind Bomb is already off of highs from just a year or two back. I would focus on ASM361.
