The controller of the commander that deals the last of the 21 commander damage should get the point. So I think Justin should get the point. Though I also like the idea of Jonathan getting -1 from shame
@@lifetimesoccerplaya Not sure if you saw John take 7 instead of 3 and Steven taking 9 instead of 3. Also Jeremy gaining 16 life. That was in just the first 35 minutes.
Justin should definitely get the point. The rules say "+1 point for killing with Commander Damage". Justin did kill John with Commander damage.I do love the suggestion of John losing a point though
How about an episode in which legendary creatures with multiple different cards are partners (like Ashling the Pilgrim and Ashling the Extinguisher or Gerrard Capashen and Gerrard, Weatherlight Hero)? But as they are basically the same character at different time periods you can only have one of them on the battlefield at the same time.
Justin gets the point. You guys have made this call before. I have failed as a viewer and haven’t binged recently so I can’t give episode numbers, but the point is for “Killing someone with commander damage” and Justin killed John with commander damage. It doesn’t matter whose commander it was or how much dealt to get the kill
@1:00:00 in response to Justin targeting Eidolon of Blossoms with Elspeth's Nightmare's third ability, Jeremy could have targeted Jon with Scrabbling Claws, then Jon could have chosen to exile Eidolon of Blossoms so that Justin would not reanimate it.
One day Justin will learn not to blindly trust Stephen. I can't name an occasion where it has worked out for him in nineteen seasons of play. Absolutely worthwhile to throw a Thrax attack his way when you're that close to him killing you.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Jon hard casts Chronomantic Escape, he wouldn't be able to suspend it right? From my understanding of suspend, you either cast the spell as normal, or exile it with X time counters and the spell is cast for free once all time counters are removed, right?
It's part of a cycle of cards that Suspend 3 themselves on casting. Arc Blade (Shock), Chronomantic Escape (Can't be attacked), Cyclical Evolution (Giant Growth), Festering March (-1/-1 to all opponents creatures till EoT), and Reality Strobe (Bounce)
The rule is "Killing someone with commander damage" not "Someone is killed by commander damage dealt by your commander". I'm not team blue but Justin should definitely get the point there.
@1:02:44 the person who deals the 21st (or more) point of commander damage with a commander should get the point. In this case Justin should get the point.
I like the idea of the Commander's Quarters and I watch the channel from time to time, but those decks didn't seem to work as well as the people on Reddit keep suggesting. I guess it's a good way to get into the game, though I still think if someone brought one of those to even a casual budgetless group, they'd get stomped. Probably best if everybody is playing the same budget restrictions, as in this episode.
They have a problem with attacking because stephen had perpetuated a cultural of petty revenge, even when if it gains him nothing. So now everyone's scared to attack and leave themselves open instead of removing opponents from the game and banding together to feel with the threat.
@@JParnell1 You added those 3 already. 43:48 you cast Eldest Reborn with 5 counters on Thrax putting him to 8. Then you attack Jon and move the dice from a 2 to a 5 adding 3 counters instead of one.
I think as-written Justin gets the point, but it doesn't seem right for the spirit of the rule. I like the suggestion of John instead losing a point out of shame. And I think the rule should get some clarification.
I will accept Justin's transparent baiting to get more comments, since it's Painfully Obvious that Justin gets the point for dealing lethal commander damage.
Damn sadly Stephen would have been long dead because Alela deals 3 not 2 Commander Dmg and that would have been 21. Kinda sucks seeing Stephen win knowing this...
I actually like it. Maybe when they're back in the studio, as it gets to Justin's or Stephen's turn, the screen can rotate so we can see the current player's board on the bottom, as if we're wandering around the table ourselves behind them when we need to see the other side easier. Much better to see current, most relevant board the right way up, IMO. I'll admit it's a little weird seeing both sets of players the right way up, but I'd prefer that to an upside-down current player's board.
TeamGreen as always, but come on Stephen... You played Gorm the Great with 7 mana open and Swiftfoot Boots sitting there, and didn't equip and attack, forcing Jeremy to lose his only blocker and getting 8 more damage through.
Isn't Doran a global effect, meaning all creatures deal damage with their butts
Yeah, but you can't feel bad when the person with the Doran forgets that.
@@jokerES2 so Jeremy creatures would did 2 damage every time
InstaBlaster...
This whole time I was really confused that Doran was doing as poorly as it was. Then I realized no one is fallowing his rules.
Could I just say that Mr. Parnell should get a bonus point for being the player who always tries to portray his commander at the opening photo op?! :)
The controller of the commander that deals the last of the 21 commander damage should get the point. So I think Justin should get the point. Though I also like the idea of Jonathan getting -1 from shame
You guys realize that doran makes all creatures damage deal based on toughness and not just his own
I guess it's harder to keep track of the boardstate through webcams
it's tough to say if it would have really mattered, everyone elses creatures pretty much had the same power and toughness so it is probably a non bo

Doran makes buttfights instead of swordfights.
@@NinjaFresh Yeah, that's a huge misplay. The Cranial Plating should have been completely negated by Doran's static effect.
Big miss from Doran's static. That would have changed everyone's turn for sure.
Came here to say the same thing
Jon should get -1 point for loosing to his own commander, rather than give a point to someone for the group effort
Dude, spoilers!
You should get -1 for misspelling "losing" lol jk jk
Love the collab guys, appreciate the community highlighting itself!
Seeing the Commanders quarters page growing and even getting recognition from Commander VS is awesome.
Justin's Intro props kill me every time :)

I think everyone but John should get 1/3rd of a point, but I guess that is basically the same thing.
John, it's pretty irresponsible to be giving the Karona-virus to everyone in your playgroup.
Points screen clearly says "+1: Killing with commander damage"
So Justing gets the point since he was killing John with commander damage.
Awesome to see the shout out to Mitch, love both channels.

Sucks they forgot to realize Doran affects the entire board, but looks like it did not make that much of a difference in the end.
It would have nerfed Alela pretty hard...
Yeah. Alela was a LOT less scary if they had remembered Doran
exactly this, alela and cranial plating would have been far less of an issue.
Oof, them talking about passing around Karona...
I mean, they still did. Once.
Man, that ending sponsor xD 10/10!
Your "Thats what she said" moment bought to you by Team Green @ 1:24:30

John brings Korona to the table & dies from it. How very 2020. Thanks for the content.
Yes! Mitch is getting noticed again. It is well-deserved. The Commander's Quarters is a fantastic channel.
At 45:10 when Justin attacks Jon he adds three counters to Thraximundar instead of one from the trigger.
IIRC - The rule is 'killing an opponent with Commander damage,' ergo, Justin should get the point.
It would be awesome if you could get a call in from West Wise for the 200th show
Wonderful episode. Thanks guys.
I'd say whoever is in control of the commander gets the point. So Justin had control of Karona, so he should get point
The rule says "kill a player with commander damage." Justin controlled the killing attack so he gets the point
Am I missing something here but shouldn’t Alela attached with cranial plating still only deal 3 damage with Doran on the field?
Awesodge yes they missed it

Justin jumps from 8 counters to 11 on one trigger?

I may get this wrong but how can you cast a spell and also suspend it? Also Doran is symmetrical.
Because it gets suspended as part of its own resolution. Reading the card explains the card.

Will you retroactively award Jeremy the W, since he did do 21 to Stephen with Alela?
